Explain the build rollback

A bit of a black eye for the game, having this happen just after the server issues on 2XP weekend.

Hopefully it is fixed and pushed to live later this week.

Better than ON 2xp weekend. Wait... wait. Champion and Protector (both also affected heavily this time) were down for a while then.

I am @Master-Blade. Thank you so much. I've been doing these calendars since the official ones ended in April:

June 2009 CoH Calendar ("Matrix Room")
July 2009 CoV Calendar (Sister Airlia - Cimerora Contact)
August 2009 CoV Calendar (The Leviathan's Tomb - Patron Arc mission in Sharkhead)
September 2009 CoH Calendar (Hero 1's Time Capsule)

I knew that little varmit was planning this the whole time...

On a side note Co* dosent have near the funding as like say WoW does and even WoW borks their patches a number of times. Its almost impossible to catch every single bug going through, Im just glad they pulled it off the servers once they realized it was messing them up.

"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."

Exactly why they have a publishing blackout for double xp weekends (and reactivation weekends, I think).

I heard a rumor that summoned Rikti Monkeys will replace the police drones outside the AE buildings for the next 2XP weekend - is this true?

I ment "defeeted" since clearly the loss of ones feet is the only reason why someone with the secondary of Invinc could not make it to the hospital on their own. =)

You forgot "somone".
The correct text (for somebody with a base) is:
Quote:
You have been defeated! You can either WAIT for someone to revive you, or be rushed to either the Hospital or the Medical Center in your base.
Also, how do you LCTM from your Desktop? lol

When I did the log out option it wouldent log me out for what ever reason because of the LCTM and I had to 'Force" the program to quit. Was amusing to say the least but also very annoying

I'll actually be a bit sorry when the do manage to fix the chat bug and make it stick, because I'll no longer be able to blame the devs when my kitten plays "death from above" with my fingers as I chat.

On the plus side, there were enough server-side issues that they are going to give us an extra DXP weekend after i16 goes live.

Since this appears to be a problem with missing game assets, that is the rikti monkey pet, I'm guessing the build team is going to triple check that all game assets and references pointing to them are correct before they try another rollout.

Someone in build and QA is going to have a bit of explaining to do.

RE: Don't know what I'm talkin about

Sure I will admit that I have never done any programming like this. But I do know loads of HTML and have also programmed in Flash because um . . . oh yeah, I took classes on them. So I know what it is like to have unexpected bugs. And I do know there is a difference between nice clean organized code, and sloppy code. Pieces of code can be placed in different places in slightly different ways and still achieve a similar result. But it is integral to observe the hierchy and keep things organized. I am aware that bugs happen. But lately it hasn't been an occasional bug. It has been expected to have multiple bugs per issue. So I will stick to my guns there regardless of your opinion about my knowledge of code.

That said, do not get me wrong, I still enjoy the game, I was just saying bugs are annoying when they throw punches in bunches.

This is like saying since you can build a treehouse you understand the principles of building a skyscraper or since you can make a paper airplane you don't understand why space shuttles might blow up.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

Come back when you know a real programming language. And learn the difference between legacy code and fresh code.

Not to mention the difference between knowing how to code, and knowing how to code on a team.

Plus, even if a person knows a programming language and has been through the full product lifecycle on a large team numerous times, the fact is that doesn't equip them with any knowledge at all of the code situation of CoH. The fact is they have tons of legacy code and they're stretching it to do new things. That is tough, and can result in bizarre bugs.
