Doctor Who 27/8 (or 8/27)
That was confusing. I think I'm mostly caught up on the order of events now... I think, but my parents were left in the dust.

I dunno, I understood it fine, my parents thought it was confusing though.
I really enjoyed it though. Can't wait to see what's next!
Hasn't quite aired here in the far corner of the colonies yet. Looking forward to it, though! Sounds like some timestream-crossing shenanigans to be had. Would those who've seen the ep say it's handled better or worse than, say... Back to the Future II?

It airs in the US in about 15 Minutes from this post

Rory is like Arthur Dent with more Nazi punching.
Goodbye may seem forever
Farewell is like the end
But in my heart's the memory
And there you'll always be

I kinda felt sorry for Rory and Amy in this episode by the way.
It was all really starting to pile on top of them and every moment it just got worse for them!

I think rory/amy stand in for the audience in this episode more so than usual.
I am an ebil markeeter and will steal your moneiz ...correction stole your moneiz. I support keeping the poor down because it is impossible to make moneiz in this game.
Man that was one of the best WHO episodes ever. I gotta give it a 8/10 only because River kinda wanted to save the DOCTOR after wanting to kill him so much kinda quickly. Otherwise the Episode was great . Full of surprises and shocking revelations. I havent had a curve ball thrown at me like that since Adric died(I know some folks thought that was a good thing) just saying. 8/10 but a classic

Thunder is good, thunder is impressive, but lightning does the work.
Finally, a good episode. It's a shame next week looks so crummy.
"You don't lose levels. You don't have equipment to wear out, repair, or lose, or that anyone can steal from you. About the only thing lighter than debt they could do is have an NPC walk by, point and laugh before you can go to the hospital or base." -Memphis_Bill
We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...

Is this then the first appearance of a organization counter to the Silence? I expect we'll see more of them. If so, next time, they might just have a grudge against Amy. She nearly allowed a lot of their people to be killed.
EDIT: scratch that. I wrote that too early and before coffee. I'm guessing the organization is the same as that which acts as River's prison guards. I wasn't considering them because the group depicted here had more ferocious methods of dealing with those they captured, than what I've seen with the prison.

She didn't "want" to kill the Doctor. She was programmed to kill the Doctor. As soon as the program was complete she was free to do whatever she wanted.
Did think Amy was a pit psychotic - she could easily have got the entire 400+ crew of the Tesseract killed. Okay, she was trying to save her daughter, but it's not as if they where evil.
Oh, and it appears to be quite widely known that River Song kills the Doctor. The Doctor makes the comment "I knew it would be you" as if he was being frightfully clever. It wouldn't be frightfully clever if it was something everyone knew. Ergo it isn't River Song who kills the Doctor (although she takes the rap). Who would River be most likely to take the rap for? Her mother.
A later episode is due to return to when Amy and Rory where kids - this may explain how "Mel" was inserted into their timeline. "don't care for weddings"! I don't believe that any more than the Doctor did.
Oh, and it's not clear how much time has past for the Doctor between AGMGTW and LKH. Could be a couple of hundred years.
I really should do something about this signature.
And noone apparently picked up on the TARDIS saying that ability is locked when the doctor said I'll regenerate... or that River used all her regenerations implying that they all went to the doctor since only one regen was need to revive >.>
So no longer need to ask what happens when the doctor reaches his regen limit... he has a whole new set of regens...minus 1 apparently.

Yeah, I know that the people they are torturing are evil, but to use a cliché, two wrongs don't make a right.
I'd say they're just as evil as the people they torture.
so, What is the question, and do we even know what the answer is?

theorizing, but one clue given was it was that the big question was asked since the beginning of the universe. Even on an individual level, you start by comprehending your beginning. Do you not look to the future and contemplate your ending? The Silence sounds like a religion dedicated to bringing about an answer to the end of all things, "Silence will fall".
Several have noted the Omega symbol on members of the order. It still could be the Time Lord Omega, but could it not also be a symbol for ending?

Also, maybe it's just me, but the crew of the Tesseract(sp?) struck me as sort of similar to Jack Harkness in his first appearance. As if the robot body/ship wasn't actually their technology, since they needed special bracelets to avoid being eradicated by the antibodies, seemingly inexperienced with many of the systems, etc. while taking it upon themselves to "police" the timestream, whatever that means. All of which makes me think that they're somehow related to the Time Agency (and yes, likely the ones responsible for River's captivity). River and Jack are from the same century, after all, though I don't think it's ever made clear how far apart they are within that timeframe.

But it occurs to me that "the question" is not 1 question but several
Who is River Song?
What is the Silence?
Where
Why does River Song kill he doctor?
When does the Doctor Die?
How does the doctor come back?
The culmination of all of those is... What is Life?
Or a joking response to "The silence will fall" is "Yes, but will it get up again?"
so, What is the question, and do we even know what the answer is?

2. The Doctor.
He was instrumental in the reboot of the universe. The Time Vortex has chosen him to be her champion. The Silence are trying to kill him because, to continue to play on Douglas Adams, he's "42" and they don't like that answer and they're trying to eradicate him to force a better knowledge of The Question. The Doctor can enter the Total Perspective Vortex without going insane precisely because he is the most important person in the Universe.
Although... "If anyone ever discovers what the universe is and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more inexplicable."
I wonder if the Vortex and the Well know each other?

Weird thought: Amy is the Doctor and River's biological daughter. Those parents at the wedding: adoptive parents who ceased to exist before Amy knew they were adoptive and thus were imagined back into existence by her as her real parents.

Weird start to part 2 of series 6. Next week's should hopefully be better.
Nice to see the guy who played Cass Cromwell in Outcasts doing something else sci-fi.
