Keep your powder dry, until we hear from Brian Clayton and Tony V...
If Brian Clayton (or somebody else at the negotation table) says, it's hopeless, then we move to Plan Z...but for now...
We've got two months left until shutdown. Enjoy as much of the game as you can, at least for the next eight weeks... -
Issue 23, everybody said -- Hey! Have Ms. Liberty give out the Statesman Taskforce, not Back Alley Brawler! (for a good variety of reasons, all well argued, most of which I can't remember right now...)
And so it was done (I just had my "Master of the Back Alley Brawler Taskforce" badge replaced six days ago...FINALLY!)
Marauder, Aurora, and Pendragon standing in Atlas Park? While Back Alley Brawler is tucked away in the laundry room of the Atlas Park police station?!? REALLY?
The developers have listened to us before: THEREFORE, I motion that, Back Alley Brawler takes Ms. Liberty's spot in Atlas Park, while Marauder, Aurora, and Pendragon steal Castle's post in Peregrine Island.
I like the symmetry of starting your career as a hero with Back Alley Brawler...while finishing it with his "evil twin" in Peregrine Island (after being exposed to the Praetorian storyline on your way up to level 50.)
OTHERWISE: Issue 24 looks great, "something for everyone" -
Anybody else going to role a water blast/mental manipulation character, and immediately apply the Coralax Costume Power toggle?
New Epic Archetype FTW!!!
I just need a cool name for my new toon...hmmm... -
Ah, OK...giant Nemesis spawn, after a critical mass of players...got it!
-
Just cleared the Nemesis Invasion in both Talos Island, and Peregrine Island, leagues of 10-14 people both times...
In Peregrine Island, we got Nemesis? and Warhulks as Elite Bosses, but no badge, and no progress bars either for defeating about 20 elite bosses...
Anyone know what the requirements are for A Nemesis Plot?
[Wouldn't it be a kick in the head if we have to fight off the Nemesis Invasion in ALL the city zones where they occur? Like, blue-side, Atlas Park, Steel Canyon, Skyway City, Independence Port, Talos Island, Founder's Falls, AND Peregrine Island?] -
First post, the picture of the tiger swinging the trident over his head...
What zone/map is that?
Doesn't look familiar to this 7-year vet...
Maybe something new/someplace we've never seen before?
OMG! Issue 24 new Atlantis Underwater zone!?!?
j/k -
A little underwhelming...
-
As much as it interests me to read other people's travel arrangements, might I suggest an official thread "Make Your Case HERE -- Zone Revamp" as a way of letting NON-attendees of the Player Summit to have a voice in the discussion re: Suggestions for Revamped Zones?
I don't have an idea to pitch, but sure would be curious to see what OTHER PEOPLE might come up with, even if they CAN'T attend the Player Summit in California next month...
Two hundred words max, would be keeping in the spirit of making a public presentation...
Gentlemen, start your engines! -
As my wife said "B, for sure"
Because fins are awesome! -
B, because it has the most detail/texture
-
C, because I like the shoulder stock
-
B, again
Just because it looks VERY versatile ie. you could wear it with a "classic" superhero concept, but also as a spacesuit; a futuristic knight in armour; an alien; etc.
But I also like the "retro" feel of C... -
B, of course
-
Man, some people are so bitter...
This thread: am I the ONLY person happy to see something brand-new in the game yesterday? I mean -- a four-legged rig! $6.25 for a dog companion, but more importantly, now that the rig is in the game -- think of all the things that can be done with the new rig!
Charity is all the "free riders" I support each month with my 7-year subscription. Business is hoping some of them (in addition to you and me) eventually buy something to support the game as well! -
The dog is a fun item, well worth the $5 I spent for 400 extra points.
I don't understand people who say, 500 points is out of my price range. Support the game by throwing $5 into the hat every once in awhile, and you might just be surprised what you eventually get back!
The more resources we give the developers, the more options they can give us in-game: that's the virtuous cycle. Something for everyone! -
"Gotta Keep Them Separated" and "Master of the BAF" raised my count to 1200 last night.
The Behavioral Adjustment Facility Trial is a lot of fun, but not quite as thrilling as when you have to coordinate three full teams for the "Gotta Keep Them Separated" badge -- I really hope to do another "Gotta Keep Them Separated" run again sometime soon!
Cheers, all. -
Congratulations! Looking forward to playing this arc sometime in the next couple of days!
-
I get a lot of entertainment from this game, so I am happy to throw $10 into the pot.
It's that simple. -
For three quick FedEx missions, with absolutely no risk, you were rewarded 150K influence (well, at least at Level 50; I never tried it on a character between level 46-50, but I'm assuming XP would have been granted in some circumstances?)
I'm guessing somebody ran the first part of this storyarc over and over again in Flashback mode...and it was deemed an exploit, sorta like the "Welcome to Vanguard" storyarc was exploited back in the day? -
The badges are VERY nice-looking.
Thank you!
"Vigilant" makes 666 badges on my main! -

Quote:So, pizza it is...Tell you what, if the eventual winner for Arc of the Year is an arc published between now and October 11th, I'll eat my left sock...
If the winner for Arc of the Year is an arc published sometime in the month of April (say, one of those storyarcs that had a headstart with the Closed Beta, like 80% of the "Developer's Choice" arcs) -- I'll toss my socks into the laundry, and treat myself to a pizza instead, having "called it"...
[An arc "republished" in the next two weeks doesn't count (unless it's pretty obviously been republished due to all the I16 MA changes)...]
If an arc published between I15 and October 1st wins the contest, well, they'll have my sincere congratulations and respect for their creative ability. (And, yeah, I might even lose a little bit of my deep cynicism about the Mission Architect system, and how it has impacted the game.)
(Though, both the "Best Hero Story" AND "Best Villain story" were published AFTER I15, on July 16 and July 8, respectively...)
Still, sincere congratulations to the five authors...I will be trying out each of your arcs in the next week or so, just to see what they are all about (played "Blight" already and quite enjoyed it!)
Hope you all get a lot of fresh positive feedback, don't let the one-star bandits get you down!!!
Cheers,
COLD BOB -
Quote:A quick check of the Mission Architect database confirms, of the 16 storyarcs currently flagged as "Developer's Choice", 11 of them were published in March, 3 of them were published in April, and 2 of them were published in May. Of the 7 storyarcs still flagged as "Hall of Fame" (voted on by the players) all 7 were published in April. Can you explain to me how it is relevant when the arc was first published? I believe it was in the "memorable quotes" thread that someone said how old something is doesn't matter, good is good.
Remember, this is for a system that went live on April 8th. So, yeah, good is good...BUT IF YOUR STORYARC WASN'T CHOSEN FOR DEVELOPER'S CHOICE BY APRIL 8TH, YOU WERE PRETTY MUCH OUT OF LUCK. Which kinda leads me to think, we're not going to see a lot of "fresh faces" emerge out of this contest. I mean, we're not seeing a lot of "fresh faces" under the Developer's Choice, Hall of Fame, or "Guest Author" programs right now.
I double-dog dare the developers to choose an arc from the no ratings-list, and elevate it to award-winning status. C'mon -- there's 842 pages of "content" there, just waiting to be played by someone (anyone?) other than the author. I wonder how many entries this contest is gonna get? 1000? 500? 100? 55? And if the eventual winner of Arc of the Year is one of the very few who already have more than 999 plays -- that's just gonna break my heart for all the fans who thought they had a shot at the top without already having some standing in the community... -

Now how do I go about subscribing to this thread?!?
