  1. Let me add my thanks, Arcana and Black Pebble, for a remarkable Event, and a phenomenal sendoff to the game. Thanks for all the work you put into it, the beautiful prologue storyline, and coordinating everything with grace during the event itself. I'm so glad I had to chance to participate.

If you decide to run it again before the lights go out Friday night, I hope my husband and I can run it once more.

Also, Allanon, those were wonderful screenshots. Might there be any way to make copies of them?
  2. I am awed by the story so far as well, and the chance to participate in something Epic before the end.

Only question - when we talk about Beta, are we talking about "COH Subscriber Beta", which is what appears on my NCSoft start-up screen (along with "City of Heroes" and "City of Heroes Test")? Or are we talking about the basic Test server?

    Ski Chalet

Lord love you, Hitstreak, for getting the Chalet back up again!!
  4. Surprisingly, as you get closer to 65, it doesn't look nearly so awful, despite things starting to wear out physically. I've already got a bionic knee, which works great, and am really really looking forward to retirement in just a couple more years, and no more getting up at 7 am unless I darn well feel like it, huzzah.

Also, I'm personally shooting for living well into my 90's, if not 100! And continuing to play MMO's all the way.
  5. The ridiculous new Facebook "banner slogan" for NCSoft.

I gave them a pithy post about why the slogan was wrong. What a bunch of [i]maroons[/url]! (as Bugs Bunny used to say).
  6. I went into Options --> Keymapping -- and near the bottom where it talks about camera, chose the version that saves Screenshots as .jpg . You can also pick which key you want to make the screenshot (I favor "Insert") at the to of my keyboard.

Then, on your "C" Drive, pick "Program Files" -- NCSoft --> City of Heroes --> Screenshots, and they should end up there. From there, you can save them into your "C" drive Pictures (or My Pictures) folder.

I took screenshots yesterday, and they turned out fine.

    Good luck.
  7. Thanks for putting that one up, Glimpse. I too would love to see more screenies from back in the day when Gemini Park was an RP hotspot.

Kinda sad, but there it is.
The Ski Chalet has been brought up independently of the Winter Event before. In fact, it had been up for about a month before the Winter Event. And there are techs who can fix problems, such as when Virtue went down last Sunday.

So I'm still hopeful that someone will notice and reset the Chalet.

    Ski Chalet

I was sorry to see the Ski Chalet go away, as I'd thought it might remain till the end of the month. Tim the Enchanter suggested it auto-shut down because the Winter Event ended. If so, any way to get it back up?

We were glad you were able to make it to the ECHO event, Pogo, and here's hoping for that miracle hail-mary save.
  11. Last night's ECHO party was wonderful. So many long-time friends returned, so many newcomers had fun, and DJ Angel's coverage from the CapeRadio was perfect. Costume contest and bio contest were held, prizes awarded, we had an opportunity for many there to share their memories and thoughts about the last 8+ years with City of Heroes, and when Angel closed out her playlist with "Into the West" from Lord of the Rings, I'm not ashamed to say I wept.

This event, and the sight of the Heroes joining in holding aloft their torches at the end, was a comforting closure for me. I'm so grateful to all who came and made this a perfect endcap to all our good times and adventures. And the Dauntless Reverie thanks DJ Angel for your music and warm comments and observations throughout, and CapeRadio for many years of support for the Annual ECHO events.

Screenshots from the evening can be viewed here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/d_b_joh...7631995494455/

If anyone else got screenshots, we'd love to see them.

    Virtue problems?

Logged back in, and so far so good. Huzzah, and bless the CoH techs!

Last I heard, the techs who maintain the system were still employed. I'm sure they're working on it.

    Virtue problems?

So sorry this impacted this year's Communist Party, Smersh... :-(
  17. Keep giving it a try, though. If it comes back up in time, there's a Virtue-server-wide RP SG party, ECHO, which starts at 9PM EST, Gemini Park, in the "ECHO: Galaxy City". Everyone's invited! For in-game info, contact @Rhianwen (Nyght-shade, of the Dauntless Reverie).

*Crosses fingers for Virtue Server to come back up!*

Also, Very Sorry to hear that it's impacting Virtue's Community Party RP event, which is going on now... :-(
  18. Nyght_shade

    Virtue problems?

Oh wow! Hoping it gets back up soon, as we're trying to do the last-minute organization for the Dauntless Reverie's server-wide ECHO party at 9PM EST in Gemini Park...

    Virtue problems?

I got mapserved from Virtue and can't log back in. Anyone else having problems? The Server Status shows Virtue as "Down", but I'm not certain that's up-to-date any more.
  20. Just a reminder to come join the fun this evening, Sunday, Nov. 11th, as the Dauntless Reverie celebrates its final Annual ECHO event in Gemini Park, "ECHO: Galaxy City". Things will kick off at 9pm EST / 6 pm PST, with time to tell tales and reminisce about good times and great adventures, a costume contest, a bio contest, and great music from Cape Radio's DJ Angel.

So, put together a costume of your "ECHO" - an alternate or opposite version of yourself - and come gather with the Dauntless Reverie this evening.

    NOTE: CORRECTION
In addition to any base portal which formerly accessed Galaxy City, you can also reach the "ECHO: Galaxy City" via the Ouroboros Portal at the back of the Menders building in Ouroboros (not a flame-crystal).
  21. We just received confirmation that Cape Radio's DJ Angel will be covering the Dauntless Reverie ECHO event on Nov. 11th. Thanks to you, Angel, and we hope to see everyone there for our annual Virtueserver-wide RP gathering of Heroes and Heroines. Come one, come all, for RP, fellowship and sharing of good memories, as we talk and dance the evening away to the tunes from the Cape.

See the announcement above for info on the ECHO Costume Contest. Questions? Contact @Rhianwen (Nyght-shade), @Wei Yau (Kassai), or @MDanger (Velvet Soul).

    Cape Radio?

Good to know it's just temporary. Thanks!
  23. Nyght_shade

    Cape Radio?

Has something happened to www.thecaperadio.com ? I tried the site this morning, and got a "trouble loading page" message, and tried again this evening, only to get a "can't find the server at www.thecaperadio.com" error message.
  24. A FLYER has been found posted on light posts, trees, building walls, and business bulletin boards throughout Paragon City.

An accompanying card, black with silver and gold finely printed text, is found in a holder close to the Flyer. Heroes also may have received the card in the mail. The text of the card is below.

    Quote:

    Heroes of Paragon City,

What do an oil tanker in Talos Island, the underbelly of Brickstown, a country bridge in Croatoa, a wooded clearing in Perez Park, a small glade by a stream in Galaxy City, a city park in Skyway, a floating construct in Ouroboris, and a cemetery in the First Ward of Praetoria all have in common? They have all played host to The Dauntless Reverie's yearly annual celebration of the Autumnal Season of Masks. With great pride, I present...

    The 9th Annual ECHO!

So please, join us at the Dauntless Reverie’s 9th Annual ECHO as we celebrate the Autumnal Season of Masks, and masquerade as your "echo" or "opposite" – a reinterpretation or antithesis of yourself. There will be a costume / bio contest and prizes, good music and coverage of the party graciously provided by The Cape Radio and DJ Vangelus, dancing of course, good fellowship and fun.

ECHO Festivities will commence at 9 o'clock in the evening EST, Sunday, the 11th day of November, at Gemini Park in the “ECHO: Galaxy City”.

Please RSVP to Nyght-shade by email on your Paragon PDA. We look forward to seeing you there!

    Warmest regards,
