There's workarounds. There's always been workarounds since globals were invented.

If they let it. They have the same choices as anyone else subjected to social pressures. And every one of those choices has its own consequences. Such is life. Sorry, Charlie, your tuna ain't special - it's just like the generic brand of chopped dolphin.

Funny, my mom and dad occasionally told me what to wear. Usually it was to tell me to wear a suit or dress clothes when going to church. They seemed to think that wearing jeans to church was taboo for some reason. I still dress comfortably without wearing revealing clothing. But then, I don't particularly care to wear clothes that shows off my curved spine. I never felt comfortable wearing button up shirts or slacks. I don't really care to freak people out by showing off the scar I got when I was in a Bicycle vs. Car accident at the tender age of 7 either. The pedal went through the leg, bone was showing; all that really cool gory stuff.

All that aside, I have still been checked out on occasion. Even took a girl I met at a bowling alley out on a couple of dates after she admitted to checking me out. I kind of got the impression that she liked me a little when I always seemed to get the lane right in front of is service desk where she was working.

Almost 7 years of PuGing, and I can recall maybe 3 or 4 instances of players revealing their gender, and I'm pretty sure they were all 'I'm cooking for my wife tonight, only got half hour folks. or 'hubbies home in 20, can we get this BAF done quick?' type reveals, ie likely to be indicative of one gender but not exclusively so. Can't recall any 'I am female/male!' declarations or any 'Hey, [Player X], are you a man or a woman?'. Usually the questions in PuGs are more on the lines of 'where are you from?'

I play the game for fun, and shouldn't have to worry about people living in their mothers basement or 13 year old boys who should be in school.
There's your problem solved. Just ask for a No Teamspeak server. Biggest immersion-breaking 'facepalm i ever met was using VoIP once. Hulking great big Stone tank thundering into combat like an impact from orbit...with a nasal whiny 12yr olds voice babbling utter shite. Horrific.

Same here. I don't remember anyone going "Hey, I'm a guy!" or "Hey, I'm a girl!" or asking anyone else if they were, either.

Wanted: Origin centric story arcs.
If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.

I've been hit on enough times while playing female characters to understand the OP's discomfort, but I agree that a "female only" server isn't the way to go.

....Of course, I have a much easier time dodging the issue- I've learned toinsert references to my wife early on ("Waiting for my wife to reboot. Her PC isn't that stable." or "I don't know much about the markets- that's the missus's specialty")

This is getting dangerously close to one of those "I'm not he or she" conversations. They make my head hurt.

Yes, occasionally, gender will come up in conversations. But, I can literally count the number of times, on one hand, I've had it come up for me in the 7 years I've been here.
I agree that best one of handling creeps is ignore when ingame. But I reject your idea that rl women are asking for it (leer/harrassment/worse) soley by what they are wearing.

I've seen one bio that proudly stated "I'm a girl". It also stated how 'nasty' they were, and how all sorts of erp were fine, so I took it with a grain of salt.

Seriously though I'm in agreement, although did meet a woman onetime that didn't live to shabby and she had 11 kids, husband is an electrician - dude must do really well.
In a good economy and the right place, an electrician can make a good living. *dads an electrician*

You honestly don't think that any woman that will willingly wear a blue sequined mini-skirt is asking to be looked at? You and GG seem to be living in the same reality.
