Greetings Architects!

I, Dr. Aeon, am here today to reveal the winner of my latest Architect Challenge! It was difficult to choose the winner in the end with all the terrific arcs that were submitted, I’ll tell you that! Everyone who entered their arcs did a great job and you should all be very happy with the arcs that you’ve done. Without further delay, here is the winner of the Architect Challenge!

Who Dares Wins by @Zaphir, Arc ID 454805

Follow the story of a Sky Raider captain with his sights set on the Terra Volta Reactor. He has everything planned out, but something unexpected makes the heist take an unforeseen turn...

Zaphir’s arc follows the adventures of Captain Richardson of the Sky Raiders. It’s an excellent story of a Rogue’s adventure through and through, with an ending that will make you remember Captain Richardson and maybe even make you feel bad (just a little) for all the Sky Raiders you beat up in the past. I won’t spoil the story here, but I’ll just say that Zaphir has done an excellent job in writing the classic story of a true rogue with a “heart of gold”. The writing in the arc is superb and the missions are extremely well designed, making this arc an absolute blast to play.

Congratulations to Zaphir for winning the challenge, Who Dares Wins is now our latest Dev Choice! Thanks again to everyone who has entered their arcs, you all did a great job!

Thanks everyone! This was a great challenge with a lot of inspired and creative entries -- I'm really grateful.

Err... I'm not good at the Academy speech thing, so I'll fast-forward to the "special thanks":
- Bubbawheat and GlaziusF for their reviews and advice on how to improve the arc.
- FredrikSvanberg, Lord of Storms and Wrong Number for great feedback.
- The MA Arc Finder channel for giving further feedback and helping me with my silly lore-related questions. ("hey guys, how do I speak Rikti?!", "can Red Caps exist outside Croatoa?", etc.) I recommend everyone join this channel -- whether you are looking for new arcs to play or are trying to get feedback on arcs of your own!
- My SG for providing invaluable testing input and encouragement. Thistletoe is the bestest editor/proofreader guardian angel in the world, btw! *hides*
- Last but not least, Dr. Aeon himself for organizing the challenge! In my opinion, the Mission Architect is one of the greatest and most unique game features on the MMO scene as a whole. Turning player creativity into content for other players to enjoy is just awesome-o.

There are a few references and easter eggs scattered all over the arc (this is a personal vice of mine... along with long-windedness *cough*), but I'll spoil the most obscure one -- the similarity between the names of the 'end boss' and a certain general on the Pandora's Box MUD is NOT a coincidence.

Thanks again,

-- Z.
(I'd also like to thank the academy )
