Did anyone else's jaw just hit the floor?

So THAT's what all those extra Developers have been doing!

My jaw has been on the floor the last 4 hours

I'm certainly glad to see that all those extra Devs, extra funding and precisely worded commitments to the future of this game by both NCSoft and Paragon Studios have finally crystallised into something of tangible worth to the playerbase. I just hope this expansion has content for all levels, including a starting zone where any archetype can begin.

A few immediate thoughts...

1. Yay!
2. Does this mean I can finally play a MM through the Hero content?
3. If this is going to be a totally separate zone, I guess it'll mean even fewer players in the current zones, which is a bit scary as it's already looking pretty empty these days.

And as an extension of point 2.: does this mean that each character can now potentially get ALL the game's badges (apart from the temporary ones, like anniversaries)?

and to point 3: depends on how it's implemented really. As I understand it, the new zone is mostly for letting you switch over. But actually I rather hope that they make it so that once you have gone rogue, you'll start at level 1 again and have to build up your reputation from scratch. What would be the point in going rogue with a lvl 50, only to have access to pretty much the same endgame content as before anyway (give or take the occasional TF)?

Woohoo stalker heroes ^_^

oh and is this a free issue, downloadable content or a new game disc?

I may be getting my hopes up a bit but if its a new game (as villains once was) do we get new archetypes and powers!?

A total of 14 of my nerves have been harmed in the making of this post...

The Devs do listen its just that they may not do anything to any one persons exact suggestion but instead do something to incorporate a multitude of peoples suggestions that can be more universally liked.

There will always be those people whom you just can't please who live in their "Me society" who can be easily confused as people who might think they speak for everyone else.

I am really looking forward to that issue as it's seriously worth taking a look at and worth any extra nine yards in the making.

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

I think this expantion is going to be like realy great and i hope for the best also i realy want the level cap to be increased, but anyway here is my suggestions, isnt this NCsofts way of trying to win back players who are going to play Champions online? lol

so if ur flitting between good and evil will this mean that your powers colours will change like electrical blast changing from red to blue like the woman in the trailer? depending on weather u lean towards good or bad??

An Invuln on the dark side has a black aura instead of a shiny one like heroes. It could be where conceptually applicable keeping fire like fire and ice like ice.

Well, if I'm not wrong, villains' fire power have a greenish touch, and ice powers are darker than heroes'.

Anyone think they'll do the graphical overhaul in time for/with Rouge? Positron mentioned in an interview that they have a team working on it.

He mentioned "tweaks" to the graphics - not sure if that's an overhaul or not

Probably more of an update like the one we got for CoV, some new shiny stuff, a little polish on the textures, the black Grandville textures fixed etc. We've already seen more and more glass surfaces (AE building for one), so guessing more stuff like that.

Would be cool if we, inside missions, got to see out. I mean, most offices do have windows, but f'coz they're usually logical in design as well. NC should really try to hire some ace map designers. Would increase the "feeling" a lot.

Agreed!

Of course if the same premise was used for an update to the SG/VG bases then woohoo! I really like being able to see the zones from the AE building, especially somewhere like Galaxy or Indy Port.

Even though we have no idea about any of this yet, especially in terms of timescale (a marked improvement in PR, I feel, not giving a timescale - it seems to have cut down the 'Is GR ready yet???!!!' posts) it has renewed my confidence in the direction of the game somewhat.

You my 1st thought on this was I can take my villins over to do my fav trial EDEN.

Thinking about it doing striga arc and the tf there on an MM would be fun oh oh oh pounding lusca with my brute.

sewer trial anyone?

I actually never knew that *runs off to make invul brute*

Im willing to bet they work it so you have to be level 50 to change sides or something. Level 1 masterminds in atlas just doesnt seem like its going to happen.

Level one wouldn't really give anyone enough time to have established a side to change over from

Understandable for established players but not for newer players. While I agree that one would have to establish their heroic or villainous side first they shouldn't have to wait til lvl 50. Around lvl 15-20 would seem fair.

Posted

I'm sure they probably allow 1-50 GR option, but they won't let you access it as easily. I'm sure for example they'd have say a 1-10 option for GR; 11-20 option, etc up to 50. It'd be a tad unfair me thinks if it was set like RWZ or Ourorororororoboros access, since at 25/35 you've already missed your other GR side pre-level-25/35.
