When playing my namesake Kin/Rad Defender, I generally have to resort to every dirty trick and last measure to survive while solo. On teams, however, I've found that my scientist concept and collector tendencies have come in quite handy- I've noted at least once that I have lots of tricks up my sleeve.

Kin lacks a rez, but the university/hospital Day Job Accolade's rez power helped the team take down a particularly stubborn Mary Maccomber. I find myself using the Fortune power as much as I use Speed Boost and Increase Density, and I'm one of the few people crazy enough to make Self Destruct part of my regular strategy (usually combined with the Safeguard self-rez power). Of course, I love how this all fits my character concept of a resourceful, cunning scientist who can think outside the box both in the lab and on the battlefield. (and isn't afraid to get caught in some big explosions)

Also, it kinda makes me feel like Batman. What do you think?

I tend to use the temporary travel powers a fair bit, some of my characters don't have them for concept reasons, but it helps in traversing zones quickly. Self Destruct I've been known to use when close to a level, take a group out with myself, then I'm back on my feet and at full health/endurance. This tactic also works well in Sewers at low levels.

I'd use my Crey Pistol more if it didn't have such a recharge time on it. What's the dealio with that, anyhoo?

That's neat.

I pick up temp powers and Day Job accolades to fill out character concepts. My elf knight got the bow and arrow from Croatoa. My cyborg street samurai got fragmentation grenades and the Vanguard psi shield (which also nicely solves SR's problem with nonpositional Psi attacks), etc.

I often do the same... except with day job powers which are renewable. I use them whenever I remember. Which isn't often.

Otherwise I can merely show off my massive collection of various guns: ghost slaying, rikti, shotgun, nullifier, void hunter...

I have a BS/regen scrapper who is supposed to be a weapons expert. I make sure he has the Croatoa bow and the revolver temp power.

I collect Temporary Powers the way some players collect badges. Except without the farming. Of course, no Temporary Power demands that you kill 100 Bosses of a specific type to get, so... yeah.

I also use the crafted pistol power to give my Scrappers some range. Well, I used to, now I have the Nemesis Staff and Blackwand for that.

I like throwing my pets out during TF bosses on occasion for fun. The clockwork don't do much, but the Warwolf often holds up well enough.

Heck, I've got a nickname for my Shivan. (Dessie)

My Blaster is the real temp power collector though, going through Striga and Croatoa helps.

Peebles' Wedding Band and that nice Bow and Arrow are both must-haves for any temp-power user. They're really handy to have around! AND they're renewable, which gets rid of that "gotta save it" stigma that many are afflicted with.

I've been using the wedding band on my Regen scrapper to take the alphas for those cowardly tankers I always seem to get teamed with. :3

But overall, I actually hoard temp powers quite a bit. Especially the Safeguard/Mayhem ones. Those aren't exactly easy to collect! But.. they can be a huge boon to a character that lacks AoE. You got your Psi-Scream temp power, your Energy Torrent, your Flamethrower.. Yum!

I love temp powers!

I hoard all my temporary powers, because I don't want to use them. Period.

You stole my post.

Yes I do. I tend to build Revolver temp powers for my Sekrit Agent MA scrapper for use as a "backup weapon" and some range, etc.
What can I say. I'm a 35 year old childish man in a 35 year old man's body.

It works for my fire/fire brute.
1. Leap into a group I clearly can't handle.
2. Toss a couple of AoE's.
3. Self-destruct.
4. Rise of the Phoenix.
5. Profit.

On my main, I have a huge arsenal of weapons I can pull out: revolver, baseball bat, sledgehammer, shotgun, flamesthrower, bow, Crey pistol, etc. Currently, the coolest one is the Dimensional Grounding Ray because so many people have no idea what it is.

I hoard temp powers, for the most part. I like opening the Powers window and seeing the huge list there.

I do use the ones that are fully replaceable, though, like Day Job powers and the weapons deal powers. Every now and then, it's fun to have my empath open up on a corridor full of mobs with a long chain of cones (Tentacles->Night Fall->Flamethrower->Plasmatic Taser).

I hoard temp powers, particularly pets, particularly on my Mastermind.

It's really really really fun to unload a swarm of pets on an AV. I think I had 15 pets against an AV once, all from me (including my henchmen and Dark Servant)

The lovely Lunaticia is an absolute temporary power nut. If it's a renewable power, I make sure to have it available somewhere I can get to easily just in case, even if it duplicates something I can already do anyway. If it's any kind of gun or weapon, I make sure to keep at least one charge left in it so I can go through the animation sequence of her pulling out a dozen different rifles, lasers, uzis, weird mojo cannons, bows, crossbows and pistols.

Currently the only temporary powers she doesn't have villainside are things with ownership timers (rather than use timers), a couple day job badges she hasn't finished, and a Heavy from RV (some day... but an Elec/Elec Brute isn't exactly a PvP powerhouse, no matter how I slot it, and I don't want to cheat my way to the reward by farming with a friend).

By careful accumulation of debt (back before you could shut off EXP), I managed to take her through every single temporary power awarding mission in the game, and then repeated dozens of Mayhem Missions hoping to get lucky picking up several more temp powers that are only available in Hero story arcs, but appear randomly in the raid mini-mission redside. When I put them all in my power trays, I have tons of leftovers that just don't fit.

This is part of why I love the Test Server so much, because I can use an infinite quantity of these powers. When I help with Open Beta, I consider that kind of my specialty, seeing how assorted temp powers may screw with new content.

Same here. Except the ones with time limits, like the Rune of Warding, my temp powers get saved. I have one character with 20 Rocks.

I'm pretty bad about this myself in just about any game I play. The worst thing I can be given in a D&D-based game is a Bag of Holding because that sucker will end up containing an endless variety of scrolls, potions, wands, and miscellaneous magic items I may one day find a use for "when I really need them."

I have no problem using infinite-use items or (in this game) temp powers. It's the consumable ones that must be hoarded and never used.

I hoard them...and use them.

You know how much of a pain Miss Liberty is solo on a Spine/SR stalker? I just took the straightforward approach and cracked out every damn pet I had. I was a MM and a Stalker. Just swarmed her.

It was like...

Yeah Liberty. It was.

I horde them as do most

I actually sort of hate having to break one out.
Most of the time they sit there and I forget I have them though, so my 'hate' doesn't come up too much
