  1. On one hand, I see enough of that hairstyle to make me cringe, especially around RP heavy areas.

On the other hand, I'd love to smack the everlove out of those wearing the do.

In the end it balances out.

Just for a self rez I'd agree, but the self aggro drop power looks pretty nice to me...
  3. In case Arbiter Hawk comes back in I have a concern to be raised...

Concerns about LRM, specifically. There's the usual shpeal about comparing it to Judgement powers, which are superior in DPA, recharge, and uninterruptability. But my main concern is, because it is a snipe, it does not fire if its target is killed before the charge time is complete. This is a problem when my "anchor" is killed while charging up, yet there are still a ton of baddies around him able to take the damage.

My question, is there a way to modify the power to make it more viable during combat? I understand that it is a highly damaging ancillary power where the trade-off is a less protective ancillary resistance power, but the difficulty in coordinating a strike with your team (or relying on luck to make sure your anchor doesn't die first) makes the power more harmful than helpful.

In the past I've suggested a few ways to help the power out.
    - Allow the projectile to fire even if its target is dead.
    - Instead of targeting an enemy, target a location.
    - Increase the damage done to its target, similar to Thunder Strike. (This would also make it useful during boss fights. It just seems appropriate for rocket launchers to be effective against bosses.)

Though, I totally wouldn't mind if you guys added a Rocket Launcher and/or Minigun themed Judgement instead.
  4. So she doesn't have the option of ERP'ing while AE doorsitting? How pedestrian. *sips on a cigar made of Very Rare IOs and puffs a martini ignited by Fire Armor*
  5. At the end of the day, some people enjoy Staff Fighting because of the concept, animations, and because it's a different way to play the game. Some people don't want to be burdened by numbers and want the immersion to sink in. This is just fine.

At the end of the day, some people don't enjoy Staff Fighting because it doesn't fit their performance criteria in certain aspects and they voice their opinions on it in hopes for developer comment/adjustment. This is also fine.

Ask yourself if focusing so much ire on a video game, or how another sect of people enjoy said game, is worth it.
  6. That Dominator Fiery Orb intrigues me. It's as if they keep wanting to play my Kefka-esque Dominator, as that would fit him perfectly.

This 100 times over. It had more of an effect on me when certain characters in Praetoria's storyline were killed off than this "big death." Heck, I was more interested in Darrin Wade's involvement simply because I had worked with him before (my first character was a villain and Wade's arc stood out to me (because of Kadabra Kill's Singularity...)).

For the longest time, Statesman to me was just "that America dude on the cover" with Sister Psyche being "the lady on the cover" because they never had any real impact to my heroes. At least Lord Recluse and his patrons were mentioned nearly everywhere in the villain arcs, building them up for the time when you meet/greet/beat them.

In short, I believe it was a necessary STEP to kill Statesman, but only if they succeed in having the replacement connect more.
  8. I was really hoping for a reward for completing all of the episodes on one character. An extra reward table or something, maybe a choice of Very Rare Incarnate Component? From a gameplay perspective the whole thing felt rather unrewarding.

As for the plot, it really bugged me the gushy way they dealt with Wade. "All I wanted was freedom and knowledge! Come on! Waaaaah!" Note that it wasn't his motives that bothered me, just the way he whined about it at the end.

I was also hoping for more backlash from Recluse for excluding him from the space mission. He was so adamant about dealing the final blow that not hearing from him later was lame.

No, it would encourage waiting until the villain has to recharge the power until rooting yourself.

Yeah, so? You'd have to play a bit differently, yes. That's the point.
  11. Instead of just having a large (mostly) instant kill patch a la Battle Maiden, multiple smaller patches with less warning and damage. Say, the villain throws 2-4 bombs to the locations of each player, and a second after touching down they explode. Ideally the damage would be moderate, but with a potentially crippling side effect, so that players still need to get the heck out of the way but aren't taken out of the fight completely if they don't. A resistance to healing, a huge recharge debuff, or even severe blindness.

It always bothered me that bosses like Protean had text notifications of his super power rather than visual ones. For him, a large flashy electrifying charge-up for 5 seconds would give the same "Hey, you need to get out of the way," message without being (in my opinion) tacky. Even helpful dialogue (such as Protean boasting about his power siphon) would be better than the giant HEADS UP text.

Lastly, I'd like to see bosses you can't just hammer away at until they die. Say, a boss that plants a 30 ft MAJOR damaging/debuffing patch on itself every time it loses 5-10% health. That way you can't just sit a tank next to it, it has to move.
  12. I'd like to see some military themed judgements, notably a Rocket Launcher power (the LRM is wimpy and impractical) and a Minigun power!

Something like this for the rocket launcher...

...complete with quad rocket firing. Engine permitting, each rocket could have its own to-hit check. I'd see it as a lethal/fire targeted AoE that has a huge radius, but deals the most damage closer to the point of impact. Side effects could include stuns, terror, knockdown, or knockup(one per each rocket, incapacitating a mob during its firing period).

And the minigun is obvious, the temp power from Praetoria already in the game.

It could be a (relatively) narrow cone, with armor piercing rounds that ignore half of the enemies' lethal resistance. Other effects could potentially be a major speed debuff or S/L res debuffs.

I play mostly military-themed characters, and the current judgements barely fit their concept at all. Vorpal makes the most sense, but still asks that you submit your character into being a martial arts expert/super speed maniac. You can bet your bottom dollar I'd spend way more time playing level 50 with that mad hardware.

And speaking of concept, you can just say that the Well granted you the power to carry the weapons/ammo for this.
  13. The helmet is going to be Detail 2...

So all of our space heroes have to be clean shaven?
  14. I second the notion for more element-themed pets, but also the notion that I'd rather see more Judgement powers at the moment. It would be nice to have a Big Flippin Gun so my soldier types aren't all martial arts masters.

On the topic of Lore though, splitting the CoT into three sects would be fantastic! I would KILL for a Hellfrost Demon tree! I'd also like to see Malta, with the T4 being the Zeus and Hercules robots. Please.
  15. I love you to death, devs, but I'm going to ask about custom nemeses until every single cow has come home.
  16. Most tip missions are straightforward, enjoyable, and are completable at my leisure, so I don't have a problem there.

    But.

    Vigilante->Villain missions
    Rogue->Hero missions

    Not cool, developers.

I make the circle occasionally to pick up Patron powers, and those stages are just unbearable. Poorly written, poorly laid out, poorly designed, and oftentimes LONG missions that are not only horrendous to play, but (like Dr. Graves' arc) funnels your character through a VERY SPECIFIC PERSONALITY that the other tip missions either avoid completely or do in a very general sense.

It's been quite a few issues since their introduction and nothing about them has changed. I'm at a point where I have to jump on a REAL villain/hero tip team or I just don't want to even bother.
  17. What I'm curious about now is if they're considered "intelligent" and will try to place the explosive, or if they're all strapped with explosives. Nothing says "villainous" quite like a madman who goes around shooting bees at people with a pack of wolves with dynamite strapped to them.
  18. ...will I get sued by PETA if I use [Detonator]?

I think you're right in how things will play out, but Invincibility is one of the key powers for Invuln, and I personally think it should stay, even if it needs to be modified. I don't know why the Devs gave Stalkers the Entropic Aura static boost versus the scaling boost. The only idea I have on that is that the Devs believe that Stalkers should be on the edge of combat, not the middle. To which I say phooey! Stalkers can be in the middle of combat as much as they want to be!
I believe Entropic Aura for Stalkers is a static bonus not because they're expected to always be at the edge, but because they're an archetype that thrives more on single target combat than others. Stalkers fighting 1-3(? don't know the numbers off the top of my head) targets get a higher buff than others fighting the same, and vice versa for more targets.

Logic aside, I prefer having the static boost so I'm not always relying on the heat of combat to get the full boost. It's a welcome difference that encourages trying Energy Aura on more than one archetype to see which fits your play style.

  20. My 50 Ice/Elec tank, Perplexatron. Always been a favorite of mine, I'd appreciate anything you do with it.

Late Edit: I noticed I didn't include a bio, but long story short he is an IT Consultant who uses the power of his perplexed clients' computers to power his holographic armor.

  23. So is there interest in an alternate Statesmen SG? I could use a diversion from the usual grind.
  24. Socratesman from Greek Earth?
    Gyratesman from Parkinson's Earth?
    Floridastatesman from Seminole Earth?
    Gratesman from Cheese Earth?
    Platesman from Restaurant Earth?

I wouldn't mind joining an SG of that theme...
  25. I like using the Fire Extinguisher on him when he pops Unstoppable, because it's just as effective as any other of my attacks at that point.
