I knew mine was gone when I made my NA account, I'd hoped it was being used on a trial account though, hohum. 
I did a little shuffling and I'm now using my soon-to-expire-NA-account global as my EU global:

I half expected the forum names to change along with the globals, aren't they linked?

Well, as expected, I lost my global (@fulcrum) and my second and third choices (both nicknames my buddies know me by) weren't available either.
At the moment I just feel completed demotivated by this so I'll be unsubbing for the time since February 2005. I'm not exactly quitting, I just really don't feel like playing after this so it may be more of an extended break.
It's funny, in my job I feel that I'm just a number on a spreadsheet being shuffled at the company's convenience; I just never expected to have that same feeling in the game I've enjoyed for over 6 years.
Well, someone else now is @cunundrum. I am @CunundrumEU . Not the end of the world yet...

but I'd still send 2 choices, even if its just use new name otherwise keep old one.
Okay changed from Eskimo Spy to Eskimo-Spy. I can live with that. But having my global chat colour changed from a murky ice-blue to a horrid peachy pink? It's like a light slap followed by an uppercut.

think I spoke too soon when I said my global hadn't changed... it has now.
no longer @Scene, have been changed to @Sceneshifter (1 of my alts names) - I think they chose the best alt name out of the few I have tbh, so no real gripes here.
