Zukunft is my home server and I have always played with the client set to English. The translations to German have always been ranging from okay over ridiculous to plain horrible or none existant (too many p-strings instead of text to count). So my reaction to this announcent was actually YES!! THANK GOD!!

There are so few players remaining on Zukunft who don't speak English and don't have characters on English servers anyway that I can't see this change really mattering much.

Actually it might prove beneficial for the server population as it allows English speaking players to create characters there and play without a language barrier.

I prefer the 4 SGs version since it allows greater freedom in changing sides.

Current status is that any arcs that suffer from this problem will still go invalid but are not flagged as invalid anymore so the only way for the author to find out if they are still valid is to check them regularily by trying to start them.

I bring bad news... It seems the problem is not as resolved as we would like it to be after all.

When I try to start an arc from Zukunft now and it doesn't start it does not get marked as invalid anymore or disappear from search. BUT when I now try to start it from Union it doesn't start from there anymore either.

So basically they have just removed the invalid flag but trying to start it from Zukunft or Vigilance still seems to break it. Which means the only way to find out if it is still valid (startable) now is to regularily try starting it yourself and republishing if it doesn't work anymore.

Well I have yet to find a way to find out WHAT exactly is wrong with arcs that are unplayable from Zukunft. One of mine is like that and neither the English nor the German client is showing any errors. My best guess is that it is some word that is okay for the English lists of blocked words but not for the German list but WHAT exactly it is I have no way of telling.

Blech! And there I was hoping to get a new box with up to date dvds so I don't have to download 12 issues when I do a reinstall. At least now I know I can go buy a magic booster...

Will we at some point in the not too distant future get a European version of the new Architect Edition box? Or do only the Americans get the actual box? I've been browsing my usual shopping sites and none even announce the box.

Rechecked after today's patch. Problem unchanged.

I've done some more testing on this. Here's the further findings:

- I can start the arc from Defiant without making it invalid.

- If I try to start it from Vigilance however I again can't start it and it becomes invalid.

- Again I just have to republish from Union or Defiant and it will be valid again.

So it obviously must be something about language.

Since we have a great mountain of arcs and sifting through all of them to find the great stuff can be difficult I though a recommendations thread would be nice. This is not for pimping your own arcs or those of your SG mates but to shout when you stumble across something that you think other will enjoy too.

Review: Very cool story idea and very funnily executed. The Costume changes Poshyp goes through alone are worth checking this one out. And the dialogues of the various devs are extremely funny as well. You may wanna bring some friends since you have to beat up various EBs (or AVs on high rep) though I didn't have any trouble with them on heroic with my blaster.

Review: A very good story with a real plot and much thought and love put into detail. Funny in some parts but all in all quiet serious. Brilliant custom critter design and the best pet ally I have ever gotten in any mish. Fights are challenging but never get too hard. I recommend a group for this mainly because the custom mobs real look coolest when there is a whole pack swarming you.

Description: There's a FOOD4AID program going on sponsored by Hero Corps, but it's not the only thing going to Russia! (First mission is supposed to fail. Seriously, it's just a plot device. Don't try to complete it.)
Review: Really cool and creative kick off for this arc. It's simple and still manages some very funny twists. Fusionette's guest appearance is hilarious and very in character. And the end is very satisfying.

Okay... this is a bit long and convoluted so bear with me.

I have written an arc in English on the English Client. I have done this on the German server. It shows up as having no errors. However I can't test the arc. When I try to test I get the accept field and when I click it nothing happens. When I try to publish it I get various error messages (not the same one consistently) like contact invalid, text field xy contains obscene/copyrighted text.

Now when I log over to an English server (Union) I CAN suddenly test and I can also publish without problem. I can also play the published arc and so can others.

When anyone on the German server tries to play the arc however they can't. They hit play and nothing happens.

Now after this happens, I (still on Union) can't start the arc anymore either and it doesn't show up on search anymore. It has somehow become invalid.

If I now republish it (without changing anything in it) it becomes playable again on Union.

As soon as anyone tries to play it from Zukunft (the German server) it again becomes unplayable.

We have now tested that with another arc that had the same problem of suddenly becoming unplayable and it was the exact same thing.

So my guess is that some arcs have something in them that makes them incompatible with the German server and therefore flags them as invalid after they have encountered problems with being played from there.

And it seems it's a lot of arcs that suffer from this. About 3/4 of the arcs I try to start from Zukunft don't work. If all of them go invalid as soon as I try them...

Aus deiner Aussage, dass es Zukunft damals noch nich gab schlussfolgere ich mal, dass du dir damals einen US-Account gemacht hattest. US und Europa sind immer noch getrennt.

Wenn du deinen alten Account spielen willst musst du den US-Client benutzen und kannst dann auf den Ami-Servern spielen. Und natürlich vorher Abo erneuern.

Wenn du auf den Euro-Servern spielen willst... uhm... da gabs mal ein Account Transfer von Ami auf Europa aber sobald mir bekannt ist, gibt's den nicht mehr aktuell. Daher müsstest du dir dann denk ich einen neuen Account machen bzw. dein Trial auf Voll-Account upgraden.

It's tuesday afternoon now and Zukunft has still not seen any zombie invasion apart from that very first one sunday night. Could someone please look into this?
