Toons you've kicked yourself for deleting
Fire/Fire Blaster on Liberty...should of kept him, now someone else has Roy Mustang.

Out of curiosity, is it anywhere near possible to make an Amestrian military styled uniform in game?
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

I'm actually considering deleting my Dark/Energy Brute, at level 45, and rerolling him as Kinetic Melee. His concept is that of a touch-based energy vampire (think the Wraith from Stargate: Atlantis), and I used Dark Melee because it has two 'drain' type powers - Siphon Life and Soul Drain - and Negative Energy damage would work out as energy being drained from the target. (Because -energy = negative energy, get it?)
Now, Kinetic Melee has a Siphon Power ability as well, and the FX go together well with Energy Aura, but I'm wondering which would fit the concept better... Hm. Switching to KM would also relieve me of the trouble of explaining how draining someone's energy makes tentacles manifest around their legs.
Thoughts? Rerolling a level 45 toon is no big deal for me, gives me something new to play again. Just wondering which fits better.
Several DM/DA Scrappers (one after the other over the years), though to be fair I feel DA is much better on Tankers, and all my characters gave way to a DA/DM Tanker than I created in the wake of all the deleted Scrappers.
i sort of regret deleting my 35+ Kat/Invuln Powered Armor Scrapper named Desert Cat about four years ago. i kicked myself for doing it about three and a half years ago, but i got over it.
Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
I've only deleted a few characters that I genuinely did not enjoy playing. It takes awhile to get to that point, too, as there are a few toons I have that are kind of fun, but I have to be in the right mood. The few I have deleted I realized I was never going to like.
Rerolled my Stone/SS as a Shield/SS Tank and don't regret that at all. Hate how I can't move well with Stone. Same thing for my Thugs/Pain MM. He was my second MM and I realized after him that I just don't like the MM playstyle. I deleted him so I'd have room for a Dual Pistols Blaster instead. I've basically deleted my En/Psi Blaster, as I just like En/En more... though I did shift that guy to another server. Pretty much how I treat most of my "fun, but can't have him taking up space on my home server" characters. Only my favorites stay there, and a few alts that I'm working on.

I made a spines / regen scrapper a looooong time ago on Pinnacle named Echidna.
I deleted him when I realized that playing FotMs isn't all that much fun.
Imagine my surprise when I saw, months later, Echidna, spines a-poking, in a bank mish
Empress Tier, my DM/DA Scrapper. Got her to about 30, at which point I looked at the next 20 levels of powers, didn't see anything that would particularly increase her capabilities, and got bored. This was pre-IOs, and a nice level 50 build would give me something to play toward.
Also, Reisa Cobblestump, my steampunk mad scientist AR/Traps Corruptor. The one corruptor I ever really enjoyed playing. Her soloing got pretty slow by the mid 30s, so I got bored and wandered off. I've rerolled her, but I'm rather less enthusiastic about the combo now that I have a level 50 Traps/ Defender.
The biggest regret by far, though, is probably deleting my original 50, Kelenar. I did so way back before CoV, when slots were really tight. It destroyed about 30 HOs in the process. Several years later, I made a new Storm/ Defender and leveled it to 50 to apologize to the universe.
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
I deleted a level 40 natural scrapper named "Trenchant" when CoV came out, because I thought his concept would work much better in that area-- a more-or-less "good" guy fighting ruthlessly for the underprivileged. Paragon had too many heroes around to justify the hard tactics he's used, so figured the Rogue Isles would be perfect.
In the 30 seconds that the character was deleted and rerolled, the name was unavailable.

I have a rule that I don't delete any character once he has reached level 30.
The only one I guess I miss is a Sonic/Archery Defender that was 28. I really got tired of everyone looking for a healer and then seeing I was sonic and whining. After dealing with that I decided I was better off playing my brutes on red side where those idiots are not as common.
I actually deleted my main back in i6 or something, she was my first character and she was the ever-dreaded "healer" emp - I hadn't slotted attacks and the partner I was leveling with quit the game. I was in an SG but no one was going to commit to playing with me every single day, so Trillium only came out on TF days, or when someone was stuck with an AV mission, and this was back where leveling took a long, long time.
I deleted her at 35 I think, so I could roll an ill/emp with her name. I got to KR and kinda freaked out about having done it, contacted a GM, and they actually un-deleted her. I'm pretty sure they're not supposed to do that, but it's been years so I'll admit to it now, I think no one will get in trouble
I sort of regret deleting my very first Tanker, Sister Mary Pain. Understand, she was created when I first started playing almost two years ago and didn't know crap from shine about how to play a Tanker the right way. Back then, I thought Tankers and Scrappers were interchangeable, and that's how I played SMP, like a scrapper. But as it got harder to level going solo I got frustrated and "killed" her. I wish I would have reached out then for help on how to play a Tanker the right way and teamed more with her instead of giving up on her.

I re-rolled a character "The Utopian" when GR hit because he just belongs in Praetoria. My girlfriend offered to wait at character creation so she parked the name oon as as I deleted. Then I rolled him up, got to the name screen, and she deleted right before I recreated him.
I'm glad my paranoia was apparently justified.
Out of all my deletes, only 2 do I regret.
1) Bia - a Grav/Force Controller. My first character created. She got to around level 14 or so. I should have kept her but, I knew I found the sets boring and could not slog through it. Plus, I had moved servers with my friends so, didn't know anyone on the old one anymore. But, still ... she was my first.
2) Rad's Pyro - Fire/ Rad Controller. He was level 50. Deleted because I ran out of slots on Pinnacle. This was before purchasing slots or transfers. I try to justify it in my mind saying he did not play the same after ED and the imp nerf. While that is true, I still regret it.

I deleted the third character I ever made, an elec/elec blaster named Lady Faraday on Virtue. I later regretted it because I really did want to try out elec/elec. But at the time, there was no such thing as buying or earning extra character slots, and I needed room for the new villains I was making.
When extra slots were made available, I decided to remake her. Much to my surprise and delight, the name was still available. I was certain it wouldn't be, but it was! Yay!
But I still haven't gotten her past level 20, because I have so, so many alts.
Back in Ye Olden TimesĀ® I deleted a L42 Merc/Traps MM. His "questionable" original name was genericced & I was never satisfied with the replacement name I chose (I think they gave me 3 days to submit 3 alternate names in order of preference--In my best Tweek voice: "Too much pressure!"), so much so that I decided to just get rid of him.
Then lo & behold a few months later they allowed name changes (which would have given me the time to come up with a name I would have been satisfied with).
DAMMIT!

I think I have come to regret that I deleted the Defender that eventually became my Dark/Dark Corruptor, Experiment OEBR1. While I didn't really get as far playing him as a Defender as I did as a Corruptor, it would be nice, with Going Rogue, to have switched the Defender version over to the evil side. Just so I'd have an evil Defender.
Most of my deletions, though, have been replacing characters with recreations, and in instances where I wasn't sure about the next Power Set combo, I kept the old, just trying out the same name on another server. In fact, in one case where I decided a Stone/Axe Tanker with Stealth would be a lot more fun as Dark/Dual Blades, I KEPT the Stone/Axe (removing the Stealth) and gave him a new name, costume and concept.
Really, because I solo so much, it hasn't been a problem to just create additional characters on different servers. And now that server transfers are available, I can even take the ones I like the best and move them to where I know more folks to team with.
BTW, one toon I kick myself for CREATING, is a Kinetic Melee/Willpower Scrapper. I was playing a female Energy Melee/Willpower werewolf Brute, a character I'm levelling for my sister, and suddenly thought that Kinetic Melee might capture the more skill, less brute force feel I was trying to give for her. I tried it out, and it was SO outside concept that I actually kept playing because I couldn't stop laughing. I finally contacted some friends of mine that were online and commented, "This werewolf must like NASCAR, because she sounds like she's throwing cars at people."
I finally settled on a completely new Kinetic Melee/Shield concept that worked and seemed to fit the sound effects, but I'm really glad I didn't delete the original character to try that out. I still plan to try Claws/Willpower on another server, but I'm keeping the EM/Will version.
Just about everything I've ever deleted, I've remade later. Recently I deleted a dozen character so they could be Praetorians. The highest character I've ever deleted was 33, but I didn't like his powersets. (He was a Stone/Energy Brute... now he's a Stone/Willpower and level 50.)
But for the most part, I never permanently delete characters. I even remake terrible characters. The only characters I can even think of (out of about 120 characters that I've ever made), that haven't been remade and weren't created by just hitting the random costume button... a ~level 5 brute called Player 3 (part of a set team based on some characters from the webcomic Ctrl+Alt+Del... I kind of felt like reporting myself for making a cloned character the whole time they existed; a ~level 3 stone/battle axe tanker named 'Awful Comedian' (his backstory was entirely terrible... the stone armor was really a built up layer of tomatoes thrown at him...); and a level 1 blaster who was INTENDED to be a one-off thing for a video a friend made, but ended up hanging around for a year named P. Destrian.
On the other hand, I once made a character during a closed beta by hitting the random costume button and naming them 'Atomic Lizard-Donkey'... I remade them on live, played them into the teens, and recently remade them again as a Praetorian. Yeah. I'm attached to my (terrible) characters to a fault.

I ended up deleting a fire/fire tank WAY back in i3 before ED before any need whatsoever.... he was 17. Hated the name thou.
I think the closest I come to regret is with my Spine scrapper. He was a Sp/Inv at about L41. When I8 launched I wanted someone with which to do the new Faultline arcs. I deleted him and reolled as a Sp/Regen. I didn't strictly regret it, but in my mind I was feeling a little, "Sheesh, the things I'll do to play new content..."
Beyond him, none of the chars that got deleted were anything I really regret. If they got canned, they were usually some combination of 1) somehow unappealing to me at the time, and 2) low enough level that if I later thought point 1 was the crazy pills talking, I could reroll and make up lost ground with minimal effort.
