Dual Pistols - Custom weapons
Crush if you must, but in a world with Nemesis retro-tech already firmly established there is no a priori reason for this restriction. Any decent super-scientist or technomage or the like should be able to come up with pistols that look like flintlocks and outperform modern weapons; no reason to tell the would-be pirates they're stuck with modern hardware.

Hear that, ya ninjas?!
Anyway, I completely agree. Personally, Flintlocks and Clockwork pistols definately get my vote. Anyway, I think there was an image of a multi-barreled Flintlock on the first page?
Here's a few from a little googling:

This one could be tweaked a bit to have clips on the sides and slide on like a gauntlet :

This one has potential for something steam-punkish - perhaps add a clip in the handle?:

Not necessarily a new custom weapon so much as a different orientation.
Death the Kid from the Soul Eater anime holds his pistols upside down and uses his pinky to pull the trigger. It is an interesting detail of his character design but makes for a very unique look.
and I love the bare hand finger pointing suggestion. But I think that would really need to wait until we had a laser/ray gun style power.
Invisible rayguns! pew! pew! pew!
I know it was originally supoosed to be a laser pistol, but there is no reason it could not fire bullets:
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_cywg7wzfIB...0/LazerTag.jpg
I always loved the look of this gun, and would like to see something similarly sleek and futuristic-looking.
I'd love to see something like the HK P90c from Fallout:
Though modern, super-techy pistols would be great for spies and agents, I would have to say my most desired pistol types would feature cowboy and pirate themes. So they'd look something like an old Colt or flintlock, but they'd be capable (by means of advanced tech or magic) of firing multiple rounds.
[[As a side note, I'd also like to eventually be able to equip MA NPCs with functional early firearms, including early pistols (Slug), shotguns (Buckshot), Civil War era rifle (Slug, Bayonet), etc.If there is some sort of cognitive collapse based on the idea that ancient firearms couldn't really throw out the kind of barrage that the dual pistol set does, keep in mind two things: 1) a hero or villain will have a costume motif that they follow, and it will extend to the appearance of their weaponry, and 2) in movies and TV shows we regularly see a fusillade of bullets coming from guns that are never reloaded or which can't hold that many rounds. We don't reload in our game either.
The only thing we have access to right now, in terms of antique looking firearms, are the Nemesis rifles, but other enemy factions (BP, Hellions, etc.) have additional art.]]
"I know what you're thinking. Was that 6 shots, or 666 shots? Are you feeling lucky, punk?"
I like the triple-rotating-barrel flintlock featured here:

Another vote for something based on the Kriss Super V, with the stock folded.
http://media.hamptonroads.com/media/...una500x325.jpg
and a Luger P08. Classic shape, and perfect for Nazi villains.
How about one that's already in the game? The Uzi has a single-shot mode, you know. And the pistol models that Arachnos minions use should at least be available with the Spider Smasher badge.
I may not know guns, but I know what I like.
"A standard combat pistol, chambering 20 rounds of .45 cal ammo, plus a single shot kinetic fired .12 gauage for breaching doors. To use the .12 gauge you hold the weapon gripping the rear portion, depress the trigger, then slam it down on the surface you want to breach."
"The only gun manufactured today that serves as both fire-arm and brass knuckles, rumor has it that it was designed by and for gun-fu practitioners."

The Walter P-38 is pretty cool (360-degree view for your referencing pleasure)
Here is a listing of some interesting, fictional handgun concept art, of which a couple of images caught my eye:
LUIGI-FRANCHI "NOBLEMAN" 2375eb
P - +1 - J - P - 4D6 (.44 magnum cased) - 6 - 1 - VR
This gun leaves us breathless in its elegance and beauty. It harkens back to a time of honor and chivalry. Of course using it in combat is not recommended, though it is fully capable. It is one of the most highly sought after collectors pieces being produced today. Each one is hand made from scratch and uniquely engraved. Real ivory grips, solid 24 karat gold adornments, and more style than should be possible in a weapon.
Something along the lines of this (or anything vaguely Steampunk) would go a long way. Very "form over function" in design, something that says, "Wow, that's unique, classy and distinguished, if a tad unwieldy looking."
RONIN ARMS "WHITE CRANE MK-II" 390eb
P - +2 - L - R - 2D6+3 (10mm caseless) - 20 - 1 - VR
The first white crane was so popular, they decided to do it again, this time chambered in the slightly smaller 10mm, but the gun is much more accurate now, and holds more rounds as well. In addition the grips are molded for comfort, although it is still unsure know how you carry that thing without cutting the crap out of yourself.
Something like this lends itself well to the overall "gun-kata" feel the set appears to embody... even if large axe-like blades on a pistol are kind of... silly. Making the pistols look like they could be used as melee weapons would be very interesting.
Lastly, this image is less a perfect reference, and more an example of what I would assume it both on awesome concept and potentially the most... challenging request to make. Obviously, we have no idea how "Change Ammo" works (specifically how it affects the effects), but having a futuristic-looking pistol that ALSO had a visual glow we can alter (similar to the laser sights on some of the current pistols), would be AMAZING.
I'd like to see some non-standard guns so I'll second the requests for a retro/steam-punk style pistol.
Additionally a bio-pistol would be rather cool, basically a vaguely pistol shaped organism that fires something equivalent to bullets. I can't think of anything that uses them other than the 'nids so you get pictures of 'nids .
Fallout also had the .223 Pistol which was basically a sawn-off rifle. I'm not sure if it's distinctive enough but it might be cool
'Ghostly' Transparent versions of the current pistols for the Force/Fire/Cold/Toxic-Poison ammo types. That way you could have either a 'manifested' mutant power of pistols or magic-etheral guns.
Still here, even after all this time!
Perhaps a "Gatling pistol"? You can make Rularuu eyes move and Vanguard shields open; perhaps you could make the barrels rotate? I'm envisioning bulky, oversized pistols with a ( hopefully ) rotating cylinder of barrels. Perhaps with a sleek futuristic version and a brassy, clunky steampunk version.

I'd like to throw in the look of these as well if they haven't already been mentioned.

Well, hell. Guess I have to weigh in on this one, don't I.
Lots of bullets, you say. How about a 100 round helical magazine? The Calico M950 has you covered there.
The classic Colt 1911 is a must.
The Česká Zbrojovka korpion vz. 61 E spits bullets out quite fast.
I have a personal desire to see the Heckler & Koch USP find a way in.
The Mauser C96: excellent for any 5th Column wannabe.
Seeing this sucker redone for CoX would be killer. Along a similar vein, there's always this.

The Nova Model 757 Cityhunter.
The Fabrica de Armes GP-80.
The Seburo C-X.
And, of course, to signal the end of this post, I must sound The Gong.

Not a pistol BUT could provide some good ideas...
"The Zorg ZF1 Gun from The Fifth Element: Zorg's gun is nothing short of spectacular. It can break down into four pieces that are undetectable by x-rays, is good for left or right handers, features a 3000 round magazine, has a "Replay" button that sends all shots to the same location, a rocket launcher, an arrow launcher (with posion or explosive-tipped arrows), a net launcher, a flamethrower, and an "ice cube" freezing blast. Oh, and it'll self-destruct if you push the button on the bottom."

I'd like to nominate the Beretta 92F.

This site's also a good place to look up guns in movies. ^_^
If somebody you're arguing with goes off the deep end, don't follow.
If fictional properties are fair game, I'd really like to see something similar to the pistols Alucard of Hellsing uses - modern/realistic looking, but really, really big.
Also, please, no "real humans couldn't use them for reasons x y z" ... We're superheroes/villains. We can be supernaturally strong or have super tech/magic that reduces the recoil to acceptable levels or whatever other explanation the character wants to offer. It's a weak argument.
This is the only picture I can find that gives any frame of reference to how big these things are in comparison to the character's arms.
According to Wikipedia (unnecessary info cut):
Hellsing ARMS .454 Casull Auto. This gun fires custom made .454 Casull rounds containing an explosive silver core. The weapon is 39 cm in length.
Hellsing ARMS 13 mm Auto "Jackal". It has a length of 39 cm and weighs at 16 kg, made of black gunmetal.
Edit:
Also in the realm of massive(ly awesome!) handguns is the Launcher Pistol from the MMO Star Wars Galaxies:
It actually fires mini rockets in that game (it's a handheld Rocket Launcher, hence the name), but, hey, it's sci-fi, bullets work too.

I24 Proc Chance = (Enhanced Recharge + Activation Time) * (Current PPM * 1.25) / 60*(1 + .75*(.15*Radius - 0.011*Radius*(360-Arc)/30)) Single Target Radius = 0. AoE Non-Cone Arc = 360.
We'll start with the basics...visually distinctive classic firearms
Beretta/Glock/Sig 9mm (and you don't have to stay matte black)
See Here: http://www.scaar.at/airsoft/sword.htm (Beretta 92F "Sword Cutlass" from Black Lagoon)
Luger 9mm
Walther PPK http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Walther_PP.jpg
M1911 .45 Automatic http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:M1911_Pistol_US.jpg
.45 Longslide w/laser sighting http://terminator.wikia.com/wiki/File:Glau-Gun.jpg
Desert Eagle .50
.44 Automag
.44 S&W Revolver (modern) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:S%...comparison.jpg
.44 S&W Model 3 (western top-break) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:S%...ntier_1791.jpg
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Th...osey_wales.jpg
Colt Peacemaker revolver (western classic) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:1956prime2.jpg
Then offer up the additional classic sub-gun categories...also very visually distinct
Mini Uzi http://terminator.wikia.com/wiki/File:Uzi-03.jpeg
Mac-10
Skorpion
MP5
XM-8 (short barrel/no-stock version) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:XM8-Poster.jpg
Then some Exotics...many of those mentioned or shown above are good candidates, and there is not reason not to include "classically" characterized weapons like Piratical Flintlocks and such. Magic and Gageteers can do quite a lot in the Hero/Villian genre.
It doesn't even need Steampunk, Technosorcery or Future/Alien tech, we already have things like the Metal Storm technology handgun. Quad barrel, caseless, electronically controlled, all rounds pre-loaded inline in the same barrel. Fire rate of 1 million a minute. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_Storm
http://www.defensereview.com/1_31_20...rm%20VLE_1.jpg
http://www.metalstorm.com/images/sto...itions%201.jpg
No Pic, because it doesn't exist in handheld form (as far as I know).
Gauss Pistol. Glowie mapping would look nice too(even though gauss would have any)
The plastic tips at the end of shoelaces are called aglets. Their true purpose is sinister.
