I've gone from being @Fea to @Belus - I know there were going to be clashes and they had to make a way to decide who has precedence, but I wish it had been based on Vet time or something instead. If someone had the global of @Fea longer than me then that's that.
Still, email has been sent, and I'm hoping I might get to have my name back if it's a dead account. Foolish perhaps, but that's what I'm going with.

Sigh, despite having the name on the forums, and since the game first became a part of the household, @Cambo was taken.
Keeping with the originality that this occasion demands, you will now know me as @EU-Cambo
The second account has also lost the @Junior name (it was my son's, and not used much now he is at Uni, although he still has all the Union server characters under the main account). I will leave it with him as to what name that will change to.
Now to go and change the signature and then update the various binds for the chat channels that now need an "EU" added.
But.....wow, massive shiny server list. I can feel severe altitis coming on!

I hate to say this but...this isn't really a global merge...it an EU rollup to NA.
Also, it's sad but your names are probably being bumped by inactive users.
They should have done the reactivation weekend first and told everyone if they didn't sign on they would lose this NA globalIDs to EU members. Active members should have been given priority over all else(vet, badges, etc.).
Renamed to be @Knightingale.
(Note the fullstop/period at the end.)
Not perfect but close enough to what I was.
Worse though is now my Global colour has become a baby poo green rather than the nice turquiose I was before. 
I miss my colour.

Believe it or not, but the way they chose to do this really does affect the least amount of people, and is the least amount of work both NCSoft and the players have to do to make it work.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

To be honest, I kinda expected it, but I would have been a lot happier about it if they could have given precedence to the longer-standing one instead; at least that way if I lost it, I would have known it was to somebody who had the idea first.

My global got shafted too...
It was my forum name I got after I got forum priority over an inactive NA account.
Now guess what, that same dead account just got my @Global
I want it back nao...

Yeah, I'm not happy as you can tell, doesn't help the latest NCsoft Security Measures actually don't work and annoy customers more than they act as a deterrent.
You have to authorise any dynamic IP you get from your ISP each time, as such anyone getting the IP address next time only needs your Acct name and pass as it was before the changes.
Someone tell NCsoft not everyone has a fixed IP address yet!!!
(We may with IP6 but as it's currently IP4...)

While this is true, it's the fact the number of people who would *potentially* be affected would be much higher if they'd gone with a mixed approach, meaning before the deed a lot more people would be wondering if they were going to be renamed.
I'd still have gone with a fairer mechanism myself, but I can see why someone in NCSoft decided "Hey, lets just weigh it against the EU players so at least the entire player base won't be wondering / worried about their globals".

I can understand Account names
(Database Key ID - Non Editable - EU were edited pre merger in the offline EU DB from what I can tell.)
But @Globals we get rename tokens to change these so they are in an editable field...
What stopped them running a script to go through the 2 databases and de-list @Globals on inactive accounts, yes they changed trial ones but not the inactive ones.
(I know my NA @Global counterpart is inactive because they were when we had the original forum merger, when I fought for my forum name then and got it, now I have to fight again for my global.)
Nor did they take into account our Forum names which in several cases happened to match our @Globals...
NCsoft and Rednames (Devs) know how I feel, so I'll wait for a bit and see what happens, but I hope something is sorted Soon as my current @Global is the name of the last character I created not the last character I logged in...
I would change it, but I'm not willing to give up the rename token yet!!!
