Not sure if I am dense or what, but the only option in user CP to change your password links you to Account Management, where you can change your game password. I want my forum password to be different from my game password, and this doesn't seem possible given the user CP tools here.

Whoa, what's up with the Dev Digest? It looks a mess in there...

This. Having to click "english" each time is unintuitive. The new
board design is a little claustrophobic as it is, but transition would
be friendlier with a way to just go straight to the expected format.
If the board software can't auto-detect region, then an option for
it in user prefs would be nice.

Honestly, I have to disagree. There are many talented people out there who would probably like to have a canvas bigger than 100x100. Also, imo, text sigs running on from text posts just mean more reading rather than skimming over neat, appropriately sized images.

If the Devs can allow an personal option (don't think they can with vBul boards) to turn off img tags from signatures rather than all images, fine. Rather have something available with the option to turn off rather than not having it at all.

Wow...ummm...I can haz old forums back plz?

Not a fan of this new setup. Seems to me it has a lot more, well, fluff, I guess I'd call it.

And frick, I've got a dang _NA after my handle. >.<

Quoted for truth. Having people listing their 50s, "witty" quotes, and their arcs clutters up the forum far more than sig images. More options is better than fewer.

Is there a way to see who a person is replying to in linear mode? This is the only thing I haven't figured out.

Oh, and the heroic stars aren't villainous. I'd love to see what you all come up with in the future for this. *hint, hint*

Others obviously want both.

I don't think there is a make-everyone-happy solution here, all we can do is to state our desires, and let the community team decide which route to go.

Personally, I'd prefer it if sig images went the way of the Dodo.
I'd like to see them die too, sig pics really stand out when you're browsing at work

Avatars are enough IMO, sig pics just get big and ugly and you end up wading through more signature than post.

Oh, and can somebody get rid of this _EU on my name please

Click English to open it all up to your liking, then Bookmark that instead of the "main" page. Suggested in another thread, and it works, I just tried it myself. Of course, if you don't use bookmarks this won't help much, sad to say.

Different people see things different ways. When reading, I can block out text sigs, but visually an image sig throws me off every time. When it's in the path of my reading, my eyes are drawn to it. I don't like banner ads on webpages, I don't like banner sigs in forums. I'm willing to chalk it up that you and I can agree to disagree if you can. For player creativity, I'll head to the Scoop, the Fiction forum, the Art forum, the AE, or a costume contest. When I want info and discussion, that's what I want, not pretty (or ugly) pictures making regular speed bumps in my reading.

Can someone tell me how to change my forum password. When I go to 'Edit Email and Password' it redirects me to PlayNC to change my in-game password.

I want the forums to have a different password to my game account......

Also, some of you may have noticed either a _EU or _NA appended to your names. Rest assured this is not a permanent feature but only for the interim. We will announce further details of how we plan to resolve the naming conflicts in the near future.

I really hope Near Future means VERY near future, trully dislike that _NA on my name, and already looked up the other Starsman_EU and he only posted once 4 years ago...

I'm an identity freak and fear some one may register tomorrow and snatch the plain Starsman.

PS: Love the new rich text editor.

I "think" what they are looking for, as I am, is the Favorite Forum toggle that UBB had that would allow you to customize what you saw on your front page. When you wanted to see the rest of the forums you had to click a link to show all forums.

For example, for the longest I had Justice Server, Announcements, HeroCon, Developer's Corner, Technical Issues and Bugs, and The Training Room (Test Server) set as Favorite Forums so that I didn't have to see all of the other servers that I wasn't interested in. Occaisionally I'd add a new Favorite (much as I recently added the Technical Issues and Bugs section or various Beta boards as needed) but mostly I only saw the forums that I wanted to see.

Is there a way to set this in vBulletin?

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

I can do that but I'm not on board with asking the Dev's to prevent them completely. As suggested a few posts above, more options are better than fewer and I agree with that.

On another subject, I like that you can see who the person was quoting now. Multiquotes are ok, but I'm used to pyramid quoting! :P

You and me both, my new European friend.

Also, nice to meet you, all you European folks! Now if only we could merge server pools so we could intermingle :/

This is exactly what I'm looking for!

Now this is a layout I'm used to using.

Like the new forums so far.

Put me down to be a fan of the old boards. Particularly who is replying to who in a thread (because I usually browse without logging in), and the Sticky Post icons (which makes it easier to pass over those, instead of having to scan all the subject titles). That's just my personal opinion. The rest I'll probably get used to easy enough, but it's just those two things that bugged me about other boards and I used to enjoyed having here. I'm weird, I know.

This was the first thing I noticed so yay for clicking "English" to get the format as pointed out, thanks!

Don't want my first post to be negative so, good job migrating old stuff to the new stuff and getting it online.

Bear with me, testing avatar, sig and name.

Woo hoo! I'm unique!

It looks like everyone has the grey backround and outline on their avatars.

So far, so good.

So someone in Europe had the name JDouble? Boo.

The thing is, not everyone will be using neat, appropriately sized images.
Sometimes these things degenerate into "messes" (subjective) that some find quite jarring.
Extra bonus points for animated sig images.

In addition to aesthetics, sig images also affect how much data is downloaded. Being larger in size than avatars, sig images often also take up more space, sometimes significantly so. Again, this is something some might want to avoid.

Sure, some will have neat, appropriately sized, reasonably large (storage-wise) sig images, but I *really* doubt that *everyone* will.
