Simply Awful Sound Design
Wait... you actually listen to the in game music instead of turning it off and listening to Pandora or internet radio?
I really like the kinetic melee sounds, and the electrical control sounds are decent too. Maybe your experience is subjective, and we don't need to pillory the sound people because tastes vary.
Sound plays a vital role in a person's experience. Have you ever tried watching a movie with only verbal dialogue? It's dull. So why does it feel like CoX has an intern working in the basement on sound? On a weekend. Between beer runs.

I agree about kin melee and complained about it in beta.
The clockwork sounds don't bug me, but I can see where they might bug someone else.
I generally play with my game sounds very low so I can chat with pals on vent, so they have to be really obnoxious to bother me.

I actually have the music for the game turned off as well, and Pocket D (which annoyingly enough is not affected by that control) is now a pocket of silence.
Sounds/music in this game is subjective, many of the ones in the game I find annoying I have either silenced or altered.
I find it quite humourous when a Bots MM runs by and all I hear are rubber duckie squeaks.

That, however, is a spectacular idea. I need to refresh myself on how to alter sound files since I haven't done it since Forcefield SFX looped.
you know, what would be an interesting idea, we have power and animation customization, could we get sound customization? i really want the clockwork laser blast sounds. that said, the odler sounds arent good at all, they are bad in fact, recently new powers sounds have more personality, that personality can eb annoying or good.
I love the kinetic melee sounds. It's like my brute is a one-man speedway. I love the music in this game. I have it downloaded and occasionally playing when I'm just doing something else. I don't really dislike any of the sounds, and I play with headphones and not speakers. Perhaps that may be an issue for the OP? I can see how noisy bits might get annoying, but to me, they are excellent directional and fight cues.

I really really dislike the sounds of both Sonic and Electric blasts. Elec Armor and Melee, the thunder and lightning in Storm, and Electric Control are all fine, but those blasts sound more like static to me, a sound I never have cared for. And Sonic sounds just make me wince.
The in-game music, imo, ranges from "eh" to very good, but I agree that it's a bit too discreet. I'm one of those nutty folk who like a constant overworld theme in their RPGing. And outside radio just distracts me, so I'm kinda stuck.

Sonic sounds are the ones that really, really annoy me. I went into it expecting a bunch of high-pitched sounds, like Shriek makes... instead, I got Silly Noise Blast.
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
I really like the sound Praetorian Clockwork make. I prefer unusual sounds to the same old sound pack I hear in every game ever made. Kinetic Melee sounds do not bug me in the slightest, nor do Sonic Blast sounds, for that matter.
The music DOES bug me, only because it's not all that, yet it keeps me from listening to music of my own. So I keep it off. I usually have either the TV going or WinAMP playing, so it doesn't matter either way.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

Not to be confrontational, but how can anyone like those clockwork sound effects; most notably, the sound for that one attack on lieutenants where his backpack lightning rod thing discharges. It's just a loud distorted mess.

I like the sounds also.
Blazara Aura LVL 50 Fire/Psi Dom (with 125% recharge)
Flameboxer Aura LVL 50 SS/Fire Brute
Ice 'Em Aura LVL 50 Ice Tank
Darq Widow Fortune LVL 50 Fortunata (200% rech/Night Widow 192.5% rech)--thanks issue 19!
I like the Clockwork sounds too - it makes it sound like they're always busy doing something, even if they're just standing there

I do wish the music was more constant. I like what's there, but there's too many dead spots. I just end up turning the music off and playing my own.
Can't say I have any problems with the kinetic melee or clockwork sounds, though. They seem appropriate.
Clockwork sounds; love 'em. I would kill to be able to give some of my chars the Clockwok movement sounds.
Background music being inconsistant; sad. Theres some really awesome bits of music in the game; some Arachnos bases, the awesome rock part around the Rikti Mothership, certain areas in zones which have their own unique music that makes me stop and listen. Wish we had more and some consistancy.
Peacebringer WhiiiiIIIIIInnnne. My own pet peeve. I seem unable to do the trick that silences sound, so Im stuck having to turn my volume down whenever I play mine becase that accursed, god damned bloody whiiiiiine plays after every freaking attack and click. Every time! It's not needed! And certainly not at a pitch that causes migraine! Seriously...
Only other sets I have problems with? I think its the Ice or Storm toggle where the sound loops with a constant fake 'bitter wind' sound. Majorly irritating.
And Demons. God, seriously, it was cool the first time, ok the second and aedahrbamjfhnskjgabggvbhjkl;12345679=-[f the next times. Just. Get. Rid of it! Or make it quieter! Or less bloody obnoxious! Sheesh...
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

I *love* my racecar melee brute! It really is subjective.
Make a man a fire and keep him warm for the day, SET a man on fire and keep him warm for the rest of his life.

I haven't played with the sound on at all in the past several years.
Branching Paragon Police Department Epic Archetype, please!
Spine's AoE, is probably the most annoying sound in the game for me, followed shortly by the Tech insp storage bins, then the Demon howls, then Sonic.
Spine's AoE and Tech insp storage, I silenced.
Demon howls, are now the giggles of a 2 year old.
Sonic is a combination of chimes and bird sounds.
MM Botz as mentioned before, rubber duckie squeak. Didn't really find it annoying, but they do so much clomping around.
I have to agree with the OP on this one, at least the part about kinetic melee. I was one of those people who complained about it in beta too. Every time I hear one I have to ask the player how he likes his new hot wheels powerset.
/silencepower quills. /silencecritter whateverthedemonsarecalled. Wouldn't that be a nice QoL addition?
Aside from Quills and the demons, which are honestly more annoying when I'm not playing than when I am (at WW, when I pop out of a base portal or Ouro, in the AE building), I'd silence the Mu. The sound of those powers being spammed just grates.

The only sound I've silenced so far is the female Provoke "Ah HA!"
I like most of the sound effects, especially the new ambient sounds in the zones, and the growls and snarls of the ghouls, which are everything the Arachnids should have been.

There's no other way to say this, so I'll apologize for any feelings hurt beforehand for anyone who is in charge of sound production... if there is anyone in charge.
It used to bug me that the background music in this game was hit or miss. You might hear it one moment and it'd be gone the next. Moving from one area to the next, the music would resurface and I'd sigh, wishing it were more constant. Wishing there was more effort put into it.
You get over this though, you unfortunately come to expect it. But who or what was behind the new kinetic melee and clockwork electrical sounds. The latter sounds like some sort of electrical fart, and the other sounds like some homage to the Grand Prix.
