Lofty title, so let me explain.
First read THIS Thread.

I did get intrigued by this idea and the possibility of playing with more players then just my home server (union). Being idealistic I thought hey, lets do what we can to get a better community. Having a global channel where everyone can talk and get to know each other. Maybe even find a team etc.
I realize that we DO have lots of channels for this, so yes this will in the end be a little specialized aswell.
Cause the idea of having a huge amount of players creating a sg base from scratch would be fun. It would be sort of "This is a base we all contributed to" Team spirit and all that.
So the Channel will be as time goes on limited to the people that join that SG/Coalition.

So since there was a little discussion and people showed interest and we had a few names for various sg well, lets get the ball moving.

If there still is interest then well do join in the channel and lets get the discussion to continue (as well as getting a decision).

Server:

Being from union i'ld obviously prefer union. However since this will be a European sg i would certainly like to have an alt in Union, Defiant and Vigilance. 3 servers will be enough to keep me busy [I just want to team with people like Beber again on the french server! Watch out im "going rogue" as they say ]

Allignment:

I dont see how we cant have one on each side really. We have players who prefer each side of the game and if each supergroup/villaingroup are able to run side by side with an open door policy of automatically inviting a rogue hero/villain to their group, then i cant see either one failing in the slightest.

Name:

For the hero side i really like the name of Europe United We have the stars pattern which you could say looks a BIT like the EU flag too.
Villain group i like the "not dead yet" name or the European black sheep.

AT limits:

Personally i think each member of the supergroup should be allowed the following:

• Their main hero/villain in the group if desired.
• 2 praetorian characters
• A 60 day kicked limit. However when betas/new issues are released and more players play on the test server than live, should be increased to 90 days. If a player gives notice of not being able to log in during that time due to personal/real life issues but wants to remain in the group then make a note of who it is and if its within a reasonable timeframe, then allow it obviously Unless its like a 2 year timeframe!
• Regular events/competitions. There are quite a few things EU side that we dont do nowhere near enough due to a lack of communication between players. I know sals/UTF/UC/defiant events [only ones i know of sorry!] are some of the best event channels out there but hopefully this will get more people involved. Hopefully some new players and people we've all never teamed with before too

Server
My defiant slots are pretty full, although I still have the option of three more slots waiting to be allocated to a server.

I'm not worried which server we go to as it's the taking part that counts.

Alignment
There should be a hero and a villain group so people can be involved on their favourite side.

Names
If it doesn't upset non-Union players, I like European Union. Failing that, I agree with Damz on the Europe United name for the heroes.

As to villains, Euro Trash or European Outcasts.

Myself I am very partial to European Confederation (hero) and European Syndicate (villain). Thus not tying it up to a specific server.
However we should probably have a few names (incase the one we would like to have already has been taken).

Yes, we should be on a few servers.

Added rule to channel would be, open for all languages, (thus making it possible for all 4 servers to participate, as well as non-server tied languages) with English as default.

More should chip in on which names you like, and soon we should make those Sg's/vgs.
In any event it is clear for now that we should have a superhero and a supervillain sg, probably one group on each server.
Also Alts in the beginning would be ok, I do believe though that if we get near the max amount of players in the sg, that alts are freed up and goes into either a Coalition group designed to accept these alts or.. where they player want them to go.

(The following is only tied to server names, I do not say union is hero, defiant is villain. Its late so I had a weird idea tied to server names. European Union (hero), European Defiance (villain).
Broadly we could understand it with (We are united here on the servers on Union. We are Still alive and kicking living in Defiance (to any segregation)))

This idea still appeals to me so I'm willing to give it a go. Outside of my regular RPSG meet ups, I'm free for most teaming/events etc.

I'm relaxed as to which server. Union is my home so I've got most of my alts there but I can probably make some space. It's the participation that counts to I'll go wherever. A hero and villain group would also be a grand idea so that we can team on both sides. I already alt a lot as it is, so it shouldn't be too hard to limit myself to one for each side.

As for names, all of the ones suggested sound good to me although using European Union ideas would allow us to use the Euro flag as an emblem.

I'm still not sure how SGs/VGs are going to work with GR so I'm not sure when we can join them with Praetorian characters. But the channel should be a good tool for us to keep in contact. I'll apologise in advance for my limited French and even more limited German.

I quite like Europe United aswell and for Villains I'm thinking Unruly Europe, or European Unrest/Upset or somthing like that

As for server im good with either English speaking servers although I do have to say id perfer Union.

Hello, I am a French-speaking player, I find that it is one Good idea if that finished not at war by language ^^

It IS a good idea and something that the EU servers need.

We need that global channel. (Check) We now have it (open for all).
It will be the global network that binds us together.
We will need a forum thread (or two) here on the forum, or our own forum if needed. If we are going to have an SG... (Here on the forum, easy enough to do)

The other thing to do is making some form of sg presence, for those of the players that wants to create a new base from scratch together. (Not that you cannot join with characters you already have and play with chars you already have and they DO NOT need to drop their sg to join/play!)

And thus languages becomes an issue to solve. Union and Defiant has English as default mission/content language. Vigilance has French and Zukunft has German.
& Some players has ONE server as their home. And sadly (me in example), my french and german skills are lacking. I wonder if it is reversed for the french and german community (on the english)?

So far its proposed to have atleast a base on each of union and defiant.
I wonder if we can put up a poll or something. Unless we have to make another thread with various suggestions and people posting their "vote".

I agree with Damz, we should bring any suggestions to the table fast and decide quickly so we are ready for when GR hits us.

I love this idea, still can't play as much as I'd like due to work, but would log in and support this.
All my slots on defiant are full, but Union, Vigilance and Zukunft have slots free.

(Chosen Federation [of the] EU) the FEU then gives us "Few" and "Fire" in French.

With the free server transfers coming soon, I'll be moving a few 50s to Union. I'd be interested in joining.

I joined the channel last night. I'm really looking forward to seeing this idea develop.

I'll join when I get back from holiday (28th). I'd be happy to take a managerial role of some sort if needed, I've done this sort of thing before.

Edit: Something like Shafted Union (blue) and Outcast Union (red) might work.

That will be up to the players, really.
As I envision it though it will act as a "private"/additional SG channel for the project. One way to get hold of all the players in the sg-project.
Pity though with no praetorians being able to join an active sg. Oh well.

The channel could be used to get a team going (specially at launch), discuss various things: Like future of the channel, general talk of anything, advice etc.

I have to get a few OP's for the channel.

The more people in the channel great, cause then we have a big userbase, but I'm not planning to make this an alternative channel (and compete) with already established channels and thus "compete".
I imagine when we get up and running the base could even be used as a global CoP base etc, atleast on that side.

For Servers and launch:
Lets us create some characters on both Union and Defiant for now.

I suggest Heroes for Union and villains for Defiant? But I'm game for switching it.

Best way to advertise would be at launch of GR announce the channel and project in broadcast in Nova.

Mention the project and channel also in Union chat and its counterpart on Defiant.

I'm sure Damz will alert our Vigilance brothers and sisters, but who will tell our Zukunft part of the family?

Unless we get the go-ahead of any of the Op's in the channel, do not advertise "out of the blue" in that channel.

On the How:
Channel is for all 4 servers, in an effort to bring us all closer together. We plan to make bases atleast on union and defiant and making it together.
You do not have to leave your current SGs (that would be a SHAME and unacceptable).
Sg'wise it will be for everyone. That means roleplayers are welcome, casual gamers are welcome, powergamers are welcome, badgers are welcome... in short everyone. (As long as they are not rude, obnoxcious etc... you know the kind that you don't want in your sg anyway.)
Language-wise, all are welcome. Etc

This sounds like a nice li'l thing you're all putting together. I'll be one of those staying in my current SG with my characters, as I'm happily set in my ways with them, but I'll definitely be joining the channel on that empty, unused tab I've had sitting around when I get on tomorrow.

Nice to see the community giving back to itself.

We had a little discussion on the channel and so far though we have come to this:
We have the option of TWO ideas; 4 SG's on 2 servers or 2 SG's on 2 Servers:
4 Sg's on 2 servers:
It might be good to create 1 hero and one 1 villain sg on each of the english servers. That means 4 in total.
The Pro: Sg when switching alignment etc prestige would be "kept in the family". As its just to quit the former sg and join the counterpart.
No matter what side you favor you will thus have a base.

The Con: I have a feeling we will still keep playing on our "home" server. Creating 2 hero sg's and 2 villain sg's will seperate the playerbase from the start. Thus defeating in my opinion the community idea, as the only community would be the the Channel.

I myself see the Con as the biggest issue with this idea. It do not contribute that well with the community making vision. There will be 4 sg's, but various progress on each SG, and a heck of a lot to administrate over.
(It is the Vinnie the Poh approach though)


The other solution is that One server takes our villain character(s) and one server takes our Heroe(s).
Pro: More activity in both SG's. More interaction between the players from different servers.
Con: Makes things hard If your going to shift your alignment later (no secondary home)

The Important question though is; HOW much side switching do you tend to do with these characters anyway? If you intend to do it a lot, then the 4 sg/2server idea is the best. If you do not intend to do it that much, then the 2 SG/2Server idea would be best.

I'm going to leave that up to you guys. We still have time before the launch and it will take 1 or 2 days to get out of Praetoria.
