So, when do we actually get new Costumes?
The stupidity of "We ain't go nuthin' in years!" aside, I actually have to say that, while I'm happy to snatch up all these fancy new costumes with the Booster Packs, there HAS been... Shall we call it "a concerning trend" for new costume pieces to come from booster packs mostly and in regular content barely at all. Make no mistake, I love the costumes I paid for and I don't regret it, but I'd love to see more free pieces, as well.

Still waiting for the OP to explain by what measurement of time June 29th, 2009 is over a year ago.

Anyways, honestly, I didn't even notice that the Ulterior or Vines costumes even existed. Ulterior looks just like Justice, which WAS added over a year ago(Earth time).
In fact, why don't I REMIND you all your responses to Ulterior and Vines and new Faces when they launched.

Fact of the matter is, ever since new hairstyles were given out(Again, an *earth* year ago), we haven't gotten anything even remotely major. The only thing we get is minor little costumes, and everything cool we have to shovel out another $10 for.
Hell, in order to get, IMHO, the *best* looking costume, you have to buy the mac pac, and IT ONLY COMES WITH 1 COSTUME.
A) I don't think Ulterior looks anything like Justice, and B) I liked both of Ulterior and Vines (and the faces) straight from the get-go.

Is it some sort of a rule that we have to have this thread every time a new booster is released?
Yes. It's the third rule.
The first two rules are YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT MAKING COSTUME THREADS AFTER A BOOSTER IS RELEASED!
Main Hero: Chad Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1396 Badges
Main Villain: Evil Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1193 Badges

I still say that regardless of disappointment factor involved, 20 or so faces, a costume set, a costume pattern and several costume change emotes constitutes a fairly nice addition to the game. Not that I wouldn't like to see more mind you (and I fully expect to see a good chunk of new costumes with GR personally).

This thread plays out like the "What have the Romans ever done for us?" Monty Python bit.
For those of you that just joined in the fun, Candlestick rarely has anything nice to say about anything.
I see plenty of new, great looking costumes on a daily basis in CoH, because it's what you do with them creatively, not what is handed to you, that makes a good costume.

It's sort of a no-win situation, really.

Of course, I believe the phrasing they used in the presentation is that players would be able to earn the Praetorian Clockwork pieces...

My answer: Didn't care. Costume pieces are wonderful, but any given costume piece has only so much potential for some such as myself.
Power Customization, on the other hand, single-handedly took a defibrillator to my previously dead interest in rolling alts.
If we're twisting definitions ("Ulterior isn't new -enough-"), I take my taffy and twist it by saying that Powers are an extension of the costume, and we essentially got the infinite possibilities of the costume creator multiplied by 2.
I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm saying you shouldn't complain that they choose to give us a mansion rather than fix the leaky faucet.
(Also: Jay is involved in character design. Praetoia is going to have the fabulous Loyalists and pathetic Resistence to deal with. His hands are more full than I imagine would be at a rigged key party.)
Shields were released less than a year ago. and while they technically aren't costume pieces, their customizability makes them such for most practical purposes.

Any addition to the game someone doesn't like is going to be minimized, and anything they do like that isn't given in a way they like is going to be made a big deal of. This is called subjective opinion. You may not like what we got, but some did. You may not think things are happening fast enough, but there are some of us who look at the totality of what we've gotten. You may not be willing to pay extra for new stuff, but when it all comes down to it, in a game you're playing on an ongoing basis, the cost (even with packs) is cheap at twice the price, compared to other new games or gaming systems.
Short answer is, you'll need a more compelling argument to get any large amounts of sympathy about what's bugging you.

I would; however, like to see more flat textures added on a regular basis. More complex mods can remain the perview of the booster packs.
so do the packs point to a throttling of the costume bits, or has it just pushed more stuff being added and funded with a seperate revenue stream? Looking at how costume pieces have been released, im not convinced that there really has been a slowdown. I am expecting going rogue to contain a volume of costume pieces on par with city of villains. Again, not free, but in line with past precedent.
