So how much longer?

So how much longer will our EU servers be brought down in the middle of our day? Servers have been busier and back to their normal states last few days with lots of chatter/competitions going around, but how do they expect to keep this up if EU servers can only be played in morning or afternoons?

If this is only a short term solution then great, if not . . . . . . . then theres a problem.

I haven't experienced any server downtime (except from yesterday, but what wasn't to do with the game, just PlayNC's site).
The only issues I've experienced the past few days is lag, but that's probably down to my end seeing as I've been downloading stuff.
You also have to remember that MA was only released a week ago (I think), so the Devs are going to be working on fixes, which often involves taking down the servers

Why would you get told off for stating the obvious, Damz?

I came back recently and part of me is already starting to regret it. Partially because I'm remembering why I left the game in the first place.

So are we having another downtime right now which was, let me guess, only announced in-game?

For 2 hours its down now yeah, we got ingame message half an hour ago.

Obviously was met by the usual "what the suger?"

Edit: I wouldnt be as annoyed if we got an announcement stating downtime, not 30 minutes beforehand.

I feel frustrated.

I just log on and see sombody has finally played my arc and he/she also left me feedback saying that he/she loved it.

I was on cloud nine, started to head to an AE building to see if anybody else has played (well at least rated) it when BAM! you have been forcebly logged out.

Nooooooooooooooooooo!

I'm still excited that sombody liked my arc though

It would be nice if they let us know. And if we got told what got done.

I agree, all them maintanence done in the middle of the day...
We are seemingly put on US time, but advanced warnings would be good. Specially since this is a prime game time for us on this side of the pool.

Ofc it could only be a normal server maintenence, but... I would not know. And since we have the MA I doubt we will get the maintenence done at our timetable? Hope the Devs will prove me wrong here.

Oh well, time to work abit (if able) or take a walk outside.

Please Devs or Board Monitors do not wait to the last 30 minutes to let us your players who basically pay your wages go without information , i'm totally aware patches are required and fixes etc . But what get's me since i joined this game like over 3-4 years ago ,is the lack of communication which we diserve . I have to hunt for information why the maintenance is required what is being fixed and even when you give us information what has been fixed it's almost cryptic.

Yes we're playing your game and you have the right to do what you please but if you think logically for a second not telling us whats going on in advanced is only going to get us annoyed and potentially leave the game and then you will have to make cut backs and go through the circle again making more players leave. Just give us more advanced warning of whats going on and why ,and most of us will be happy

Not to mention this is our prime time and the usual excuse is always the same "Just incase something goes wrong the US dev's can be awake to fix it" not your exact words but close enoungh is starting to lose it's touch on me now

And once again i come home Friday for my lunch and to have a quick game of COH, only to find the servers are down yet again !! Just like they where last Friday . What is going on !

maintenace used to be like 8am in morning when it would not really effect anyone now seems bringing it down every Friday lunchtime GRRRRRR

Most frustrating. If I had known there was downtime coming I would have stayed online until the servers went down rather than running off for an early lunch.

they used to mention on the forums well im sure Bridger /Rockjaw used to announce when server down time was gonna happen., maybe give us some notice.

What annoys me is that its always going by the americans timetable, why cant it switch over occasionally so they have to have it done in the middle of the day instead for a change?

Its a little unfair that we get punished for being European :/

I agree with the earlier comments though, if you know theres maintenence coming up, you could do one of those boxed annoucements like they have when a new issue is released etc, stating exactly whats being done and how long its expected to take, rather than big red letters saying 'The server is going to explode in 30 minutes, please log off and run for your life'

Ok, that's ridiculous.

Whatever about needing to update a new Issue fine, I can understand why they do it then. But if it's a case of "Every patch is now going to be applied at this time" along with "We're not actually bothered about notifying people on the offical EU forums" that's just stupid.

If someone is messing about in the MA Designer (You know, the feature you just added which takes up the entire screen which by it's nature it's very easy to get lost in for ages) they could lose tonnes of work with this approach.

Very, very poor customer management.

According to the announcement they said it USUALLY could take up to 2 hours, so 3pm would be as a guess the correct time for it to be up again. (Probs be before but 3pm at latest i'ld say)

I know this is all because of the synchronizing between US and EU servers. Maintenance must be done on the same time and all that.

Well, Friday and tuesday afternoons for that matter happen to be times where a lot of us EU types like to game. Daily maintenance in the mornings was irritating. But this is more then just irritating.

One of the reasons that I started playing on EU servers was that I wanted to have events, maintenance etc be done on EU convenient timing. So please with every bit of due respect.

Don't make a habit of this.

If it's being run from the US can we even be sure that GR is being told about downtime? ANd if my clockwatching is correct it's still pretty early in the US, so it's possible that Avatea (or any other community people with access to EU boards) may not be in work yet or may only just be being told...

It's bad that we're getting 30min ingame but it's not certain that it's GR/Avatea failing us on this score.

(And, IIRC, GR is leaving around the end of the month - so they may be trying to organise communications without relying on his role anymore)


EDIT: Also this may well be temporary - I14 launched too early and the MA service is very possibly being thrashed harder than the devs ever thought... so plenty of bugs/problems/improvements to make that probably need dev attendance - so are pretty much bound to US time.
