Dual Pistols - Custom weapons

I've always been partial to those laser pistols from the disney movie The Black Hole:

They don't look like much here:


But they seem more impressive in action especially with sound effects. They don't fire "bullets" but that's probably something you can work around.

The Calico guns have always been some of my favorites. They have a rather unique look and magazine.

Thinking about, the animations themselves could be the exact same. Characters could move the same way with wrist-guns that they do with normal pistols. However, the barrel flash would need to be moved from a few inches from the end of the hand to a point hovering above the forearm. Not sure how that would work, but I'm sure our [blatant brown-nosing] awesome development team [/blatant brown-nosing] could make it work.

Don't forget guns made for elementals - a gun made of rock, crystal or of fire, for instance.

Thinking about it, you've got four bullet types - a dual pistol set for each type would suit the person who wants the full costume change effect every time they change damage types. Or maybe they want a toxic pistol that shoots fire bullets.

and I think the idea of taking a few existing weapons and converting them to bio-organic would suit that area very well.

I would like to see a least 1 or 2 of the guns to pick from be different and unique.

Maybe this can help set a tone.

Another I just thought of, the upgraded pistol from Bioshock, for more of a dieselpunk feel. Not many good side views, but here's the back.

My vote is for some Robocop typish pistols those things were automatic if i remember correctly and they looked so awesome and they were just so long I loved them

Or some good old fashioned arm cannons. Either back of the arm mounted or covering all of the arm.

Hmm... One thing I'd want for the set is something that looks like it'd be used by Nemesis' soldiers. I also wouldn't mind seeing the Arachnos Pistol (the one that's toted around by normal "Wolf Spider" NPCs) as an option, unlockable or otherwise.

Obviously a copyright design - but it would need modification to fit a CoH character anyway; and the basic design is something I love. It has that beautiful 'chunky' look to it. >.> That and I've always liked the clip being out in front like that.

Just random ideas:

-Bio organic style with like...tubes or something attached through your arm. So you're shooting, like, bodily created ammo or its powered by some kind of material in the body. Would probably not work with the whole pistol spinny animation if there is one.

-Mystic flintlock with like...a glowie spiny circle rune symbol thingy like this

on the end of the barrel or in front of the cylinder(if it has one which would make the rune be within the gun). Color tintable of course.

-Junkyard pistol. Oversized, impractical looking, built of visually distinctive components like Jurassik's mace. Like a muffler with a butane tank shove into one side and some kind of trigger mechanism made out of...um, something....you get the idea.
