Question ... if I am already on the 12-months plan, which expires around July 2011, and I cancel it then sign up for the "12 months, get 2 free" plan during that time, will I still get the deal? Or does my subscription need to be renewed during the time the deal is being allowed?

That's skippy, but the timing is a bit off for me. With Christmas and an upcoming birthday my disposable income is nil at this time of year. Bummer I won't be able to take advantage of it.
If it went into the middle of January I would be able to subscribe all three accounts up.

Last time I did the 12 for 14month plan, I wasn't actually charged for the plan update until the existing time ran out.
Is that still the case with this promotion?
If I upgrade an existing plan to the 12 for 14month plan, I won't be charged that money until the current subscription runs out?
I'm set to auto renew on December 4 - does this qualify for this promotion?

For the others - you'd cancel and resub. There is no reason to believe it would work differently.
For peoe who would rather pay NOW and not when your billing is up, you can cancel, resub, and choose a one-time paypal payment as your method - it will snag that money asap.

I could be wrong though. If it was like previous promotions of this type, if you had a lot of game time you cancelled your current type of subscription, selected the new offer, then you'd pay when your current amount of time expired.

Of course my resub comes on the 28th because ive been with CoH from the launch so I miss the promotion by one day. Talked with NC support and they said the only way I could get the promorion would be to cancel my sub for a day...I know its one day but I've never let my sub lapse before. This is making me sad.

I know my game time expires late next year (around October).

Yeah, same deal. I often cancel my subscription just so I can manually renew. I realize that the whole point may be to get me to leave the auto-renewal on but that feels kinda cheesy.
Some clarification could be made here.

The linked announcement doesn't say "renew." It says "purchase game time."

I think the "cancel your sub" thing is aimed at folks like me, who like to cancel but still play on the time they have already purchased. You just loose the free months if you do that.
I just reupped with 3-month subscription not too long ago (and doesn't expire until February), so for me to take advantage of this which of the following options are correct?
A) Cancel, resub with one of the plans during that time, get billed in February when current time expires and new time with bonus month(s) gets added in February.
B) Cancel, resub with one of the plans during that time, get billed immediately and new time with bonus month(s) adds to end of subscription immediately.
C) Cancel, resub with one of the plans during that time, pay through Paypal and have it applied immediately and new time added to end of current subscription immediately.

When are you guys going to offer the 192-month plan, with 32 months free? That would get me through until almost 2030!
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.

The sad thing is, I'm a little torn about doing this because it means that Paragon will get less of my money. (I'm currently on a month-to-month subscription plan.)
This is the only game I've ever played that I feel is worthy of the $15/month I pay (plus the cost of all the boosters), and it's due to this that I want to support them as best I can*, which I've done so far by keeping two accounts active...
... But, I think I'm gonna go ahead and switch my main account over to the year-plus-two-free-months plan this go 'round, while keeping my second account on the month-to-month plan in case I ever get strapped for cash (like I did when I got bumped down to part-time for 3 months) and have to cancel something.
*That said, I'm not buying the Party Pack. Bad marketting department, no cookie!

I'm pretty sure it's D) don't cancel, just buy some time.
However, you might want to wait for a redname post on exactly how that works. I think your time gets added and your renewal date gets moved to September (after the free month, if you buy a 6 month sub), but I'm only about 85% sure, so I think some clarification is needed.
I've been hoping for this to be offered again. I think I'll take it this time.

I just subscribed annually in August. I'm tempted to go for this special, but am not sure... hrm.
