That is a good point.

More fun. If someone had level 50s in all the slots in one server (more than the default, assuming they've bought all possible slots), and if all the slots had the same shard "cost" to fill, by the time they were done they would have made...

the only problem with that theory is grai matters are also limited timewise so you can only get 1 per 18 or 20 hours

My main has been played 847 hours (now, that's got a lot of RPing and crafting time (Field Crafter, remember) included). Over three years. So unless I step up my game a lot, it will take me a year and a half to get my Very Rare alpha slot, and that's if I do nothing but kill bosses while I'm in the game.

That sounds pretty excessive to me.

I've been faced with that situation before in many MMOs (it's possible to get somewhere, but only through extremely excessive playing). I have always chosen to find a better place to spend my money instead.

The latest victim was the brand new superhero game. I could get somewhere playing that, but only by doing 5000 missions. I decided that wasn't worth it. I'm really hoping City doesn't end up the same way.

I have never been on a TF shorter than 90 minutes in my entire play history. I don't like doing speed runs (I get lost and disoriented when you skip around objectives) and I tend to run slower than "steamroll" teams.

Usually, TFs I've been on have taken 2:00 to 2:30.

And no, I don't want you to invite me to your speed run. I'd be no better than a door sitter, and I'm not willing to be a door sitter.

Try seeing how many of those TFs you manage to get on between midnight and 6 AM PST, and have other things in your life than playing a game that keeps you from playing more than 2 or 3 of those hours 1 or 2 nights a week. Based on my experience, If I'm lucky I have the opportunity to get into about 1 TF a month, which I may or may not have time to do at the point it starts forming.

So, it has nothing to do with being anti-team. I'm effectively locked out of incarnate content solo for the same reasons I don't enjoy farming. I'm locked out of incarnate content through teaming because of the hours I can play.

What has been completely ignored in these discussions is that a large number of the people asking for reasonable solo options have done so NOT because they have said "I hate teaming" but because they have said they either don't have time, have a situation that requires frequent AFKs, or can't get on TFs very often. This is why a reasonable method for acquiring incarnate abilities solo is needed.

If these were the final numbers with no other option, then my reaction would be....

That needs to be prepended to every post in this thread since these aren't Live, nor are they Open Beta, nor are they even Closed Beta numbers. The *pre*-Closed Beta is still in progress and numbers are always in flux.

There has been absolutely zero indication to think WST is temporary. Multiple places it has been stated the WST will change every Tuesday.

The older Task Forces commonly take multiple hours. The newer ones, not so much. That is a sign of a poor team.

Once again you are limiting your options. I'm starting to find it amusing that you dislike how long getting the very rare alpha slot will take you when you refuse to do anything to speed up the process.

They are adding in solo options for team-based end game. They have said it will be longer to do the Alpha slotting. Then limiting what you do in the game, only to turn around and say it is too much, not going to work.

Now I will admit, a lot of my toons have never (until recently) had over 100 mill. Once I learned that one or two recipes can garner 200+ mill I worked on that. I was able to budget out build much quicker and earlier thanks to that. For just start up earning money...well I am not a large farmer so it took roughly 4 years to earn 500 mill from defeats(leader). Although with the market I can play around and make enough money in short amount of time not to worry.

Hell just selling drops you should have no problem with that. Or even just selling common IO recipes to the vendors at lvl 50 for close to 100K builds up quickly.

Then switch to a busier server. If you're already on Freedom or Virtue and can't find a team, you're doing something wrong.

If you refuse to use a busier server, that is your fault for limiting your options.
