You know what would be interesting to see? A run-down of all Issues and how much "content" they brought in terms of missions added to the game. I'd do it myself, but I'm already content with the content we're getting.

LMAO I could see it happening.

FYI:

The names Doomy Doom Doom and Doom Doomy Doom are free on Virtue and Justice. Doom Doomy Doom is available also on Freedom, but Doomy Doom Doom is already taken. (/em shakes fist at Doomy Doom Doom of Freedom.)

Doomsayer is, of course, taken on all servers. Doomcryer, however, is still available on Justice, Infinity, Pinnacle, Liberty, Protector and Victory.

She'd ride in on a beautiful stallion with a glorious static mane.

Anybody else find it interesting that Golden Girl objects to being described as Tiny, but not to being pictured as a psychopathic weapon of mass geometry deformation and single targeted tackling?

I can try. I'll miss a few things, but we can call this a rough draft. In my opinion, new zones are not automatically 'content'. Task forces, trials and contacts with story arcs are what I'm taking into account.

Issue I Added 40-50 content in the form of Peregrine Island and the contacts there. Introduced Malta, Carnies, Nemesis and Praetorians as enemy groups.

Issue II Added respec trials (24-33, 34-33, 44-50) , the Eden trial (39-41), the Cavern of Transcendence (12-15), the Sewer Trial (38-40), the Shadow Shard (and I'm assuming the four 'Shard TFs (40-44 40-50, 44-50, 44-50), but I may be mistaken) and the Hollows (5-15). Also added badges. BADGES.

Issue III Added Striga Isle for levels 20-30 and, temporarily, the Calvin Scott TF (30-36).

Issue IV Added Kheldian-specific story arcs from 1-50.

Issue V Added Croatoa for levels 25-34.

Issue VI City of Villains launch. Initially included 1-40 content for villains.

Issue VII Added 40-50 content for villains in the form of Grandville and its various contacts. Added mayhem missions.

Issue VIII Revamped Faultline for levels 15-25. Added safeguard missions.

Issue IX Added the Statesman Task Force and Hamidon for villains.

Issue X Revamped the Rikti Crash Site into the Rikti War Zone. Co-op content from 35-50 including a task force (initially 35-50 due to a bug, now 45-50).

Issue XI Added Ouroboros (25-50) and the Flashback system.

Issue XII Added the Midnight Club and Cimerora (35-50).

Issue XIII Added Daedalus and Sister Arlia to Cimerora (35-50).

Issue XIV Added the Mission Architect (1-50).

Issue XV Added the Dr. Kahn TF and Barracuda SF (both 45-50).

Issue XVI No new missions or task forces, but Super Sidekicking was introduced and many zones had their entry levels removed. The new difficulty options were a big plus.

Issue XVII Adding new story arcs (20-30), two for heroes and two for villains. Positron TF is being split into two halves (whether or not both TFs are in the 10-15 remains to be seen). Kheld/SoA unlock reduced to level 20. Subject to change.

I based this off of the ParagonWiki pages for each issue. If I missed anything, let me (and ParagonWiki) know.

Heck, it's been old since I made my first foray into MMOs back with EQ. BTW, Sadowbane is soooooo going to be the EQ killer.

And Horizons, and Ultima Online 2, and Asheron's Call 2... yeah.

Heck, even WoW didn't exactly kill EQ. My friend still plays EQ and EQ II.

While there was no new canonical content added to I16, that Issue did give us SuperSideKicking, removal of level-gated zones, and the new mission difficulty settings -- all of which allowed a much greater access to canonical content than ever before.

This is similar to I17's allowance of (V)EATs to anyone with a level 20 PC -- it grants easier access to content that was gated.

Yeah, I know that for some, that's not good enough.

Annoyed that CO still hasn't done 40 to 50 content, considering how long it has been out for.

Not all of us tall people look down on the not-so-tall. (6 feet 4 inches here)

That's a good point. I suppose lowering or removing barriers does help.

3 hours is too effin' long for ANY task force. There's a very good reason why every TF added to the game since issue 5 have been considerably shorter than the original TFs.

At least they're finally addressing this issue with some of the old TFs rather than taking the cheap route of just throwing more merits on it to encourage people to run them.

It actually meant exactly what I meant it to. I don't enjoy all aspects of the game - stands to reason I'm capable of ignoring some while remaining focussed on a few others.

To elaborate on this, I think originally you were supposed to do TFs in multiple sessions. This becomes even more apparent in the Shadow Shard TFs. Of course the dooming flaw is that that would require lots of planning and with various people of various schedules of free time and it would bar everyone who's not in an organised-enough SG to ever do Task Forces.

So naturally the players circumvented this issue by playing TFs in one sitting. The devs noticed that behaviour and realised that longer does not equal better, so eventually new TFs are short but sweet, generally gravitating around one and a half to two hours.

Long story short, the devs actually look at how players play the game and make new content accordingly. Multi-session TFs are just horrible to organise and nobody cares for that so instead we get one-session TFs that, might I add, also have less filler content.

lol, but they'd charge you an additional 15 buck microtransaction fee for the new content for 40-50 even if they had it. Or however much they're selling new content that should've been in the game when it launched for.
