  1. KeeperOfSorrows: What?! What?!
Sleestack: Are you the KeeperOfSorrows who trolled the forums for all those years?
KeeperOfSorrows: The stinking new moderator banned me. And thank you so much for bringing up such a painful subject. While you're at it, why don't you TP grief me and stick me on the ignore list? We're closed!
    (Sleestack sends another PM)
KeeperOfSorrows: Beat it, or I'll call the brute squad.
ShoNuff: I'm on the brute squad.
KeeperOfSorrows: You are the brute squad!
Sleestack: We need a miracle. It's very important.
KeeperOfSorrows: Look, I've closed my account. Besides, why would you want someone the moderators banned? I might kill off whichever thread you want me to miracle.
    Sleestak: It's already dead.
KeeperOfSorrows: It is, eh? I'll have a look. Send me the link.
(After checking the link) KeeperOfSorrows: I've seen worse.
    Sleestack: Sir... Sir.
    KeeperOfSorrows: Huh?
Sleestack: We're in a terrible rush.
KeeperOfSorrows: Don't rush me sonny. You rush a threadomancer, you get a rotten threadomancy. You got money?
    Sleestack: Sixty-five Influence...
KeeperOfSorrows: Sheesh! I never worked for so little; except once and that was a very noble cause.
Sleestack: This is noble sir. The OP is... crippled... response threads on the brink of being caught in the housekeeping routines...
KeeperOfSorrows: Are you a rotten troll!
Sleestack: I need this thread to avenge my Fire/Fire Tank, lost since Issue 5, by flaming the Global Defence Nerf.
KeeperOfSorrows: Your first story was better. Where's that Google-cache scanner? It probably got you Reputation, huh? Well, I'll read it.
Sleestack: It's dead; you can't read it.
KeeperOfSorrows: Ooooh! Look who knows so much, eh! It just so happens that your thread here is only mostly dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Now, mostly dead is still slightly active. Now all dead... well, with all dead, there's usually only one thing you can do.
    Sleestack: What's that?
KeeperOfSorrows: Notify a mod and get them to lock it. Let's see, what's it got that's worth maintaining it for? (Checks Google-cache)
"This is my thread" thread: Hilarious.... postings....
Sleestack: Hilarious postings! You saw it! You could not ask for a more noble cause than that!
KeeperOfSorrows: Sonny, hilarious postings are the greatest thing in the world; except for a nice Hecatomb IO set. But that's not what it said! It distinctly read "Azeroth promotings". As as we all know, Azeroth is the world in WoW. So you were probably playing that other game and he was camping a spawn site...
Sleestack: This thread is the bane of the moderators life. If you threadomance it, it will force them to monitor it again.
KeeperOfSorrows: Wait, wait: I threadomance this, and all the mods have to suffer through it's appalling meme mangling?
    Sleestack: Groanings galore!
KeeperOfSorrows: Ha ha! That is a noble cause! Give me the sixty-five influence! I'm on the job. (Works on concocting a posting)
    Sleestack: That's a miracle posting?
KeeperOfSorrows: The sugar coated words make it easier to swallow. But you have to wait fifteen minutes before posting. And it shouldn't include hyperlinks for at least.... an hour!
    Sleestack: Thank you for everything.
KeeperOfSorrows: Bye bye! Have fun storming the forums!
  2. They're coming. The trolls are coming for you, but listen, you're life could depend on this: don't hyperlink, don't even hyperlink. Hyperlink and you're dead. They're fast, faster than you can believe. Don't hit the back button, don't alt-tab away, and don't hyperlink!

    Good luck.
  3. Would you like to say a flame?

    ...

A strange thread. The only way to avoid a ban is not to post. How about a nice game of City of Heroes?
  4. Hold on JD, I think I have a sledgehammer here somewhere so you can be a little more subtle on the requested reiteration of those details...

    Recommendations

This threads getting disappointingly little use compared to the "Pimp My Own Arc" variations Let's see if we can change that a little: KeeperOfSorrows activated the Thread Necromancy power.

Name: Adventure of the Ghost Generator
    Author: @Aiya Ashby
    Arc ID: 3054
    Language: English
    Alignement: Hero
    Length: 5 Missions
    Difficulty: solo
Description: A tale of love and loss, in 5 acts. A young girl walks up to you on a dark night, tears streaming down her face, and sends you on an adventure you wouldn't believe.. unless you were there. Solo-friendly, story-heavy. Recommended 20+
Review: Very nicely done story. The map selection can get a little repetitive, but is mostly necessary with the limitations of the MA at present.

    Name: Fames in Victus
    Author: @Copse
    Arc ID: 6467
    Language: English
    Alignement: Hero
    Length: 1 Mission
    Difficulty: Solo
Description: If you are what you eat, do you eat what you are? According to the Hamidon, Yes. Yes you do.
Review: Silly but fun single mission, but with some nicely done custom critters and two strangely familiar allies...
  6. Very cool khaine_star: what an excelently prompt response! Sadly, this means you'll make Dev
  7. Liking the new look. However, a quick suggestion: it would be nice to have the list of your own missions link to the pages to view any reviews, rather than having to find your own missions in the main list window.

    clues

While we're about it, we could do with "clue deletes on..." for pretty much all of those as well.
  9. Okay, I'm pretty ticked off too: I've had late nights almost this whole week crafting my "Who Clocks the Clockmen?" arc, and similar to JD, I've completely used almost every available bit of memory to craft my work...

    Review Thread

Go on, I'm game: A Darker Dawn ID:2502. Had been thinking of writing some myself...
  11. You could also do branching storylines with one person writing an arc for one option, while someone else writes the alternative. Someone did suggest this in another thread, but you are somewhat limited if attempting such a thing by one's self by only having the three arc slots.
  12. So should someone now post the clues found in the mission to this thread?
  13. KeeperOfSorrows

    NPC?

If you do as Damz says and you also set the Ally to Wander after "rescue", you can sometimes get the "stranded" and "reacquired" text to fire up. If you want the NPC to say the same thing each time you walk past, I suggest leaving "stranded" blank and having the same text as "rescue" copied into "reacquired".
  14. My favourite so far was from the Test Server was from the Fames in Victus single mission arc.

"Hey, remember that thing in the ship with the food monsters?"
"...and the government agents, and the really really freaked out crewmembers? Yeah, that was dumber than a tomato-sauce hose. I mean, did that even happen? Man, it's a good thing you don't have any souvenirs from that."
  15. Colour me intrigued also (what shade is that anyways?)
  16. Level 1-10
A Darker Dawn ID: 2502. Blue side.

Prompted by a comment some time ago by Ravenswing, this is intended to replace the starting arcs Hero-side for the more antihero inclined involving obtaining a conterfeit Hero ID. It has been tested with a few solo low level toons and seems to work well enough.

My favourite moment so far was when I entered a mission (a cargo ship) to discover that there were NO mobs at all...

My immediate reaction was 'oh oh!'

    Was great!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Was that a bug? If not, I'm really wanting to know how that was pulled off.
  18. I'll be using it predominantly to ease the pain of my altitis for early content, but once I reach a certain point I may switch back as I've still to experience the majority of the 35+ content, still not having a level 50 (and I just got my 48 month veteran badge too! )

They look quite cool, though it is a shame that we only seem to get new cossies by paying now.

Plus depending on how it works, I can see the fortune teller power being a pain.

You get enough idiots at Wentys/BM now, without some pillock debuffing you just before you go into Cimerora or something.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It does say "offer to read other's fortunes", so I'm guessing on something like the TP Friend confirmation box for the power.
  20. You don't need to change it: just get a squid on your team, as many hands make light work.

I considered EVE but am given to understand that you need to dedicate significant periods of time to get through the tutorial without dying of boredom.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Edited for accuracy. EVE is the ONLY game I've played where I've decided 'bugger this for a game of trousers!' before managing to complete the tutorial.

CoX has spoiled us. I personally thought Auto Assault was fun while it lasted.

Just found this... ok ok, it's a week old, but y'know...

    Zero Punctuation : EVE Online

Heh, I really enjoy the Yahtzee ZP reviews, you might want to give people a bit of forewarning about the language and such that tend to occur in his videos...

And this may explain why women get so upset when men don't.

Hami could certainly cause problems, since it is to big to spawn inside most maps.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wonder if you could chose a reddish cave, like the snake maps, and give something like the impression of being inside a creatures gullet in such a manner...?

    Stuff like branching missions

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are we able to use this? I would love it if we were!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd also hope for it's inclusion, but with a limit of five missions for an arc, it seems a little unlikely just from the point of not having enough missions to really handle much of a fork in the story...
  25. [ QUOTE ]
This is the can o' worms I mentioned initially. It's quite hard to catch all the "not originally intended" cases, especially if someone has hacked the data file to do something unpredicatable.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But if the options are selected mostly by drop-down boxes, like the costume creator, then it doesn't matter too much whether you can access the file client side. It would be like having an offline costume creator with text files: sure, you can "hack" the file and change the line that refers to your top as "Take That re-union tour t-shirt", but when you load the costume creator, it would then default anything like that which it could not find to generic spandex.

I imagine if they have something similar for missions, if they store files on your home computer, so if you change the line that refers to "map type" to something out of range, it will default to a standard map or prevent the uploading of the file.
