Just keepin' things in perspective.

Yeah, but Sexy Jay's minions don't have sexy names.

That means it's just like the freakshow costume. A power toggle that completely replaces your model/costume.

Which I have zero desire for.

I want the torso, the shoulder pieces and the gloves.

Perhaps the pieces will be available with GR once it goes live since we saw the gloves in game during beta.

What's more: Those gloves only showed up on the Huge body selection. That costume power doesn't use the huge model.

So I've still got some hope.
Of course, if it's like most of the other cool enemy models in the game, half the parts, and all the ones people would want, use attachment points and custom skeletons that the players don't have.

I hope not, because an evil version of Blue Steel is a lot more fun to contemplate than yet another robot army.

It's a nice model, but we will grow bored with destroying them by the truckloads within the first week of GR's launch. However, what it does say is that there is a Praetorian version of the Clockwork King. Unless the King is good - that's always a possibility. I've always thought that the CK and Dr Vahzilok would make good resistance fighters against Tyrant's regime.

Were I evil, I'd suggest that it would make a lot of sense for Tyrant to keep the Clockwork King locked up, keep Mother Mayhem messing with him and use the Clockwork Army for free.

The other thing that model strikes me as is just a little bit... Nemesis.

A visual upgrade is unnecessary. Of course, that is just my opinion, but I would prefer to not invest in new hardware to run the only computer game I play, thank you very much.

There are already a lot of fallback options in the game to reduce the load from visual effects. I'm pretty sure any graphics update would allow you to use those to strike a balance between good framerate and decent visuals.

I'm very much in favor of a visual update. The game is looking a bit dated at this point and I think the designers could actually get a lot of bang for the buck without exacting a huge reduction in performance if they approach a visual refresh with equal regard for optimization and aesthetics.

In other words, have faith! (and hope they learned a thing or two from the Grandville experiment)

The design if the Praetorian Clockwork is pretty nice but not very Clockworky. Then again, it is Praetoria...

Is this a costume set or a power? If its a power, let em have it, but if this is a costume set exclusive to hero con attendees.. wow..........

I'm only ladylike when compared to my sister.

At least you're on the correct continent. We'll never see these things EU side

Although the face is so crappy it does ease the pain slightly.

I like the ol' rust-bucket Clockwork... These guys could just be cyborg/robot guys from anywhere.

When GR comes out, I'll make an MA arc about old vs. new Clockwork and make the new ones lose! That'll show 'em!!

Well, ok, not really, but I do still like the old ones better.

I'm assuming it's just a toggle power like the halloween costume/past hero-con gift things. It'll make you look like that, but you can't change the color/mix and match costume pieces. You'll look exactly like that.

Anti-Matter's (? Or were they Neuron's? I forget who had the Silver clockwork and who had the Blue ones) minions will be getting a facelift. Which is good, I think they only ever used the clock model because they didn't have time to make a new model for them. They were busy back then making the rularuu, carnies, malta and the lame possessed scientists who to this day still don't make any sense really (we're scientists and we say MAGIC ISN'T REAL!)...had a lot on their plate.

As long as they don't turn the REAL clockwork into looking like generic robot men.

Since the links both to TenTon and the official site specifically say "With a simple toggle, you can actually become this awesome character in-game!"... I'd assume it's a power.

That's my problem with the new design too. This Praetorian Clockwork...isn't Clockwork. There's no visual resemblance to anything we've been shown over the past 5 years as Clockwork. It's just a robot/cyborg. It's Techwork.

Whether or not Antimatter's and Neuron's Clockwork actually count as Praetorian Clockwork or not, this thing just doesn't fit the bill. "Clockwork" implies something ramshackle made of gears and clunky bits, not sleek futuristic technology. It's like taking the Devoured models and relabeling them "Sexy Hos". It just doesn't work.

But sleek and futuristic is like the mirror of ramshackle and clunky - so it fits the mirror universe theme

And I don't think there needs to be a visual link if there's a story link - like there's a Praetorian CK who started off with homemade robots, but progressed to these modern looking ones.

I assume these Praetorian Clockwork are simply a replacement for Anti-Matter and Neuron's minions, not actual Clockwork. They would have to rewrite some of Tina Macintyre's missions, but using the Clockwork boss model for them never made much sense to me, and I like the makeover.

Like I said earlier, I think it's better to ignore almost everything we know about the Praetorians in the game right now - GR is going to totally redo the whole Praetorian concept, i think.

Yeah, these are nice looking Praetorian Clockwork alright. They look similar to the Amped Clockwork in my MA ArcID 15127, "A Spanner In The Works Part One." I would have expected them to be more "clock-worky" too, but in Praetorian Earth I'm guessing that maybe the Clockwork King doesn't get whomped by Blue Steel and actually becomes a qualified robot-maker, producing these automatons of steel and wire instead of his pretendy psychically puppeteered ones on Prime Earth.

These are toggle costume powers, you get to flip the switch and "become" the Praetorian Clockwork in appearance.

Last year I flew from NZ to the US, so the distance argument doesn't really wash with me. If you really want it you'll go to HeroCon, it's for people who make the effort.

Perhaps it's just me staring too hard, but it actually kind of looks like there's a lot of gears and such in the torso and waist area of the picture. So gears and such with shiny-sleek armor layered over top.
