Meet the Tin Mage

And during the Warden exit arc, Dark Watcher says that vanguard will be setting up a foraward base in Praetoria to help fight Tyrant - so I think we might see that in the future as a starting point for more Primal Earth vs Praetoria content, so it'd be the focus for the Vanguard battle in Praetoria, while the RWZ base would still be focused mostly on the Rikti threat.

This is what I imagined, when I first heard "Tin Mage"

Thank you, Champion.

When I heard of Tin Mage, my mind imagined him as Steeljaw Jack, for some reason. Don't ask me why, Tin's not even evil, but I enjoy his style.

*note: Steeljaw Jack is the guy with the had.

So did I; Steel Mage:

He's supposed to be derived from stolen and modified versions of the Tin Mage plans from the time capsule.

You're crazy. The Pilgrim looks nothing like him!

I agree. A robot with a beard? How's that even work? Oh.... magic.

Wow, that's a really good costume. The first time I've seen the circuit pattern used well.

Hmm, if any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, and any sufficiently analyzed magic is indistinguishable from science, where does the Tin Mage fit in?

My husband's bringing his dark/rad onmyouji, who needs that aura like whoa. He's got Howling Twi - this'll be *quick*.

Currently playing:
The Domestic: Broom/WP
Shadowhex: Dark Control/Dark Affinity
Defenestration Lass: Grav/Kin

Not really liking this design all that much, but then i've seen very few uses of the robotic monstrous legs that look at all good in my opinion. The robotic feet tend to transition very badly from all the available leg designs available to monstrous leg users. Most of the proposed designs i've seen from players in this thread look better.

Then again i also thought Apex's new look was pretty bad when it was first revealed. i still think that, and i sort of doubt this design will grow on me either.

Not that i have to like a contact's fashion sense to undertake missions for them.

This is, of course, all just my opinion.

My Rad/Dark Caerula needs that aura and has Lingering Radiation and Enervating Field. Yeah, this'll be quick.

How about Dark Astoria?

Striga has plenty of hero content so it'd be difficult to let villains in and tweak the content for them to do. DA also has a distinct flavour, even though there's not much to do there apart from farm BP

Boomtown's a wreck, and looks great because of that but has no useful villain groups, and no content to speak of.

I remember some old anime/manga explained hair functionally as a heat-sink or something - a way to help expel heat. And, as mentioned, it could always be an aesthetic design choice.

Yeah - putting a beard on a robot is just the same as putting a tall hat and tux on a robot - it's for cosmetic reasons only

Does the Tin Mage actually use magic? Or is he just an android with a gimmick, trying to stand out from all the other androids running around?

Sorta like Batman's bat motif?
