  1. While in Sharkhead:
Personally I like the mission arc from Diviner Maros. The missions from Crash Cage lead up to Maros' stories so they might be worth running as well.

Later on (mid-thirties) you should visit Technician Naylor in Nerva Archipelago.

For lower alts I would recommend seeing Marshal Brass in Cap au Diable - I never get bored of that story.
  2. Poltergeist

    New Dark Astoria

Having just googled images from Wayne Barlowe (really like his style, by the way) I only see a connection in the broadest sense: a preference in demonic/alien creatures.

Personally I think the tyrannid/zerg connection is bigger.
  3. Had the same problem while playing with a friend. We weren't able to harm the last mob while he was stuck but leaving the mission completely and going back in again reset his position.
  4. @Changa - a rather obscure alt nowadays but I thought I'd go for a shorter name which will help when mailing stuff to myself.

All in all I'm not too miffed - lucky enough to have kept my forum handle during the merger.
  5. The lag, while bad in Atlas Park, was much less noticable once our league moved to PI-2.

Plus I got a few rare salvage drops so it's not a complete loss in my eyes.

Having said that I'm unsure if I'll join another invasion before the Freedom one. Getting badges for defeating the named Praetorians would have been a nice touch. But then again I can see that opening another can of worms. :-/
  6. Odd, I usually get the next tip while running a tip mission. And that's true for multiple toons.
  7. Okay, just checked it out. Ran down there with a male toon and got the 'Clockwork-Mechanikerin' which is incorrect as you had guessed. I don't have a female toon in Pretoria to check if this is simply switched or not but that's one step to the solution at least.

I also went ahead and bugged it.

Edited to add: The correct badge name for a male toon would be 'Clockwork-Mechaniker'.
Also, if you need any help testing other German stuff with the client just give me a shout.

    Europe United

Right, Zukunft now has the 'European Confederation'. Eventually I will set up the 'Syndicate' villain-side but I haven't got a char without a VG right now.
If you want to join it's best to try here or via PM as my gaming schedule is kinda off at the moment. Be advised though that server and client will give you a mix of English and German. Also, don't expect stuff like HeroStats to work properly for pretty much the same reason.

Have we decided on colours and symbol yet?
  9. Poltergeist

    Europe United

Wow, seems I'm very late to the party! But as a player on 3 of our servers I really think it's a great idea and hope for good attendance.

I'll join the global channel this evening and am likely to start in Praetoria, so no SG for me...yet. I actually have no recollection which of my existing chars is without an SG so I'll have to check everyone manually.

From the numbers on Zukunft (before I18/GR hit the servers) I would guess that many players have already migrated to the 'english' servers. I'm not sure if posting on the German part of this forum makes much sense - last post there is 3 weeks old. Might still do it if I come around to it.

    See you ingame!
  10. If it's any help - I've got the same problem...

Although I was able to work around this when selecting the appropriate language/region and accessing the forums that way. Of course I have to agree that it's just a hassle to do so.
  11. German (native)
English (love it! My vocabulary is good but I don't get to speak as much as I'd like)
French (Acceptable vocabulary, so reading is mostly okay. Speaking or understanding depends on the situation)
Spanish (very basic vocabulary, no grammar at all)
Welsh (still working on pronounciation, no vocabulary)
  12. Possible or not - it seems like the smartest idea to merge the server lists.
As others said I do not want to leave my gallery of heroes/villains behind or start them again. Plus I really like the Vet rewards and would rather keep them than earn them once again.
Of course I have noted the decline in players online on Defiant and Union (Zukunft as well but I know that some have moved to Union or Defiant).

Thinking about the bigger list of servers to choose from I can only say:
    Yes, please!

PS: I've always been half-jokingly telling friends who don't get my fascination with the game that I'd be there till the servers shut down. That's still true however you look at it.

If you are still having trouble with the game trying a new installation, you should create a shortcut of the cohupdater.eu.exe - don't forget to add the '-test' as usual.

The solutions posted here worked fine for me. EU-user with XP btw.
  14. Ouch, so much for my memory! I'll try to follow up with a screenshot anyway.

    But thanks for the answers.
  15. Ok, my use of 'search' didn't turn up anything...

While flying through Skyway recently I noticed new (at least to me) construction of what looked like another 'skyway'. It's located very close to the big east-west skyway that leads to Talos.
(I didn't think to note the exact location so I'd have to follow up with coordinates at a later time if you can't find it)

I've been to Skyway many times now but this was so new to me that it stuck out. One raised part of a skyway is ready - slightly lower than the big ones. Further to the east you can see several foundation blocks with copper poles standing out.

Has anyone noticed this as well or have I just never seen it until now?

True. Although the numbers are sometimes nearly equal to those of Defiant. Then again, just the english client/no German server is likely to scare the rest away. I know of enough Germans who are not that confident in their grasp of English. Of course that would be the worst-case scenario for Zukunft.
  17. I really would like access to a combined server list.
Of course there are some possible troubles to be sorted out first:

Global names - Maybe they could change the global names as they did with the forum merger? Although I guess that might kill the global friends lists...

Different Clients (particularly German and French) - Personally I wouldn't mind having to install two separate clients of the game if every other solution fails.

Lag - Can't actually see any problems as it seems that quite a number of Europeans are already playing on US servers and I don't see them complaining.

So, all in all? Yes, please!
  18. The German server is not very busy. On average I would say there are about 40-50 villains online during peak hours. For heroes you can double that number. Weekends might see more than that.

Then again I know a lot of us are playing on Defiant and Union as well just for that reason. Of course it really doesn't solve the problem. On a positive note the atmosphere on Zukunft is much more familiar. Although I will concur that it would not look too good for newcomers.

My guess would be that Spanish has quite a few active speakers. If I remember correctly Defiant had a good bit of Spanish chatter a few years back.
  19. Here's my dwarf:

    and with alternative costume

and my (rather cliche) Viking currently residing on Test only:

    Also, do undead pirates count?

Plus there's several demonic types and one angel I can add if you're interested.
  20. Hi!

    GM Take Down

I would have loved to join but just as the message for Eochai (don't know which one) came up, my system crashed. Didn't get a blue screen in ages!!!
Still a few days of Halloween madness left...
  22. Just wanted to say a quick thanks for the good fights yesterday. When I PVPed before it was at larger events and there was much bickering and whining...not yesterday! I will try to come more often if it's always that relaxed.

Oh yeah - been playing with Bloodshade (Dark/Dark Brute) but I think I need a few more SOs.
So, I hope to see you soon!

    Naming minions

    The Dead Captain
    has following minions:

    Zombies - Landlubber, Deckscrubber, Sailor
Grave Knights - Helmsman, First Mate

I'm close to Lvl 26 now and will then make the Lich 'First Mate' and come up for another name for one of the Grave Knights.

  25. Poltergeist

    is it just me...

I have to admit that the dominator feels quite right for me. With my toon at level 23 there are enough powers to choose from which will help the team.
Depending on team size and difficulty domination can kick in quite often (there are even times when I forget to activate it ). When soloing I usually get to fire it up at least twice but I also tend to save for something big.

You probably are right that dominators are the least played AT but maybe all the controller fans want to try out something else.

I'm not sure about the damage but I wouldn't think the dominator damage output is lower than that of a corruptor or even a mastermind.

Plus, your team will be grateful if you can hold or slow down the second or third boss when they're still busy with the first.

    That's my opinion anyway!
