How are you playing until i19?
Sorry if this has been discussed already countless times but as always Im late to the show.
With the knowledge of inherent Stamina etc, I just cant seem to want to work on my characters. I always throw Stamina in whatever build Im leveling usually by 25 or so. I also like to respec once I hit 50. So what I see as my choices are: 1. Play as normal, get stamina, then respec after i19. 2. Dont bother with stamina, and be without end all the time. Then respec after i19. 3. Play lowbie toons that usually wouldnt have picked up stamina yet. Deal with all other problems lowbie toons have, no end, acc, money, etc. 4. Respec Stamina out now, add other powers, deal with recovery issues, then respec after i19, to add a slot or two in health or stamina. Yeah so I kind of feel stagnant, not sure what to do. Anyone else experiencing this? How are you playing for the next month? or so? |
Then I am also playing a lot of my 30s and 40s who already have it and are going to respec it out once I19 hits.
total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
Running lots of tips on my IO'd characters so that I can get the expensive goodies they'll slot into the powers they respec into when Stamina is inherent. I'm still running lowbies, but not really worrying about doing anything to plan for inherent fitness, since 90% of my characters get abandoned by level 25.
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
I've put stamina in at least one toon that was affected by not having it (my dark/dark tanker), and I have no regrets; I figure I'll respec when 19 comes, but I have no idea when that'll be.
I am playing the following:
* lvl 50 Ill/TA - same as usual, tip missions and short arcs. He works just fine as-is, may not bother to respec for a good while after I19.
* lvl 32 KM/EA brute - getting stamina on him was really a necessity I thought. Decision was made well before inherent stamina was announced. I may decide to respec into the Fighting pool, but that would be adding a couple of costly toggles. With Energy Drain though, might be able to pull it off (loaded up with LoTG, should).
* lvl 22 Peacebringer - mostly teaming with my son's warshade. I had planned on taking the fitness pool, but starting at level 20 (I don't think I had Stamina taken until 26); I amended my planned build and took it out. I probably won't make as much progress with this one anyway I figure. When I19 comes it will be a nice bonus.

oh, one more difference- I'm taking advantage of City Traveler to pick up a movement power at level 6 on everyone, whereas before I'd have just stuck with Ninja Run and saved the pick for Stamina pre-reqs.
Also, the changes to base fly speed have made it a MUCH more appealing power at the low levels. I used to take SS or SJ even on my flyers then respec into fly later when it wasn't as miserably slow and I had some slots to throw at it. Now, it's totally viable and very fun even at level 6.

I just wanted to point out that given how I understand this to work, in your option 2, it shouldn't be necessary to Respec. As I understand it, characters of all levels that don't currently have nay of the Fitness Pool will get it, only characters that have at least one Fitness power need to respec.
As for me, I am playing without it on Lowbies and on my other that have fitness (95% of all my characters I would guess), I'll just have to Respec when the issue drops. I hate respecing but it's worth it to add some powers (and also to fix some mistakes I made but never bothered to correct).
Toons that had the Fitness pool before the announcement continue to be played as normal until I19 release day.
Toons that were too low to have Fitness before the announcement (read: Anything up to the mid-teens) are skipping it and popping blues until I19 comes around. That way I don't have to take the time to respec them.
My Widow, who has dual builds, will be respecced once before I19 and once at I19's release. Until release day, I'll continue to play on the not-respecced-yet-and-still-has-stamina build (probably Night Widow).
I'm not particularly distracted by i19; my altoholism is worse than ever, to the point that I'm often just generating characters to get to the point where I can go to a tailor and save the costume as a file.
Playing no one below 20 at the moment, and consequently staying out of Praetoria since the I19 changes were announced. Same thing I did when Khelds were introduced, and then buffs were announced for the following issue.
Heroes
Dysmal
Lumynous
Sam Steele
Pluck
Wile
Slagheap
Pressure Wave
Rhiannon Bel
Verified
Stellaric
Syd Mallorn
Villains
Jotunheim Skald
Saer Maen
Jen Corbae
Illuminance
Venator Arawn
Taiga Dryad
Tarranos
Playing mostly #1 with characters who already have Stamina.
Barely playing at all. Zero desire to play lowbies, and anyone 20 and above will still be different when they've got three more powers to play with, even if they're not slotted; most characters will probably donate some slots from powers that are slotted now to the new ones they can pick up. I'll worry about it when I19 drops, and meanwhile a break is nice.

I've got a level 46 character I'm pushing to 50. Thematically speaking, he would be perfect for going Incarnate, unlike my other two 50's, who are much younger.

But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Playing with my higher level (post Stamina) projects and everyone under 20 is on the back burner. I have six or so characters that are just around lvl 4 who are waiting on I19 to really get started. I could play them now and respec them later but I'll probably enjoy playing them more with inherent fitness, health and swift/hurdle.
