Live Server Patch Notes - 12/8/09
So, this parch was inserted because some people had to cheat to get their cape early? Now that is sad.
Having run the new cape mission and got the game crash no less than 3 times in a row, even using different peoples versions of the mission, I thank you for that fix.

Ouroboros: The Omega Team Time Capsule story arc (the updated cape mission) is no longer available as a Flashback arc. Characters that have already completed the original cape mission can still get the new version of the mission from the City Representative in Atlas Park. |

Wait somebody got a cape before level 20? I'm done with this game- that ruins it forever.
It's blatantly disregarding the memory of hero 1, that great hero.
...wait- didn't I meet him in the rikti war zone at one point?
....Wait a sec...
Why are we waiting around for capes again?
OOC: It's a level-based carrot reward.
IC: Because you actually have to earn your cape. Considering the sacrifice of Omega Team, it's seen as especially disrespectful for every craptacular joker who registers as a hero at City Hall to fly a dishtowel. Wearing a cape is a fashion statement, sure, but it's a loaded one. I'm a real hero, honest.
Alternately, you actually have to earn your cape. Considering that any two-bit criminal can call themselves the Master of Evil, it takes a particularly vile individual to go into the Big City and choke some half-wit hero to death with their own cape. Wearing a cape is a fashion statement, sure, but it's a loaded one. I am a badass. Look at me and die.

Did they ever fix the animation bug for characters with Shields? Namely, the one where, regardless of what animation you choose in the creator, the original animation plays when you have your shield out?

Re. Cape mission: Couldn't have been level limited 20-50 do deal with this "problem"?
Are we making a big assumption here? Was this really why it was yanked? Personally, I thought it was damn strange that it was the only Ouro arc that rewarded zero merits.

Meh. I think I've had my fill of caped characters, mainly my two lvl 50s, who it works on.
Still...don't really approve. But, hey ho. There we go.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Maybe the original cape mish was never meant to be run via Flashback in the first place. They just finally got around to removing it, since they had an updated mish to insert anyway.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.
There was no way it could be exploited by anyone below L20, because it was in the L46-50 Ouro section...
I thought it was really nice to have access to it via Ouro, but since it's still accessible via the City Rep that's cool. It gives me something "new" to do on my main. He's been out of missions for years.
Anyone know if it's repeatable from the City Rep?

For three quick FedEx missions, with absolutely no risk, you were rewarded 150K influence (well, at least at Level 50; I never tried it on a character between level 46-50, but I'm assuming XP would have been granted in some circumstances?)
I'm guessing somebody ran the first part of this storyarc over and over again in Flashback mode...and it was deemed an exploit, sorta like the "Welcome to Vanguard" storyarc was exploited back in the day?

I love the work you do, Devs, but one of these days you'll figure out that there is no difference between "Can the players exploit this" and "The players are going to exploit this".
If there is even a glimmer in your mind that something is exploitable, it will be. The need to fix these issues after the fact only irritates players.

Though its not mentioned in the notes, it appears that they have cleaned up the Ninja Run jumping animations to fix the odd front-to-back chest/waist distortion and the crotch geometry jutting downward while leaping forward in the female model.
BAB's... you have my thanks.

When they revamped the Cape Mission, it was added to the Flashback Crystal. The old Cape Mission wasn't there, but the new one was there. Why? I don't know.
At the same time, everyone's history with the City Rep was wiped. You could (and still can) pick up the new Cape Mission from the City Rep even if you did the old cape mission.
Since Flashback missions use the psuedo-TF mode, that means everyone gets the final arc-reward, whether it be a badge, a souvenir, or Merits. The New Cape Mission via Flashback was giving toons below 20 the cape unlock. (Yes, if you were sub-20, you could join the Cape Mission Flashback through a base Crystal. I tested it.)
Meanwhile, if a sub-20 tagged along on the same New Cape Mission through the City Rep, they would *not* get their cape unlocked.
Meanwhile, if you buy the Magic Pack, you can have all the capes unlocked from level 1 for all toons if you can put up with the high collar design -- except for female models. I've documented this bug for a long time. I made a separate thread about it in Tech forum and pointed JLove to the thread in the costume bug thread. And I've pointed the new Bug Czar (Arbiter Kim) to it on the player-gathered Known Issues page on the Wiki here. And it still isn't fixed. But the flashback exploit is. Don't know why. <sigh>
