Admiral Sutter Task Force question

Seen Sutter recruited for quite a bit on Defiant and I've run it myself a couple of times. Awesome TF, love it.

And if you don't see anyone recruiting for it, recruit your own team.

Exit the rez area and turn right...go to the end of the tunnel and there's a sewer entrance on your left that takes you up top.

ooooor, if you're eagle-eyed...

Exit the rez area and go straight...there's a little hill on your left that reaches the caved in ceiling above. At the top of that hill, if you turn back facing the med area, you'll find a crack open to the top which puts you right at the ramp to the AVs

Everyone has their opinion, I'm just curious as to what you found undesirable about this TF, because it felt like a homerun to me.

A couple things....so here I go:

The team of 8 that I was on (I was the leader); 6 didn't know what was going on (ie. they never did the TF before) and only 2 had done it before. So the first mission kind of felt 'rushed' like an iTrial as far as trying to figure out what to do/where to go before x happens. This was especially true at the end when you're blowing up the generators and the reinforcements come through the portal.

Our team had quite a few deaths (nothing 'bad' but...) and that one AV (Stone?); never even seen him until someone said, "he's over here" (didn't know how to shut off the portal). Defeated him and mission completed (I think)...7 of us exited and I couldn't get the next mission cause was 1 person was still in the mission.

After a minute I asked if he was coming, he (or she ) said, "where are you guys? I can't find you." "We exited, mission completed." "Oh, I didn't even notice; so many things going on." (paraphrased).

Then 2 things that 'got me' in the 2nd mission were the following:

1.) When we were fighting the 2 AVs at the end (Riptide and Harbinger?), we were fighting Riptide first and I noticed I was having rchg issues with powers (have like -11 or 41% rchg rate) and wondered why I was having that. It wasn't permanent so I thought it was some sort of power/debuff I was under.

I looked at all my icons and nothing but buff icons....hmm...so I mentioned it to the team and someone mentioned, "you're in the time slow down bubble" and I was like, "the what? o_O"

OH, you mean the FF bubble on Harbinger that has a buff icon on my screen? That really needs to be changed to some sort of debuff icon; I thought it was just the AV having FF powers (giving himself mez protection/+def, etc...).

2.) Secondly, I died from those berserk bombers (neat btw and not the issue) before the last AV died so I 'went to hospital' which is where you start the mission at the beginning. But the last AV died, and the nav bar said, "find mission exit."

So since I was at the beginning, I just used the helicopter...by the time I zoned back into IP I noticed everyone was in Skyway and wondered how the mission changed/etc....so I was a bit lost. Went to Skyway and went inside and then actually zoned into the mission.

Again, # 2 isn't a big deal but just something that threw me off.

Then the last mission (again, nice artwork) was 'bleh' to me all around.

1.) Fighting Fusionette/Jane was gimmicky. I had an IM chat with an sgmate about this and I was basically saying I didn't care for the KB that the AVs do that you can't escape/have enough protection against. It doesn't kill you/teammates, just KBs you....annoying. He mentioned just being far away to not be affected by it but I thought I was far away a few times but still got KB'ed so I thought it was somewhat of a 'zone wide' KB thing.

2.) Then the last 2 AVs...I like the idea I guess; I like the air strike warning graphic(s) but uh...yeah..that happens a bit too much plus the bug where it can hit while you're rezzing in the hosp. isn't fun (which I never died from but still); and yes I noticed that it seems that it's fixed on the test server.

It took a while for us to finally take down the last AV (we took the Praet. version down first)....and a few times I swear the air strike was covering ALL of the bridge/area where you could be standing on where the AV was at....a little much.

Oh and maybe it's in the text (never had a chance to read any story text) but...why Sky Raiders? Boooring (as far as mobs go)....Why would Nemesis want to help the Praetorians? (since the Sky Raiders are his other 'group' right?)

How do you handle Primal Col. Duray ? o_o

The first time I did this TF I loved the maps, the story, the AVs... almost everything. Our team was made of what we found (mostly lvl 40-50) and we didn't encounter any real difficulty. With my Warshade I didn't even notice Harbinger's slowing bubble or Primal Duray's nasty teleportations.

Today I happily tried to do it with another team (there were 6 of us, from lvl 22 to lvl 50 - diff. +1x0) and we just couldn't kill this version of Duray. He was teleporting himself everytime everywhere and regenerating too much while we were chasing him. I was totally clueless about what to do. Since he was always teleporting, our Dark Miasma corruptors couldn't debuff him as efficiently as the previous MVs so maybe our team wasn't adapted to the challenge. Our little Cold defender's Snow Storm seamed also useless... Most of the time I can guess what we were lacking if a TF fails (debuff, DPS, coordination...), this time I didn't know. I'd like to take revenge with my SG without it turning to an atrocious fail at the last AV. Any hint, tips please ? :|

With Primal Durray, Holds work well, but when you don't have that, it does end up being a game of chase with his teleporting all over the place. Keep a finger close to your "f" key so when you see him start to teleport, you hit that, and wherever he goes, you'll start to follow.

Also, necromancy is bad.

The follow "F" key and a jetpack have helped cut down on much frustration on that battle for me. A good controller can make a huge difference there.

Thank you very much for your answers It really seems we lacked good holds, I'll try to remember it next time.

PS: sorry if it looked like necroposting, I checked the last post's date and thought four months was still reasonable.

As an emergency back up for tough AVs I always carry the Envenomed Dagger temp power as well and will mix it into my attack chain to slow the AVs regen. Don't normally need it, but solo or on small groups it has saved my bacon several times, once on a team that was struggling with Primal Duray.

Just for future reference, generally more than a month inactive is generally the limit.

If you've got long-duration regen debuffs (eg. Howling Twilight), hit them as soon as you see him start his teleport animation. That will give you time to catch up to him, and will usually give you an indication of which way he went.
