NCsoft sends its most heart-felt condolences to the victims and people of Japan. As such, NCsoft will donate 500 million Yen (approx 4.5 million Euros/3.9 million GBP/6.3 million USD) to restoration of damages in the region. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan.

NCsoft senior executive Sung Joon Park stated, “In order to support those who have suffered from the earthquake and to help restoration, we decided to donate 500 million Yen, which corresponds to one month of sales.” He also added that, “We’ll maintain the service with the minimal electricity and personnel. Maintaining daily life is also important; therefore, we plan to uphold the service.” NCsoft’s Vice-President, Corporate Communications Jaesung Lee added from headquarters in Seoul, South Korea that, “We sincerely hope Japan can overcome the current difficulties as soon as possible.”

Additionally, many organizations and funds have mobilized to provide relief to those affected by the disaster. If you are interested in contributing, below are some links to charitable organizations in alphabetical order working in earnest to help the victims in Japan.

Doctors Without Borders

International Fund for Animal Welfare

International Medical Corps

The Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund

The Red Cross

Thank you for posting these, Avatea, and thank you to NCSoft for their generosity.

Hearts and prayers are with Japan, and those that are trying to deal with the reactors especially.

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

This is indeed well done. I am currently between jobs and have little income but if I could find 50$ to help the people of Japan I would think that just about anyone could.

All players who can should help, not to mention anyone with a heart.

NCSoft,

I've enjoyed your games for almost seven years now. The community has always been its strong point to me, for its involvement in genuinely helping the little guy, either newbies, people in need, etc.

I'm honored and amazed at your response to this crisis.

Thank you for taking a random act of Heroism to an entirely new level.

For the last seven years, you've had me as a customer. Today, for all the right reasons, you have me as an admirer.

Well said, Turg. Couldn't have said it better myself.

I was thinking that one of the best things NC could do for PR is have the devs release a booster pack half the proceeds of which would be donated...

But this... Wow. Bravo.

Thank you for your large contribution, NCSoft. Every penny would help those in Japan at a time they need the help most.

I am impressed. So often companies are portrayed as heartless entities in the news today. Something like this, while not only impressive, shows the faces behind the company logo.

My hats off to you NCSoft. A job well done.

Thank you for posting those links. I've loved this game for years now, and it makes me very happy to see the people behind its production will do something like this to help those who need it.

Hopefully it encourages other able organisations to do the same.

Can I deduct my game account payments from my tax returns now as a charitable donation?

I'd like to thank NCSoft for making this donation.

Regardless of whatever publicity they may gain from the act, the act itself will help others and that is to be applauded and as said, will hopefully encourage other companies to do likewise.

NCSoft's donation impresses the hell out of me, and if my company donated a months worth of sales - sales, not profits - I would be shouting it from the mountain tops.

I cried so much when I heard about this. May God bless you all in NCsoft!

This is the earliest press release I found regarding the donations. If I'm doing my time zone math right, it looks like it came out today around 7am EST. From what I can tell, it was released through Yonhap News Agency, which is a news provider of South Korea. The jist of the release was a Korean news service covering heavy hitter Korean corporations donating to the Japan relief effort.
