Doesn't matter. NCSoft isn't responsible for their inability to play the game more frequently. That's a personal problem they need to deal with on their own.

Yeah who gives a **** about the EU player base right? It's their own dirty damn fault, for operating on different time zones to the US. And as for those Oceanic customers ...
Brawling Cactus from a distant planet.
Next you'll tell me you're a lady from a foreign country who saw my avatar and read my profile, and now you've become enamored with me and can't wait until you can finally meet me so we can begin our lives together. Oh, and you also need my bank account information for reasons that aren't entirely clear.

According to the to-hit numbers that I looked at after that rumor got started, Praetorian Clock work do have an accuracy bonus to their attacks.

Other than getting a mod to lock it down, you're out of luck. Purposeful attempts to invoke godwin generally fail.
Still holds, however.
If you sign a document that says "I hereby give permission for Joey Anyman to hit my left hand with a tack hammer one (1) time without any legal, physical or financial repercussions" and sign it (the agreement), Joey can hit your hand with a hammer and if you decide to take him to court he can present the document. The judge would laugh at you. |
But that's because there are laws against taking advantage of the mentally disadvantaged, especially when it comes to contract signings and whether or not they can be considered capable of entering into contracts.
You're forgeting this isn't a random hurricane knocking over a powerline, this is schedulded, planend maintance or the results of poorly executed previous maintance.
It's also to prepare to for future customers, refunding the players the lost time, what does it cost them? It means instead of some one paying them on the 20th they pay on the 21st or the 22nd. To use your IP example, this is them cutting service to you several times over a two week period, so that they can offer service to a new housing estate. If that happened, I'm pretty sure they would give you the extra time before your next bill. Telling the players to go **** themselves and hiding behind the EULA? What will that cost them? Well players and word of mouth back lash for one. |

Im in the Oceanic timezone which gets hit by downtime USUALLY around 8-9pm.
(NOTE: I did say usually not always).
This is a really bad time for most people who work the AVERGE hours in my timezone.
But this time is also early morning USA time which is the biggest market so while it does annoy me I can also understand it. Less impact on the majority of customers.
Yes recently there have been some USA morning/midday downtimes but the vast majority of downtime is when the majority of the player base is asleep.
(In all fairness I will say that the above is an assumption as I dont know how many ppl in the American timezones play at 3am USA time). And yes I know there are multiple timezones in the USA.
But back to my point (and yes I do have one somewhere around here) the recent two downtimes started at (or will for tonights downtime) between 6:30-8:30pm in my timezone. Tonights is 3:30am USA = 8:30pm NSW (Australia).
If you dont play between 3am-11am USA (expected downtime) why should YOU get anything? What have YOU lost?
The OPTION to play the game at whatever time you want? I want to play the game when I get home for work after dinner but I cant as the regular weekly Maint starts 9pm my time. Should I whinge and ***** and demand payback? Hell no. Why? Because I know that things have to happen and sometimes things happen that werent planned for. So I deal with it. I understand NCSoft has to have downtime that affects the least number of customers. I understand that unforseen stuff happens that causes problems and if they are bad enough time needs to be spent to get it working again.
Well in that case Oceania should get regular paybacks as WE are much more affected than Americans. And yes I was being a ******** there.
Give everyone dbl xp weekend? When? Based on the forums posts for the last one ppl need 4-6+ weeks of prior notice so they can arrange leave.
But I cant play on that weekend. Sorry ive got something on. So I miss out on my payback. Wahhhhhhhhhhhh I get nothing you all suck.
As for ppl having issues with the EULA - you signed it. Deal with it.
I work for a company that provides support for a propriety software.
We do not offer support on our Sundays. We state this in out SLA (yes I know its diferent to a EULA but is similar enough for my point).
If a customer's database crashes on Sunday or after hours on Saturday they have no way of contacting us.
Dont like it? - dont agree to it which means dont play or use it. It is your choice. Find another game that doesnt have that type of disclaimer in their EULA (good luck) and play that game.
Have fun.

They could hand out a certain number of these if NCsoft feels we deserve compensation.
i dont think its too much to ask for maybe some points to their loyal customers for putting up with the issues lately...an aura and costume part of your choice aint asking too much.

Y'know I'm pretty sure that's actually pretty funny but I'm not in the Friggin' Taser loop unfortunately.

1. Pick the side of the argument that would incite the most response
2. Post some hyperbolic analogy you know doesn't make sense so others can pick it apart and you can, in turn, respond to them with more analogies.
3. ...
4. Profit.
You messed up somewhere around step 3 where, instead of responding to people with verbose rants full of off the wall analogies and metaphors that really don't mean anything, you just started with the "blah blah blah" nonsense. That's like admitting troll-defeat.
Keep training, kid, and one day you might make Nationals.

As a side note getting off on people feeling cheated is disgusting. Seriously.

Ah, I get it, I admitted no such thing I just stopped responding to those two who I personally felt had nothing to contribute, period. Then I went and watched Thor. Did you see it? It seemed kind of rushed and lackluster. And I maintain my analogies make perfect sense. 'Picked apart' or not.

So now there's no way to get the lawn mower IN the shed without some sort of ramp system or a very very sturdy piece of plywood.
But there's also termites.
Know what I'm saying?

You didn't pay for 30 days of game play. You paid for the permission to log in and play anytime during those 30 days. You can only play if the servers are up, which they say up front (just like every MMO) can be subject to as much downtime as necessary to keep them running.
You don't play 24/7 every day, so why should anyone compensate you for several hours of time? You have the rest of the month to make up for it, and still get your entertainment dollar's worth.
Now, "doesn't have any obligation to compensate" doesn't mean they can't do so anyway because they choose to. That's where the people that decide how much good will was lost by the downtime come in and say that the company should extend an olive branch as an apology, though they've told us why the game is down...it's not unexpected maintenance. Unless this goes on for a week, don't hold your breath.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.
See, it's like your post was a tool shed. Except the point you were trying to make was a ride on lawn mower. Somewhere along the way, when the tool shed was made, they assumed the owner would want the door up off the ground.

What I'm saying is: the horrible Taser impersonation continues.
No metaphor or analogy there.

So, you're just going to continue on in this vein I'm assuming? With the increasingly weak sarcastic pseudo self mockery thing?

At this point, your posts are getting dangerously close to becoming the forum equivalent of dividing by zero.

I agree completely with everything Sam said in one of his posts.
I have no landline. If there is an emergency, it is how I contact emergency services.
If a relative ends up in the hospital, it is how I am contacted.
If something happens at work, it is how they contact me.
If I have trouble with a delivery at work, it's how I contact either my employer or my customer, depending on the situation.
My cellphone is not a *convenience* any more than the traditional one land line in a house is. And the fact that when we DID have a land line, we were able to get them to speed up service quoting FCC regulations (line went out, they blamed us and told us they couldn't get to us for a week. Turns out it was THEIR end :/ ).
On the flip side, I understand that things like dropped calls can happen. But extended non-functionality in areas that are covered? Yes, I'd go after AT&T.
