Hi folks, and thanks for the greetings and, erm, <raises eyebrow at Damz> ankle chains.
Yes, I have been looking at the Other Place - some very nice things there, some that look sort of nice but aren't quite my cup of tea, and an overall feeling of "not quite ready for release". Saying that over there doesn't make you very popular, though.
It was nice to come back to Paragon for the weekend - the graphics are a bit more basic, and some parts of the UI comparatively rough, but even so it plays so much more smoothly and is just plain fun!
That said, the original reason for my wandering off in the first place also came flooding back (<enters map> "Ah, the warehouse map again. Versus Rikti, again") and being able to change the colours of powers isn't that refreshing in itself.
So, after a bit of fun this weekend I think I'll be off on walkabout until GR's released - is there a date (or even vague ETA) for that yet?
As far as the Other Place goes - I'll probably have got through all if its content at the end of my first month, so very much the same applies there! -

That may not be the case; all the graphics rendering is done on your client rather than the server - there'd only be an increased server load if it needed to send more and/or different positional information back to your client. -

The waste of developer time would come in adding the brand new "-15% attribute to all stats (reducing over 5 minutes)" functionality.
If anything I'd vote for a simple "go to hospital" command - the code to send a toon to hospital (without any stat fiddling) exists already, there'd be no scope for exploiting via suicide+Rise of the Phoenix, etc... and if you're using it because you're stuck it'd be a bit pointless to just die then have the option of being rezzed in the exact same place.

Very much doubt it. The going rogue is supposed to take your hero/villain and make them rechoose their side not respec them into a completely new character. Which changing one powerset is.

If you haven't already, it's worth also giving this a /bug in-game - forum posts don't automatically get something added to the devs' fix list.

Not sure about odd, but it's certainly a change. That may be a reflection of NCSoft's increased financial commitment to things though, both in terms of wanting to give the game a higher profile, as you say, and because the increased dev team size means significant new content actually worthy of a box set is ready more often.

I14's only getting/got a boxed release in the US, but the consensus (AFAIK just amongst forumites - trust it as you will) is that GR will be a box release everywhere. -
