FEEDBACK: Steampunk costume parts.
Anyone Who wants to argue about my usual foolishness can find me here.

I'll miss you all.
I'm aware of the metal waistcoat/vest. What I'm talking about is the shirt detail, where it joins the sleeve. The jacket's shirt area does not match the texture of the sleeve area.
Since this is the Feedback thread, I'll just move this here. Repeating a few things but I think it needs pointed out
Ok, after playing with a few options now and looking at it a bit closer, a few more points/possible fixes.
1. Classic Steampunk 01 Sleeves - as Lye stated, the color pattern is off. It has to do with the underlay being too bright/white I think.. or the pattern itself is blending too far into it. Here, the shirt and sleeve are using the same color but as you can tell, there is a quite a difference. Darker shades its somewhat more pronounced, however, lighter shades probably wouldn't have much of a difference. I would say darken the model skin under the texture (much like in the Uniform Sleeves).
2. The Victorian Steampunk 01 and 02 Long Coats - While I personally am not a big fan of this (I prefer the Magic coats) I would recommend one minor change. Rather then having the Coat and shirt linked for the first color option, I recommend doing what you did with the Magic coat. Linking just the coat/vest together while leaving the shirt option for another another color.
3. removing the Bow tie in Classic Steampunk (metal vest). This just doesn't look well and we already have a very nice bow tie available in chest detail that would work very well there.
While we are on the subject of collars/cravats, I would commend the artists on making realistic cravats but I sorely wished they would have made these as Chest Detail pieces rather then attached to the shirts themselves. I personally prefer mixing and matching colors of ties and use them quite often. I love the chest pieces and can't wait for the set still but I think it would have been better if they just remove the ties on all of them and have the Cravat as a chest detail.
4. Again, I beg all of the powers that be to have sleeveless jacket options. I would gladly trade in everything above if I knew this would be done.
5. I just discovered a slight bug with the male boots. When you choose the boots under Tights, the coloration becomes distorted and flat. The secondary color also doesn't show. This same thing occurs under all other leg options except tucked in.
Overall though, I am still impressed and can't wait for the pack.
The baked-in ties are very limiting and seem pointless since we already have bow tie and wide tie/cravat style options under the chest details. But since we're forced to have the ties in there, it's harder to use the vests in any sort of "outside the box" application. I thought the shiny vest would make a cool swashbuckler breastplate (even with the chain) and could have even swallowed the required sleeves but there's no way to get around that stupid bow tie.
Even better would be to just have the vests and be able to pick the under-shirt separately like 95% of the jackets in game.
I agree with Jophiel: the baked in ties are horrible and not needed. After the Magic Pack and the new Suit Jackets with all the new ties and such we can customize why can we not do that here with the Victorian clothing?
It looks like they used an older model and not the newer one which we have been using for a long time now for the base programing on the design for the jackets. I feel not being able to custom the ties seems very lazy to me and/or rushed.
They have proven they can split the ties and suits with great success but cannot with this Pack?! Makes no sense to me.
Also why we cannot access these jackets in Jacket Sleeveless is disappointing.
Why are the Victorian pants also only tucked in? Why not in Pants too?
And more Hair for men there are several hair styles of the Era that we do not have! Use them!
Facial hair. The Abe Lincoln beard and the Handlebar Mustache work but what about adding a Beard to the Handlebar Mustache? In the Victorian Era there were a lot of facial styles we do not used today!
And how about a PIPE! Yeah! A Pipe! That you smoke!
On the Women
The Jackets for a Woman are a joke. No idea what they did to base this on but not that good. The corsets are Okay but once again this is show the most flesh off as possible in our designs.
Why do the male characters get two sets of gloves and the women no?
The Hat is good but the Curly Hair should also be an option for women without the hat.
I was hoping for more Steampunk Metal pieces but alas nothing on that. Backpack is cool proving yes you can make backpacks something that the designers say they could not do.
I should actually comment on the built-in tie-scarf-thing that the Victorian male jackets come in. Why couldn't that have been put in the Chest Details section? That way, we could pick if we want the scarf or not AND we could pick what colour it is, as opposed to always only black. Or, hell, at the very least, can we have a version of that jacket without the black scarf?
Furthermore, why are there uncolourable gold stitches on the Steampunk jacket and its associated sleeves? I can understand there being contrasting stitches, but why gold? Why not white or black or a colour of my own choosing? The same goes for any costume item that has brass on it, because everywhere there's brass, it's not colourable. The boiler backpack deserves special mention, because while it IS tintable, its base texture comes heavily pre-coloured, so any colour you stick on it is going to end up in the dirt spectrum anyway.
I really like the idea behind many of these costume pieces, but I really dislike how much of them is set in stone and not customizable. I mean seriously! How did a hat option without tintable hair ever even get approved?
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

There is no "Sleeveless Jacket" option for female Steampunk/Victorian jackets. I'm not sure if this WAI or is a bug, but it certainly feels like a bug to me.

I beg all of the powers that be to have sleeveless jacket options. |
I will, no kidding, pay extra for that. My very first, seven year old imported from a pen and paper game still using the same costume since I0 character was going to get a costume change, using the female victorian steampunk jacket with Bandeau Sleeve and Sleeves for gloves. I will shamelessly beg for you to let me do that, on knees, with flowers, with money, and anything I can reasonably manage.
The boots and gloves need to fit on all options that can take them. Same as the belts, chest details, etc. The womens boots being limited to tights and skirts only is really annoying, especially the shorter boots.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

First of HORRAY FOR BUSSLES!! I really thought the bussles were gonna end up tails. this is better for catgirls/ though would be cool to have the bussles in tail slot for use with non steampunk belts. maybe as well. if your not to conserned ablout stacking bussles.
I do seriously agree. and not just for the steampunk pack ive seen this for a few jackets. where jacket has the chest/jacket/sholder all rolled into one. while this does allow funky things like having 3 ties..... puting the shirt in chest the jacket in jacket the vest in chest details and the tie/neck bit in sholders would allow for more use in combination with other costume sets which is kinda the point having a lot of stuff packs.
this pack is especially funny as it had the vest the jacket and jacket/w vest as 3 different options for jacket where if vest was a shirt youd have only needed one vest one jacket and maybe been allowed the resources to stick a victorian jacket in sleaveless. steam punk is all about jacket/vests.
Note the girls accually do have awsome layering with the corsets being chest details and the bussles being able to be used with jackets... I am sad the new lacy neck peice cannot be worn with the bolero cause the bolero doesnt allow for sholder options... a neck slot would be nice.
Id love to see a matching glove for the victorian thigh high boot
of course we still want baron style jackets. give guys sholder pets and corsets *snickers* maybe thats an idea for a pack the costtume proliferation pack
where guys can get shorts... Sholderpets. some of the more nutral hairstyles and other female only guys want and girls can get baron coat.. Cigar... hairstyles ect ect..
and lastly id love to see some patern options for new parts that dont have them already.
a plaid bussle would be cool with all the plaid skirts we have.
Also an idea for a tail/belt... A big bow and or tuffs of lace. for a tail is cause the ribions would move capelike. Id love to see mainstream legg capes like widow/trench/bollero but just in the tail or belt slot.
Throwing my two cents into the thread, here. I reiterate from my previous post. The male hair should NOT be fixed colors. Please consider the two-color mapping issue here? Why was the hair sacrificed for the hatband?
I'd truly think the hatband should be the fixed color and let the hair and hat remain colorable if you must sacrifice something. The hair should not have been the sacrificed channel here as not all of us have brunettes.
This is a very bothersome feature to me, particularly as I have many male characters and most of them are redheads/white hair/blondes... etc ec.
Please rethink this?
Adding my tuppence.
There's also a clipping issue with the female chest options when wo
rn under a jacket. On anything but minimum chest sliders, the bustiers clip through the jacket front
And my support for gender proliferation of coats.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Well, first off, nice work on alot of the details so far. I like much of what was done with the Steampunk pack. However, like many here, I've noticed a few things that might want to be looked into.
1. I'm going to, right off, throw in my hat for Gender proliferation as well. While I agree with the idea of jackets being accessible by females, I would also like the same to be true about the Classic Steampunk 01 belt (The first one with the clock) accessible by males. Or possibly the little clock as a mod for, perhaps, the Retro Belt.
2. It would be nice to see the hairstyle used with the female hat to be accessible on it's own. It's a very nice look and would do well alone as well as with the hat.
3. While probably part of the whole 'Gender Proliferation' bit, I noticed the male Classic Steampunk boots are not accessible by females.
4. Alot of people seem to hit the Jackets issue pretty well. So I'll refrain from repeating the same thing (Though I do agree with them)
5. The Classic Steampunk Gloves for females seem to be single color only (Black + One choice). Why not dual color?
All-in-all though, not bad for what I've seen thusfar. Definitely got a customer for this here.

I discovered another issue, too. Female/Jacket/Sleeves/Classic Steampunk 01 ignores the chest pattern, and just uses bare skin for the rest of the arm. Why is this a problem? Observe:
Don't tell me to just use the other sleeves, this should totally be a valid option.

As stated before, the female bustiers clip horrible with most of the other jacket options as well as the boleros. Even with the minimum set.

D'you know, I just went back and looked at the trailer, and noticed something baffling: the chap in the frock coat in the video has a dark coat, red vest and white shirt - an obviously logical and visually pleasing combination, but impossible in-game!
I'm boycotting this pack.
I plan to continue boycotting this pack until such time as the developers make the coats available for the woman body type. I play female characters almost exclusively, and I am vastly dissatisfied with my only options being a corset and a set of sleeves. There is no truly good reason not to let women have some more coats in the baron/steampunk coat style. There is, in fact, every reason to do so. Not every woman character out there needs to parade around in a steel brassiere.

I'd really like to buy the pack, I love packs, it's an awesome way to do revenue, it's a wonderful way for me to get things I want.
I want coats for my female toons.
My female toons are worthy of badass coats. So are yours. Testify here, people. We can have it all if we just holler for it.
I'll buy the pack when I get to let my female toons wear the coat.

Rather than open a new thread for every issue for each piece individually I'll collate them here.
First up; complaints. Male items:
Both hats: It'd be great to be able to colour the hair for these items. Currently it's the same shade of dark brown. Some people do play blonde men y'know
Classic Steampunk beard: This uses an alpha channel, I believe, which has the nasty side-effect of chopping out anything which would sit behind it, detail here:-
See how the line of the shirt collar, and the cravat, are erased behind the beard's alpha channel? That just looks bad to me. If there is anything you can do to prevent that happening it'd be great.
Classic Steampunk jacket/sleeves: A couple of things stand out for this one. Firstly, the texture of the shirt part of the jacket is reflective/shiny. It looks bad, personally. A matte cloth would be appreciated. Secondly, the shirt texture doesn't match the Classic Steampunk sleeve, which has the matte, woven finish:-
See that nasty texture discrepancy? Take note that the shade of brown used for the jacket's shirt part and the sleeve is identical on the colour chart. A similar texture and shade discrepancy exists between the Victorian Steampunk 03 jacket and VS 02 sleeves:-
That's it so far as the male costume parts go. Now onto the (admittedly few) complaints about the female items.
Perhaps my only serious gripe is the fact that the Magic Bolero clips something terrible with the new chest details. This is a complete shame, as they would have and could have looked stunning together.
Victorian Steampunk 01: Here you can see that there's a black section of untintable texture. I hope this isn't WAI, as I'd like to be able to have that section match the rest of the outfit:-
The Classic Steampunk jacket for women also suffers the same problem.
Smooth/bare CS gloves: Only one colourable channel, forcing black +another colour? Come on, guys, you're slipping. Can we have two colour channels for these gloves please?
Boots: The only thing I ask about these is that the Classic Steampunk boots be enabled on Tucked In pants, to let them be matched with Resistance leggings.
Other problems have been covered in other threads so I won't repeat what people like Zombieman have said.
And so end the complaints, now for some positive feedback.
The components you've added are gorgeous. This is one guaranteed sale you've got waiting!
