I realize my following statement is a bit late, but I feel a unwavering need to say it anyway. I've seen quite a few posts in this thread and others, mentioning how Paragon Studios is making a mistake with the booster packs, or how the addition of the tail isn't enough to sell the pack. The addition of the tail for one..isn't about trying to get more people to buy the pack, its just the way they chose to get it into the game.
Not saying I agree with their decision, because I don't. I think the tail should definitely be a freebie for everyone, but its not..so **** it. As far as the ."oh they're failing, noone will buy the pack." yada yada...Someone will but the thing..I know I'm going to.. I've bought everyone.. including the wedding pack. Guess what....if they show it to 5 people and at least 3 buy it..they're happy.Those other two people..well.. maybe next time. if not.. not really a big deal. All I'm saying is not everybooster pack will be something everyone likes, it happens..and honestly.. no one cares. Read above statement involving 5 people.
The addition of the wolf tail is make this a lot more convoluted than it should be. IIRC, the discussion went something like this:
A: the wolf costume has been around for a long time like the reptile and feline, yet reptile and feline get reasonable tails but wolf doesnt. Why is that?
B: Dunno. There. More to come based on complete costumes.
A: Maybe you should change wolf to canine to be more encompassing and generic
B: Maybe you should shut-up and be happy about the new tail.

Techbot, I heard you like to shoot puppies. I've never heard you deny this rumor (whether or not you'd ever heard it before is irrelevant), and you certainly haven't been as stridently anti-shooting-puppies as you COULD be... so I'm just going to have to conclude that it's reasonable to assume that you shoot puppies.

Right now, it's very nice, but as much as I think the bio bits look pretty darn cool, I'm on the fence as to whether or not it's $10 cool. Being able to put the Organic Armour over skin would definitely be the thing to make this booster a must have for me.

Jay, on the other hand, has a quote stating a hatred, or at least a dislike, of anthro/furry characters and pieces.
Although it isn't actually on the Dev digest anymore...hmm...well, it wouldn't be stated so widely if there wasn't some sort of backing for it.
Therefore your arguement is flawed.
Im not calling 'Persecution!' here, anyway. Im not a furry. Do I like anthro based art, characters and the chance of using those pieces? Sure. Do I think im not human and walk around in a fursuit all day? No. I get tired of people tarring everyone in quite a large group with the same brush.

wrong tech, the quote attributed to him usually comes from the generally very reliable poster zekerian immortal, she attributes it to a panel that he had at a convention, where he made a comment that has never been fully transcribed nor given full context, but indicated that he wasn't interested in doing more "furry" costume pieces. as i mentioned, he has never commented on the boards(i tend to follow his posts heavily, since extensive costume pieces are my main reason for staying in the superhero genre) And honestly, i don't blame him, i see 3 possibilities, and none of them are ones that will work out well for him.
A. he doesn't like furries at all. well, understandably, that is going to lead to a vocal group of players wanting his skull as a drinking goblet.
b. he really might not be a big fan of them, doesnt care, or just feels that the superhero comics that he is drawing inspiration from really dont have a lot of anthro characters. Keep in mind that since he has become prevalent, his output has largely been full costume sets, usually tech or layered spandex looks, it has really been fairly consistent with stealth, technbot, tech sleek, exproto, even justice and sinister, he has a fairly consistant style. ok, that answer is wishy washy, nobody is going to let that dog lie(yuk yuk) all that will do is lead to more stress and more nagging for a more significant commitment.
c. ok he is cool with furries, likes them even. and the wrath of the 4chan-tard comes down on him and he has to deal with the nagging of a generally unpleasant group of people biting his butt with their usual d-baggishness, disrupting the forums and costume threads. additionally the newly placated anthro fans will now expect a significant commitment of development resources that he simply is not capable of commit to.
do you see a win in this? honestly, i see him pretty much eating a twix bar at this point, because saying anything, even in his typically opaque nature, can only lead to a continual worsening of his day for a significant time. and i say this as a supporter of more monsterous parts, particularly draconic and aqutic themed ones, it is not a fight that is smart to wade into., David has done some good work for us, this is a superhero game, so a balance of maturity and demand is perhaps the most prudent thing to do. I have worked with you in these threads a lot tech, but your reasoning is becoming a witch hunt, and i'm not following you to the lengths you are reaching now.

Personally, I am also in the camp of "the wolf tail should have been added to a free game addition/patch (like Issue 18)", for the main reason of IT STICKS OUT LIKE A SORE THUMB COMPARED TO EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE PACK!!! How does a wolf tail tie into anything else that has been presented so far in the set? It doesn't.
All the previous Booster Packs had a thematic flow with everything else in the pack; throwing the Wolf Tail into the Mutant Pack skews the Pack's thematic flow and it is woefully out of place.

Quick question if you're reading this David:
I've been playing around with the beast legs quite a bit with this pack, and with the wolf tail I can now mostly recreate my CO character here. But unfortunately, the "brief" pattern for male & huge legs do not show up on the monstrous pants/upper leg. Not sure if it's a bug, but since practically every other pattern is available there, it seems like it should be as well considering how iconic briefs are in the super hero genre. Is this WAI?
