How can you say that, and not know that ATs are not gender baked? I mean, seriously? If you've been around since beta, I would think you would have a better feel for the community as well. What's with all the rookie mistakes?

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

There are things I learn every single day about the game that I had no idea about before. To put on pretenses to the otherwise would be pretty arrogant. That and I'm pretty terrible at faking that I know something I don't .

I'll never claim to be omnipotent about City of Heroes, I'll leave that to the folks who have the encyclopedic amounts of knowledge and the capability to recall those things at will.

reading through the cliff notes here I have to say that I am... unconvinced that the paragon prices are being re-evaluated. Despite all of the feedback on the beta forums, the feedback on the game launch when the "real" price-list was revealed, and the immediate backlash on the Pirate costume "sale" price... nothing has changed. Empirical evidence indicates that no, the Paragon Market prices have not been re-evaluated, if they had ever been evaluated at all.

The servers and data-base can be prepped for the equivalent of WoW's population, but all the server tech in the world won't do anything for prices that are on the wrong side of Ludicrous.

Now that you know Zwill, how's about slapping Jay around until we get buttcapes for the male Widows? Thanks!

In Z's defense, I've been playing since Issue 4 and it was just 2 weeks ago that I found out I could be a male 'Widow'.

I'd just never bothered with VEAT's before then and well, all the Widows and Fortunata's I've run across have been female...

Gods yes, please. And don't let Noble Savage trot out that bizarre gender trope again, either. You guys invented widows and waistcapes. You made the decision to cut them off for the male widows (or widowers, as Zwill would prefer). You can give them back to us.

Sorry, Zwill. I just don't believe that you've been playing this game for as long as you say you have.

City of Heroes: Freedom Beta that is. :P
See, and now people are just going to think that I'm "Dumple-ThatGuyWhoRandomlyHatesZwillinger-Berry." That's not true. And neither is it true that Zwillinger only just started playing. Also, even though I don't get to experience the UStreams, thank you for getting up so early to keep everyone company, Zwill.

Re-evaluating prices doesn't meant you are going to immediately make a change based on a small and limited amount of feedback. Re-evaluating means you look at ALL of the information available, weigh the negatives along with the positives, and then make a decision. And the decision may even be "we don't have enough accurate information to make a change right now". And that's not even factoring in the part of the process that goes into deciding what the new price should be.

Sure, there were several posts with feedback on the Pirate costume cost, but there is also feedback that we the players can't see and that is how many of these were purchased at that price. Not all players post on the forums, Facebook or Twitter. And there is even more data that we can't see that PS can see that they are likely to use in their re-evaluation processes.

Apparently your definition of re-evaluating prices means that since a few people complained loudly about the prices it must be changed immediately.

Must be the same thought processes you use to rant and rave against their lack of support for Linux since a handful of people try to play the game on it.

If I said what I thought of your post, I'd have to click that little red triangle next to my post. And then Zwaffenpotatowafflesinsteadofbaconwaffles would fall out of his chair laughing when he saw the report.

I don't want him to hurt himself that way.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Someone in Ustream keeps getting told to hush because they're spamming "I WANTS TO HIDE THE GLOWY BITS OF HASTEN!" or something similar.

Posi: "No, you mean you want to hide the glowy bit of Hasten in PvP."
ARGH!!! <slams head into desk>

Will someone please let Positron know that PvP isn't Magic:The Gathering where if you see someone playing a Yellow Deck (i.e., has Hasten on) then you change the strategies of which cards you pull and play.

"Oh, no! I see that he has Hasten on! That changes... EVERYTHING!!!!"

So, Posi, this "Really?!" goes out to you:

You think that being able to see which powers are being used by a player foe has a significant effect on PvP? Really?!

Really?! Even after Diminishing Returns, it's important to know how much recharge another foe has, even though there can be up to another 100% recharge working invisibly in the background from IO Set buffs? Really?!

You think there's someone out there, who, if they could hide the fact that they have Hasten on, they would be overpowered in PvP... Really?!

<heavy sigh>

This tirade brought to you by how long it's taking to enable Power Pool customization and the inability to even say it's coming.

tl;dr version of the above;

[CENSORED] PvP, give us the customisation for PvE! Hasten and SS BOTH look fugly as all hell. They are probably the fugliest sfx in the entire GAME. Yes, we get that it needs coding as well as art time. Given HOW MUCH people want PP and EPP customisation, maybe you SHOULD just allocate the coding time and FINISH the damn thing? Just, y'know, throwing that wild curveball nutty idea out there?

And my gods, they ARE working on fixing AE being buggerated?

Well, first time for everything I guess...

Everyone seems to be getting on Zwill's case about not knowing something about the game.

The game is BIG. Everyone misses something. I told a designer the other day that you can combine two enhancements that are already IN a power (i.e. not including one in your tray) and they had no idea that was in the game. Been there since launch (or a little after), not many people know it can be done because the UI was set up for simplification in this case.

I don't find it hard to believe. I've been playing continuously since Beta and there are several things about the game that I don't know.

If it's something I have no interest in, I'm not usually going to bother learning anything about it. I may see something mentioned, but my brain generally just lets things I'm not interested in slip right through and out.

Now, that being said, he never said he'd been playing continuously since Beta.

For every 1200 Paragon Points purchased ($15.00 USD) you receive one (1) Paragon Reward Token.

Right away too. As opposed to paying $15 for the month and getting the Reward Token at the end of said month. You should make this even otherwise no-one who needs just one extra token is going to subscribe.

I posted this just so no-one could do that stupid FPARN thing.

For every 1200 Paragon Points that you purchase, you will receive a free Paragon Rewards token. This doesn't include the free Paragon Points that are awarded as part of the VIP subscription.

EDIT: Bah, too old and too slow. Still, I included a bit more information.

You get a free Reward Token for every equivalent month of subscription. 1200 points is $15.

How long has that designer been with the game? I can forgive people that in the days of IOs, but that was the big min-maxing move for years in this game. So long as he was new, it's an understandable mistake. Exactly like Zwillinger's.

Just wanted to set the record straight: I did not ransom the @CityOfHeroes Twitter name. I found the name was available and that Zwil had been talking to the old owner for a while about getting it, which the previous owner refused to.

I saw it was free, snagged it, and messaged Zwil that I wanted to turn the name over to them. No charge. Nothing.

But I can say that Zwil was beyond generous and showed his appreciation for me giving him the name

Thanks again Zwil! XD
