I saw this news when it first hit Twitter and the other media outlets and had yet to appear on these boards. Needless to say I was impressed and touched. I was even more moved when I saw the announcement here with links to other places where we could donate.

Thank you for the wonderful game, and the generous spirit you have shown.

I agree that Tug would have won the thread if NCSoft hadn't won it already. Hat's off to you.

I'm already taking a hard look at my budget to see what I can shake loose.

In addition to donating to sites such as the above, I am inspired to go back and purchase a couple booster packs I deferred purchasing - just to show my support for a classy organization like NCSoft.

PLEASE, give to a charity, the ones listed in the original post are superb! Sacrifice a latte, a coke every so often, buy some clothes at Goodwill/Salvation Army/etc instead of label brands and use the savings to donate to help our friends in Japan.

But this... Wow. Bravo.

I am very happy that NCSoft donated this as well. I also would like to see a booster pack of some form created for donation purposes.

Maybe something along the lines of an Ultraman Pack.

This extremely generous donation to help the people affected by what must be one of the worst natural disasters in history is very touching. It shows the spirit of heroism, compassion and a desire to assist those in need.

Nice job NCSoft.

Great thing for a company to do. The amount itself is astonishingly generous.

I hope it encourages other companies to do the same.

Wow...just wow! A very wonderful thing that Nc Soft has done here. Doesnt matter if you agree or disagree with this, we all need to come together as one and reach out and help our fellow man in their time of need. This is very heart warming and very moving (its a good thing I took my anti depressant meds this morning or I would be a sobbing mess over this! =)), like others have said if you can please give or donate whatever you can.

NcSoft, I have always known that you were a world class company and now you have more than proven it! I have played city of heroes for a couple years now and am glad that the little bit that I am asked to pay goes to such a worthy cause, count me in until the end!

Don't really know what to say here, other than reading the announcement made me smile.

So as others have already said, well done NCSoft, well done.

For a bit of perspective my company has 90,000 employees world wide and donated 1.5M USD. For a company the size of NCsoft... I honestly thought it was a misprint.

Much respect for NCsoft. You don't need super power to be true heroes.

Wow, that is fantastic. That's a huge amount for a company to donate. Great effort NCSoft.

Thank you NC Soft. I don't have the words to express the wonder and admiration I am feeling. This is what makes NC Soft THE game company to me - its heart. Your donation will help many people.

I know the work of Doctors Without Borders. They were one of the first 'feet on the ground' to help and are there helping now. This is an excellent charity with very low administration costs.

Another excellent charity working in Japan is World Vision. Also an excellent charity with low administration costs.

For those new to charitable giving Charity Navigator tracks charities and rates them by effectiveness and details how the money is spent. Here is their page for charities doing relief work in Japan now with suggestions on how to donate without getting swindled:
