If City of Heroes closed down tomorrow...
i doubt i would start any other MMOs
but i do have another 280 games on steam i could play, so not like i wont have anything to do lol
If this MMO closed down tomorrow I'd play til the very last second. Then after that I'd move on to another MMO. Hopefully that MMO is CoH2.
I'd also send a PM to the developers to thank them for all they've done to keep me here this long, as well as various folks in the community.
Playstation 3 - XBox 360 - Wii - PSP

Hmmm, well I guess I'd finally get around to picking up the single-player RPG's I've been missing out on over the years.
That and finally get some time in on the other MMO I have an active (lifetime) subscription on.
Finally fire up my copy of "Final Fantasy XIII" and play it.
Play my MA arcs!
Tracking Down Jack Ketch - ArcID #2701
Cat War! - ArcID #2788
If it closed down tomorrow, I'd freak out royally for the first few days or so. Then probably lurk on the forums till it went down. Don't think I would jump into another MMO, tried others but always end up canceling the subscription and come back to CoH. Just find something else to invest my time in.

I would send my thanks to the Devs for over half a decade of entertainment.
I would then just fade off into the shadows. Maybe I would piece together my old Harley that's out in the garage and go cross country. Maybe I would snap and become a serial killer who preyed upon the guilty masses of villains in real life. Maybe I would film a documentary of animal abuse across the country from frustrated CoHers who have to kick puppies and kittens now with their time.
Maybe I would go off the grid entirely and leave civilization behind.
I'd make faster progress on my family's genealogy, and I'd probably buy a Wii and Rock Band and invite my CoH friends over all the time to reminisce.
Read more. So behind on my reading. Maybe check out some other new MMOs with my friends that I know who are trying them out (not comic related MMOs).
I really should play more console games too. I hardly ever touch the thing.

The Queen's Menagerie
Three different options I will take:
1) tell the devs thank you then barge into NCsoft HQ and make them turn the game on again
2) Copy all the pages of CoH related stuff into a hard drive
3) thank the devs then steal the servers and their computers and start up a secret underground CoH game.
Most likely I will cry and return to the pages of comics
Sleep. Sleep some more.
Sleep some more.
Find a new hobby?
Right now..tomorrow..id shout WTF for ages ofc...but the closing of CoH would prop give me the time to get A's at uni instead of gaming ahhaha
Most likely I'd get absorbed into the massive amounts of manga I've been putting off. I'd also start back MTG seriously and finally do PT's once again.

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.
Probably go do something constructive with my time.
Hmm.
I'd get more books. Not that I really *need* more - though admittedly I read a few at the same time. (Currently: history of China, Cahokia, re-read of the Foundation trilogy.) Catch up on some movies. For the friends I play COH with, head over and jump between Borderlands, Left4Dead and probably a few other games - whatever catches our fancy. Work on my various aggressor aircraft. (Not full size, unfortunately.) Re-certify for high power rocketry. I have options. *shrug*
I'd probably just move on to something else. >_>;;
I only stuck around on CoH because it wasn't like other MMOs, such as Everquest. I'm not really that into Champions, nor DCUO, either, so I'd probably quit MMOs and move on to other games... |
/QFT. This is my one and only MMO I play and if is shuts down, will be my last.
eh, im still lt'd to that other superhero game, might play more of that, but really never meant to play an mmo this long, and would likely take a few months off the treadmills, maybe finish up some bethesda games, with modding and my desire to do everything, added to my touchy luck with computer lifespans, i have a few to finally finish. Its weird, in october when my comp went down for a week, it was kind of nice not being able to play any mmo, they are weird things, ya know?

If there were any games that I'd spend more time on... it'd probably be SimCity.
Proud member of Everyday Heroes (Infinity Heroes), Dream Stalkers (Infinity Villains), Devil Never Cry (Freedom Heroes), Enclave of EVIL (Pinnacle Villains), Phobia (Infinity Villains), Les Enfant Terribles (Freedom Villains), Gravy Train (Virtue Heroes), and more!

I'd bet that a bunch of fans would try to get together to somehow acquire the servers, or at least the data that resides within them. Possibly the CoH Titan group. They might even try to get their hands on the source code. In a legitimate way, of course.
To what end? Probably to run the game by themselves.
Most likely, I'd round up every programmer and other able person in the forums who's interested in making a server emulator for the game. It'd probably take months just to boot into a city zone with no NPCs, but eventually we'd get it working. And thanks to the AE, there'll never be shortage of new story arcs in the City.

If City of Heroes closed down tomorrow......what would you do with your time?

The game cuts into my practice time.
Who knows, maybe I'd be famous now if it weren't for the game. I doubt it, but you never know.

Find out where everyone is going; MMO communities can travel, or you get the people who say goodbye to their beloved and never play another MMO.
Me personally, I'd go with a community I already knew to another game unless they too were quitting in which case I'd take a sabbatical (I've done this three times so far; once with WoW (never went back), once with Galaxies (never went back) and once here) and see if I didn't have other things taking my interests.
But I'd definitely want to see what the team here did next and do my best to stay in touch with my friends that I've made here.

I'd probably break down and start developing software in my (now abundant) free time.
