Admiral Sutter Task Force question

Friday will be the first time our SG has run this TF, being as such it will not be a speed run, so how long should we expect it to take?

If no one on the team has done it, plan for 2 hours. If a few people have done it on their alts, plan for an hour and a half, since you know the tricks. Did it in an hour and 20 minutes last night with a team of 8, some of whom had done it before and some of whom had not.

...I forgot what experience means.

I want to do this TF, but I never see anyone recruiting for it.

I am afraid that this will be the best TF no one ever runs only because of what it is competing against. It's release coincided with the release of the bulk of the Incarnate system, which is something a lot of players have been waiting years for. Sutter is easily one of the best TFs in the game, and has been terribly under played. Hopefully once the shiny wears off the incarnate stuff, people will remember than i20 had something else in it as well.

100 % agree

I have run this twice now. I really like it-tough fights,a little humor.End fight can be a little hair-pulling at times but it's doable.

If it is your first run through. . .Take your time with it. Enjoy the missions and maps.
The way people run the ITF is a lot different from when it first came out.

I am in love with this TF. The first time I ran it was on an all dual pistols team. Talk about a challenge. Sure had a ton of fun though.

Posted

Yeah, first time run: 2-2.5 hours. Maybe a little less if you find the secret opening thru the rubble from the hosp in the final mission

(oh, and that's taking the time to do all the optional stuff and read, too)

I REALLY hope it gets made the weekly target very soon so people find out about it. but looks like the trials are taking precedence even over WSF.

It'd still help somewhat.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

I saw multiple runs being organized last night. This is your big chance. Sutter (and Morty) are the WST's this week.

Ran it under an hour and we were just avoiding the optional objective. Was in an average team. Only recommendation I have is stay with the team. Those portal computers are nice to touch, but they spawn death. Learnt that the hard way.

The first step in being sane is to admit that you are insane.

It's an awesome TF - quite a few challenging fights, a lot of mission variety and objectives, and something horrific/funny at the end

My SG ran it last Friday, before it became the WST, and no one on the team had ever done it before. We finished in just over 1 hour Like 1:02 or something I can't recall exactly now.

I have run it again this week that one lasted a little under an hour. Its a good TF full of unique maps and a few suprises .. Enjoy yourself and be ready for a good time!

Oh and the M Kal SF is great too.. also takes an hour or slightly less

Yep, did it tonight after all. Pretty cool TF! I thought the sewers littered with dead Vaz was a nice touch. The ships were cool as well.

First mish can be a pain for a speeder as the ship sides are just too high for hurdle in general especially as they slope outwards - there are lower points though so it may take some time to get used to it. Final mish also has that problem for the AV fight. Temps work though so it can be worked round.
He does have a trick up his sleeve for that final fight as well.

Did this TF for the first time last night, could very well unseat my current favorite (ITF). Fight at the end got a bit frustrating, but overall was awesome.

I would disagree wholeheartedly on this. I did a Sutter TF last night and maybe it's cause I was tired or whatever but....I do not plan on running that TF ever again (on any character)...just wasn't fun at all for me; shame the artwork was nice

The new villy SF is better I think.

Our SG did it the night i20 went live with absolutely no guide or wiki or anything and we did it in about an hour and a half. Most of the team were sub-50's doing it for the experience too. I agree planning for 2 hours is probably smart.

It and the villain SF with Mortimer are both very fun.

Was there anything in particular that you didn't like? I only ask because I have seen overwelming positive reviews on this, and your post may be the first out right "don't like it" post I've seen regsrding the new TF. Everyone has their opinion, I'm just curious as to what you found undesirable about this TF, because it felt like a homerun to me.

report card... ran it last night in 1 hour 44 minutes, didnt do the option in the first phase. we had a hard time figuring out where to go to get out of the first ship. the AV battle in the sewer was ... wow ... loved it, thought there was plenty of face-planting going on around me. my wife found out that she had neglected the enhancements on her Katana/Electric Armor scrapper and was having a hard time of it

the only grip I had (and maybe someone can help me here) in the last phase... how do you get out of the hosp? I found my way out the first time with no trouble, but from that point on it I got turned around or something and couldn't find it.

I've seen lots of complaints about getting out of the first ship but we didn't have any trouble at all. Just following the line of sky raiders takes you right to the door. It's a pretty small area too.

From the final mission's hospital, it's the same kind of sewer entrance you took the first time and it is within line of sight from the nurse I believe... it's been a few weeks. I do wish there was a nav pointer there after defeating the couple.

I've run this about 6 times now. The longest time it took was the first time, about 1:15. The shortest time it took was one of the runs in between, about 35 minutes. On average for the runs I've been on it has taken around 40-50 minutes. These were not speed runs at all. We just went along and played normally, completing objectives as they arrived. The last run I was on took 40 minutes with 6 people, 4 of which were in their mid-20's. Definitely not an optimal team but we did it quite quickly.

I feel the opposite here. I've run both sides, and the Sutter TF is my favorite of the new two. While the mechanics in the Mortimer TF were fresh and interesting, the plot and storyline seemed much too disconnected for me. I did not get a good sense of the story being told.

On the other hand, the Sutter TF is pretty clear story-wise and the mechanics are decent as well for the level range. The unique maps are pretty nice too, although the Skyway map can be quite confusing to navigate.
