What is your "panic button" power?
Most of my scrappers take Caltrops from the Weapon Mastery APP. I find this is more useful to them to distract mobs when too many are beating on them than most of the tier 9s. It is also somewhat useful in long fights, since I usually slot it with a Chance to Recharge Slow.

On my Blaster... Personal Force Field.
Or, if I'm hugely surrounded but not actually dying, I'll sometime fire off Nova to make sure I stay not dying
I have a Fire/Cold Corruptor who is purely offensive (she does not buff!) and for that, she usually tends to be rather suicidal. This is her panic button:
Hibernate -> Wait for full Health and Endurance -> Queue Super Speed -> Disable Hibernate, Super Speed is automatically executed -> RUN!
Usually, this lets me survive a full team wipe.
Placate.
Go beat up my buddy. Nothing to see here.
On my Villains it's usually Demonic Aura. Especially on my Brute, since with it on he's functionally invincible for about 60 seconds.
On my heroes it would probably be Eye of the Magus if I was a high enough level to get it...
Self Destruction; I might take some with me, and I avoid debt and deny their tiny AI minds the satisfaction of the kill.
On Controllers/Dominators, AoE holds are a favorite panic button. They last long enough to set up toggles again, eat some inspirations, or just run.

On my Blaster it's Caltrops or Eye of the Magus
On my TA/A it's Emp Arrow (unless we're fighting robots in which case I use it more frequently for the damage).
My Warshade has Black Dwarf (or teleport if Black Dwarf is already on)
To lazy to list more
On my Invulnerability / Super Strength Tanker, it's Unstoppable: if I have to turn it on, it means I'm in deep doo-doo and I have less than 3 minutes to turn the situation around...

For Nightshade, it's Gang War. Providing the enemy with an additional ten targets usually buys me enough time to resummon my pets. It's not infallible, mind you. I threw them at a Bane Spider Executioner in Grandville once and he immediately one-shotted the lot of them with a PBAoE. Ouch.
Hrm, lets see...
EM Pulse probably takes the cake, although Hibernate is quite nice too.
Demonic or Self Destruct either way they are going to die.
Phase Shift on pretty much all my alts, either the temp power or pool power.

15 seconds?
Self Destruct.
If I die, I'm taking them with me.
In the Arena of Logic, I fight unarmed.
Self Destruct.

Hey, quick question. If you activate Self Destruct, and then faceplant before the ten seconds are up, does the power still deal damage?
Yes, and you still get no debt.

I had an Ar/Dev that I slotted up the M30 with 2 Acc (plus TD), a Rech, and 3 Knockback enhancements for a while for emergencies. Minions and LT's usually ended up stuck in walls head first and such.
But really, one of the best is a slotted up Caltrops like some dude said earlier.

If I have Empathy, I spam Healing Aura.
If I have a travel power, I use it to escape.
If I don't, I just try to use as many attacks as possible and go down fighting!
I would use Self-Destruct if I had the Cyborg pack.
to TO THE END!
Villains are those who dedicate their lives to causing mayhem. Villians are people from the planet Villia!
On my Inv/SS Tank? Ethereal Shift. Because if I haven't beaten the entire mob by the time Unstoppable starts to drop, that's when I panic.
However, it turned out that Smith was not a time-travelling Terminator
It's that large, easy-to-find button that says "Go to hospital."
We've all been there... The battle is going poorly. Perhaps you underestimated your opponents or had a run of bad luck. Either way, your health bar is leaking like a sieve and you'll probably be dead in 15 seconds. What do you do?
For example, my energy/devices blaster has two "panic button" powers. When he's getting pounded, he may use Power Push to get the enemy bruiser away from him. If there are multiple foes, he may cast Caltrops on his own position to "persuade" the baddies to leave the area.
What about your characters(s)?
