Server merger? Never wanted one, never seen the need for one. I just want the option to be able to play with our NA bretheren.

This is why people that don't know anything about how networking, computers and technology in general should never be allowed to make laws about or design things having to do with technology.

Just a FYI. The EU servers are located in germany. germany also has perhaps the worst broadband infra structure of all european countries. Not sure why they didn't put servers in sweden which has the best one, second only to korea in the world.
When i played on US servers i has much lower ping and less lag than i do now on EU servers.
Also to punch a few more holes in your argument.
Consider people who work nights and evenings. Their playtimes might conicide with another regions primetime. When i worked evenings, i got off at 22:00 my time, which just happened to be the start of the primetime in the US.
I'm personally heavily against the segregation between EU and US, but i do understand it from an economincal and some legal viewpoints. But i do with we could all play with each other. I have friends in both EU and US, i don't wanna be apart from either.
Sadly this thread is doomed to remain speculative at best.
There is no indication that there is any interest or impetus to enable different blocs of the community to play together from any official source. War Witch posted that she was looking at it many months ago but that has been the only official message and is well past its sell-by date.
Ironically there's a pretty healthy CoH community in other virtual environments where trans-atlantic players can chat and discuss the game together - and yet actually teaming together is not doable.

In order to combine the two groups of subscribers, there's going to have to be some system in place to deal with conflicting global names.
I, personally, am all for this solution. It's just a global name... Albeit, I am quite sure that mine is not being used by anyone else.
If it was... eh, what's either a small suffix added to it or a rename to me compared to a merging of the EU and NA playerbase?
Just seems more likely to happen with this solution than with some big idea that allows duplicate global names...

I live on Brazil. And have no latency whatsoever. Well, probably the fact that I have a SoTA machine and a 10mb connection has something to do with it... but I prefer to believe that its because I am cute...

I'm Welsh. I live in Poland. I play on the NA servers. Get no connection problems nowadays even in Rikti Mothership raids etc. Not moving. OP's attitude blows.
