This threads getting disappointingly little use compared to the "Pimp My Own Arc" variations Let's see if we can change that a little: KeeperOfSorrows activated the Thread Necromancy power.
Name: Adventure of the Ghost Generator
Author: @Aiya Ashby
Arc ID: 3054
Language: English
Alignement: Hero
Length: 5 Missions
Difficulty: solo
Description: A tale of love and loss, in 5 acts. A young girl walks up to you on a dark night, tears streaming down her face, and sends you on an adventure you wouldn't believe.. unless you were there. Solo-friendly, story-heavy. Recommended 20+
Review: Very nicely done story. The map selection can get a little repetitive, but is mostly necessary with the limitations of the MA at present.
Name: Fames in Victus
Author: @Copse
Arc ID: 6467
Language: English
Alignement: Hero
Length: 1 Mission
Difficulty: Solo
Description: If you are what you eat, do you eat what you are? According to the Hamidon, Yes. Yes you do.
Review: Silly but fun single mission, but with some nicely done custom critters and two strangely familiar allies...
I very much enjoyed this one:
"Whatever Happened To The Cockroach Crusader?"
by @AlEwing
Arc Id: 67280
Language: English
Alignement: Hero
Length: 4 Missions (two failable)
Difficulty: solo (with decent soloist) or group (for squishies and to avoid failing mishes)
Enemies: Custom and Freakshow, at least two EBs
Description (author's own): Something is deeply wrong with Roachman, the Midnight Manhunter of Paragon City. Ever since his arch-nemesis, Day-Glo the Flourescent Man, died falling from the Atlas statue, Roachman's been getting grimmer and grimmer. When Day-Glo returns from the dead, Roachman's the only one who could possibly stop him. But Roachman's vanished from the face of the earth...
My thoughts: Extremely well-written arc with a great (perhaps a little too foreshadowed) twist, smart dialogue throughout and one custom villain group likely to put a big smile on the face of any Silver Age comics fans. The EBs are pretty tough (especially Day Glo, who two-shotted my purpled-out Widow O.o) but nonetheless rewarding. The final mission makes a quite inspired use of one of the cave transition maps, to boot. Five stars from me!
Cancelled in Three - MA ID #34608. Please play and comment! Top 10 placing in Projectionist's MA contest!
One I enjoyed a lot was Alley KAT Blues.
Unfortunately my memory is terrible and I can't remember some details but here's what I can remember:
Language: English
Length: 4/5 missions
Difficulty: Soloable, except the EB at the end tends to run a lot.
Enemies: Arachnos, Custom and Family(?)
I enjoyed it a lot. It was well written, fun to play. The EB at the end is pretty annoying since he runs around a lot and sometimes the allies can be a bit dopey but fun nonetheless.
Since we have a great mountain of arcs and sifting through all of them to find the great stuff can be difficult I though a recommendations thread would be nice. This is not for pimping your own arcs or those of your SG mates but to shout when you stumble across something that you think other will enjoy too.
Here's some I've enjoyed a lot so far:
Name: The Rise and Refall of Pets'n'Things.com
Author: @ShadowVulpine
Arc ID: 1061
Language: English
Alignement: Hero
Length: 4 Missions
Difficulty: solo
Enemies:
- Type: no EB / no AV
- Groups: 5th Column, Council
Description: The 5th Column are back and only you and a mysterious voice from a crate stand in their way as a plot thickens with Warwolves, defunct dot-coms and evil takes shape.
Review: Great Story, funny with nice twists and some AWESOME use of canon factions. Hilarious dialogues!
Name: Where's My Signature Character?
Author: @Fox Sterling
Arc ID: 4372
Language: English
Alignement: Hero
Length: 4 Missions
Difficulty: solo
Enemies: several EBs
Description: Help Pohsyb convince the others he needs a signature character.
Review: Very cool story idea and very funnily executed. The Costume changes Poshyp goes through alone are worth checking this one out. And the dialogues of the various devs are extremely funny as well. You may wanna bring some friends since you have to beat up various EBs (or AVs on high rep) though I didn't have any trouble with them on heroic with my blaster.
Name: Dollapalooza
Author: @xany
Arc ID: 2273
Language: English
Alignement: Hero
Length: 5 Missions
Difficulty: solo
Enemies: 2 EBs, 1 AV (on high rep)
Description: Children are disappearing from Paragon City. Discover the source of the disappearances and rid the city of a new menace!
Review: A very good story with a real plot and much thought and love put into detail. Funny in some parts but all in all quiet serious. Brilliant custom critter design and the best pet ally I have ever gotten in any mish. Fights are challenging but never get too hard. I recommend a group for this mainly because the custom mobs real look coolest when there is a whole pack swarming you.
Name: Hero Corps: To Russia with Intrigue!
Author: @bigangry
Arc ID: 6583
Language: English
Alignement: Hero
Length: 3 Missions
Difficulty: solo
Enemies: 1 EB
Description: There's a FOOD4AID program going on sponsored by Hero Corps, but it's not the only thing going to Russia! (First mission is supposed to fail. Seriously, it's just a plot device. Don't try to complete it.)
Review: Really cool and creative kick off for this arc. It's simple and still manages some very funny twists. Fusionette's guest appearance is hilarious and very in character. And the end is very satisfying.
