Ya'know. I'm not a furry, but I'm pretty sure that they are allowed to exist without stereotypes and hate mongering remarks o.0

I've never understood why Furries=Evil/Sin in many peoples eyes. If it's what they want to practice, why impede them. Didn't the world unite against a group that was trying to destroy people for what they practiced and believed? :P I recall reading that somewhere :P

However, a horse is something I doubt we could do, the closest to a horse person I ever saw was the Bothans in SWG :P

Peace,

Now I'm curious...

1) Animated ears?
2) Animated hair?
3) Animated face (expressions)?
4) Animated costume pieces?
5) New powerset animations?
6) ...something else?

You, sir, have got to be related to Chuck Norris. If there was a 'Best Dev of the Year' award, though I do love our luvverly lead Dev Mellisa, you'd have to win it

So much win!

I think Furries got most of their hate due to a small sub-sect that liked furry porn which is really close to Bestiality. Also the outfits the walk around in are a bit creepy (but harmless) if they are into that.

I personally don't have a problem with them and think they should be left alone.

A very nice surprise indeed. The thing I love about CoX devs is that they do listen to the players. Bravo!

He says it was a join effort with Jay, so you must allocate props to both.

Even so, I'm hard pressed to find fault with the three of them.

Solid decision to include this tail. I'm very happy to see this long requested item be added. Kudos to Jay for his continued awesometasticality and to those who green lit.

I think you're reading too much into my post

If you check my other comments, on this subject, you'll see that I'm very much a supporter of more animal parts in the game, even tough I don't need them on my avatar - I just want as many playees as possible to be able to express their creativity and imagination in the game.

I'm not sure what that means - well, I know what I want it to mean, but that's maybe not the same thing

I'm guessing they'll be like the stances in Champions Online that change how your character moves/idles. In CO they had a Beastial moving on all fours animation, an Average run/walk, a Heroic jog/walk, etc.

We've already got something like it with Ninja Run. This would be expanding on it with different themes.

Looking at the /em growl emote from the Mutant booster, they've been experimenting with characters going on all fours. I wouldn't be surprised if Animal Run wasn't on the way. IIRC, a while back didn't they post a job listing looking for people with experience animating non-human characters.

Certainly hope this is the case!

I would certainly be very happy if my main girl's "Glam" hair style didn't clip with her little cape and moved in the breeze. But I get that seems to be a sore subject. lol

In fact, how about THIS WEEK. Jay built a snazzy new animated tail, and though we were originally planning to release it later as part of a different set, the schedule’s been moved up, and you’ll now have access to it as a bonus in the soon-to-be-released Mutant Pack. Here’s a pic, and (barring any technical glitches) you can start playing with the new tail on the Training Room on Friday, along with the other tails and weapon that missed the last build.

Cheers,
David

Now i'm going to buy the Mutant Booster anyway just for the the new sets, but i really think this should just be added as a standard option like the other tails already in the game. Partially because it doesn't really fit with anything else in the pack, and partially because this is something that many people have requested since launch for general use.

Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...

I wonder what the chances are of us ever seeing the Monstrous shoulder piece that existed in CoV's beta once again...

Very cool looking tail though. Kudos David, Jay and art crew.

Animation falls under Art (listen to the 4th Off the Cape for what areas fall under Art), which makes David the guy who "the buck stops" with for animations, too. I'd say it's a safe bet that he knows exactly what's coming out of the animations team, and it could be anything from emotes to alternate power animations to costume change emotes.

I'm a little shocked that very few (if any, I'll admit I skimmed the thread) are wondering why this was added to the booster pack and not just to the game in general.

I'd love to know exactly why if I want to make a feline character or a reptilian character, the tail is there, free and ready to go. But if I want that werewolf? I have to pony up $10, apparently.

The tail looks good, don't get me wrong, I just don't see why such a generic and wide-spanning costume piece needs to be very arbitrarily pay-locked, outside of a desperate bid to win over the crowd disappointed by the initial pieces we've seen. This is exactly the kind of inconsistency that would drive me away as a new player, as I wondered why my character concept had a price tag attached to it.

More importantly, this isn't even a furry thing. Animal hybrids and such are a pretty long-standing comic-book thing. The competing product has an entire island of animal-people, and that's without bringing up Killer Croc or Wolfsbane or Turtles that are Ninjas who are Mutant and Teenaged.

Animal bits are a lot more central to making a 'superhuman' game than the hundreds of medieval swords-and-sorcery options we've gotten.
