I'm not too worried that the artists are going to have their feelings hurt. I'm certain they have a realistic view about what they are paid to do. I'll bet you a buck that the artists would have a ball designing a really fabulous coat for the ladies.

We've been told outright that the allocation of manpower is based on economy. It's got very little to do with artistic freedom and a pile of artists chomping at the bit to make two fairly similar male jackets and as many female corsets as time allows.

I realize that this isn't a line of reasoning that flatters the game or the development team. I realize it's an uncomfortable topic. But it's there, and there are quite a few of us paying customers who aren't too happy about it.

I don't think it needs to be talked into the ground, I think the sexism is really pretty obvious, some people mind, some don't. People who want the jackets for females should be comfortable letting the devs know that. Don't worry that you'll hurt someone's feelings, we're all grownups here and this is what feedback threads are for. If the devs can tell we'd like these jackets, then they'll make them. This is one of those beautiful issues where you can be desirous of something cool /and/ help make the world an infinitesimally better place for young women to grow up in.

Absolute costume parity ain't happening. We know that. But the jacket thing has struck a nerve, it's too cool to trade for sleeves, however cute and puffy. And we really have had a few too many skimpy/wimpy girl pieces of late. Sure the development team is pretty good about things like that compared to industry standards, and this is why I think they'll listen to us.

Sex sells, sure, comic tradition, sure, core demographic, yeah, but…

You out there…got a gunslinger? Wouldn’t she look great in that Baron coat? Yep, she would. Got a vigilante with a bow? Can you see her on the roof, silhouetted against the moon, striking fear into the hearts of criminals in the Victorian coat? Got a Pirate? Mototrcycle Ninja? Spirit of Death? Private Investigator? There's plenty of precedent for this in the comics.

Post and let the devs know. They seem to be under the impression that very few people want the jackets for their female toons, that most people would rather have bustiers. This impression is what's guiding the "artistic decisions" made by the design team when they have to decide how to allocate time. You will note they did not decide to rook the male toons this packet and give them a pair of shirts, despite the fact that there is one less female model to design a fancy jacket for and the males already have a jacket that could have been adapted by adding in a Victorian trim option. If we don't let them know they will do it again next pack. They need to approach a jacket option as if it will be important to all three models.

As for the sexism bit...I have a daughter, she's almost old enough to play this game, and I was telling her about this pack and why I was iffy about buying it. Like most kids and teens she's not as cognizant of the bottom line, but she knows unfairness when she sees it. She was pretty disgusted.

Girls are worth less effort. Girls don't get the nice jackets, girls just get underwear.

I'd really like to buy the pack, I love packs, it's an awesome way to do revenue, it's a wonderful way for me to get things I want.

I want coats for my female toons.

My female toons are worthy of badass coats. So are yours. Testify here, people. We can have it all if we just holler for it.

I'll buy the pack when I get to let my female toons wear the coat.

Hmmm...

1. Flight is just too cool. I also like both Hover and Air Superiority, so it's painless to get.

2. Super Speed is very, very fun on the hero end of things. I love cruising across Steel Canyon. Hasten's also nice to have. However, I found the power nothing but annoying on the villain side: too many pits and cramped streets.

3. I have a love-hate relationship with Teleport. I like Recall Friend and Teleport Foe, and it's nice to speedily 'Port around the city's skies. Unfortunately, it only reaches its full utility in combination with Hover.

4. I've never even tried Super Jump. It just doesn't appeal all that much, especially when I can take Flight instead.

Personally, I prefer character over toon. Then again, I am an elitist SOB.
