Biggest Problems with the Game Today

I see a lot of repeated suggestions and complaints, but I'm curious: What do you think the most important problems with the game are right now?

Personal answers:
Unnecessarily clunky team formation
Lack of supply and excess inflation on markets, especially Red
Lack of PvP support (distant third place, though)

Be well, people of CoH.

For me it has to be repetitive content, specifically mission maps. Even with MA giving us a boatload of stories ranging from decent to excellent, they are all on the same maps that have been in the game for years. The spawn points are the same. Most maps I can almost run with my eyes closed at this point.

Travel power suppression. I HATE this mechanic. HATE. IT.

Related to the last item, rooting while activating powers. I'd love to see this pretty much done away with, with the exception of a few powers (e.g., snipes, Tier 9 powers, etc.).

Custom Macros have been F'd up for a long time.i used to love setting up all my macros and keybinds, but for like 2 years they spam all the syntax that you use to set them up, the size of the bubbles doesnt seem to be customizable and the ability to vary the duration that they appear on screen has been rendered inoperable.
they screwed it up, realized it, looked at it,and said "i am not f'ing with that. let's just dazzle them with day jobs. They will soon forget."
but i don't wanna forget.
i put a lot of work into some of those and consider them minor masterpieces.and they are non working, and it detracts from the enjoyment i recieve from playing the game.
Best Game Ever? Hell Ya.
Still Needs Work?Damn Straight.
but i figured i wouldnt start really harpin on it till after going rogue drops, and gets nerfed, and gets patched.
ty for the soapbox.

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

IMO, the team formation in this game is one of the smoothest in any game. Our LFG tool rocks. It is not my fault if you (collective) don't take 2 seconds to set your LFG status and complain about not finding teams.

My husband and I discussed this at great length yesterday. His opinion is we haven't had an actual good issue since they brought out purples. My opinion is I havent had anything new to do that was fun in over a year.

The fact that they are hiring all these people and cant seem to get free issues out the door that have actual stuff to do created BY THE DEVS, IMO is hurting this game something severe.

^this. I haven't played the game in months for this very reason. I'm just bored with it. I'm hoping to play around with the new power sets and eagerly awaiting 'Going Rogue' though.

Call me stupid, but I don't have any problems with the game that I can recall outside of specific precedent.

Ah, this would probably be my fourth choice. It's riding low for me right now, though, because I've been playing Star Trek Online for the last week.*

The ability to filter out people on teams when searching is long overdue, as is the ability to directly request to join existing teams. The ability to search for existing teams would take more to implement, but it too has been requested for a very long time.

*Seriously, STO has seven PvP maps. Seven. That's actually even less than it sounds like, because the 4 space maps are virtually identical in practice (you're in space), and the other three maps are small, symmetric, ground maps. It's also a very PvP-centric game, to the point where one faction (out of two) has only PvP; imagine if CoH had only 4 maps in addition to Pocket D, but travel time was longer to get to missions. It's atrocious.

PvE content isn't much better. Guess what percentage of your total time is spent in either totally free space or an asteroid field, neither of which are distinct from space PvP. (Hint: It's over 2/3.)

You can somewhat search for existing teams. Find people whose names are in grey in /search. It means they are in a team.

World-chagning events. And by that I mean, a severe lack of them. I've been playing since the beginning and very little has changed in terms of setting, storyline progression and an overall sense of "this is actually going somewhere". A character I roll today is about to have the same experience as just about every other one I've played in the past 5+ years. You'd think with all the super-powered forces around, things, big things, would happen every so often that change the story and the landscape of the game.

Obviously, it's that the Dev's hate villains.

...Whaaat? >.>

Being serious, I have to go with repetitive content. Red-side, great stories but it doesn't change the fact that I've done that one story arc eight times so far. Blue-side, I still stumble across 'new' missions, but just because 'go hunt 15 lost' is worded slightly different doesn't mean that I haven't went and hunted fifteen lost before. Over and over and over, before. I'd love to see more story arcs for both sides, spread across all levels: and I'd especially love if these story arcs had some new maps (or less common maps used again) or some neat new decisions put in them (branching story lines, please?).

MA does help with this, a lot, once you weed through the blragh. But still the same missions and same mechanics.

You're unlikely to get the team leader and you're too likely to get someone in a TF or Ouro. It works, but it's needlessly clunky.

Content....either more or redo some of the existing ones.

Performance.....

Could care less about pvp.....and alot of others would agree with me.

Drop rates increase them or something prices are out of control compared to what you get for inf...I hate goin to the market either there is nothing or alittle and the prices are way out there.Sorry I don't have all day to farm for inf or drops so prices should be capped or drop rates increased. As it stands it just isn't feasible to get alot of things.

Repetative content is repetative.

Tieing with this is the lack of "unknowns". Before any fight I can calculate in my head the probabilty of suiccess. It's almost like I know too much about the game and its mobs. Not the devs fault, but I think I'm just getting bored with the game.

I miss the mystery in the game...Sometimes I..I think I want to start seeing other MMOs.

My machine, as dated as it is, can chew through games like Assassins Creed and BioShock with ease, yet land me in Creys Folly and I lag without looking at anything. Never mind the pain of Grandville or running a large taskforce.

Yep - totally agree with this. Please - I really hope they start re-skinning some of the generic instance maps after GR. Not only to take advantage of ultra-mode, but just to break up the feeling of "not another generic office/warehouse/cave mission."

Personally, I think the Devs missed an opportunity to give bases real purpose by not making MA a base feature throught the Mission Computer.

I'd say PvP. There was a cult following, and the traded those players out for a larger group... only they forgot the "larger group" part.

While not necessary to a game, balanced and interesting PvP can be a huge draw to people, and I feel strongly that Paragon Studios is missing out on this opportunity.

-More tilesets/maps (again like Sleestack/others have said, it's very repetitive).

-More content needed. This doesn't mean only new content...re-doing some content (like the Posi TF for example) would be a great benefit as well.

-Bases. This means things to do in your base as well as base raiding and Cathedral of Pain trial.

I would think that quite a few people would be interested in more content/bases/base raiding/CoP trial returning.

You know, I've wondered about this myself.....

Why do so many people use the cargo ship?

For one that complains about the game a lot I am baffled we you still subscribe to CoH; either you have money to burn or just enjoy whining.

Some folks whine for the sake of whining. Others, and I reluctantly place P_P into this group, whine because they want the game they love to be better so that more people might find it and love it.

Be well, people of CoH.
