we'd all like the servers up

but it's silly how there have been no other announcements of this maintenance apart from ingame for 30 minutes before it

not even on the US boards they have a forum post about it

And we think we have it bad. Imagine the servers going down at 10pm on a Friday night

Really NCSoft seem to adopted a "whatever suits us best" approach with little thought gone into how it affects non-US based accounts.

But thats slightly different. thats a demographic of players choosing to play on a server in a foreign country that operates in different time zones.

we are a demongraphic of players that chose to play on servers which were operated in our time zone.

Indeed. Except the MA server is cross-region. I really wouldn't like to see what happens to peoples in progress MA arcs if we could log on without the MA Server being active. At a guess I'd say it'd be "crossing the streams" bad.

It makes sense that if the MA server goes down so does the EU

It doesn't make sense that no-one from NCSoft (not even Techman) is capable of making a post saying "Oh the servers will be down today from 1pm BST"

God dammit mongoose it's been said, let it die :P

Superman allready running around in Atlas Park not to mention Doom has been spotted in Mercy Island nothing will deter me from CoX unless the lack of communication keeps up for another full year

it's not my fault i have some kind of six sense that makes me only want me to play CoH when they have a maintenance and i don't know about it

I do hope they finish this investigation soon. What are they checking for by the way? I can't seem to find anything about it anywhere (although my search-fu is notoriously weak).

The most distressing thing is that one of my newly-published arcs only needed a few things tweaking and I was hoping to level up a new toon using the MA...

Also, what's the bug re: griefing out of the HoF? My interest is officially piqued!

Didnt they say before that MA maintennance would ONLY mean we couldnt play arcs but could still edit them and such? What changed so that the whole servers had to be brought down for it

/end rant of an angry no name player who just had a hot bath to try and get clean (got my ducky!!!)

@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!

Hmmm. This is starting to bring back painful memories of I14 launch day when the downtime overran for with the "internal testing" message then the servers became playable almost precisely at the time I could no longer play.

Ahhh but the market runs on a seperate server and is cross-server yet we were stil lable to have our seperate maintenance windows (when that wasnt involved)

presumuably, and its a big assumption, but to be cross-region MA must run on a similar seperate server to the market, you would hope it could be taken down for maintenance without affecting the main game.

But i think the point still stands that they should elect to have their maintenance window at a time suitable to players accross all regions if they have to affect everyone at once.

Here's what we do rant at the scientist to make a second sunin a stationary orbit on the other side of Earth all places adopt one timezone generally GMT as thats the birth of time(i say that not because i live in this zone but it's only logical to adopt the zone where time was born)then for night time turn off the suns to save energy like you do with your house lights *chuckle* imagination is great

lol oh dear i see the direct relation and so do a lot of other ppl ive talked to who are all highly dissapointed with CO and near enough all of them have said the same thing its too samey to wow

[/ QUOTE ]

If they are disappointed thats fine, many were with CoH on release, but compare Issue 1 to what we have today!, MMOs projects grow in size and evolve in competance. You're talking as though any MMO released stays as they were on release in a static condition.

Re: the endurance/build-up game dynamic - I don't think taking inspiration from an MMO that pulls eleventy gajillion subscribers is that odd to be honest, I'll be judging the game on how it plays as a SuperHero MMO not dissecting it for its apparent plagerism.
To be honest if the system is similar to WoW (and I don't know if it is to be honest having never played it) but if it is then it could very well of been on purpose, A long-term WoW player may find it familiar and 'get' CO that bit more and decide to defect.

as i cant stand WoW at all, ne game that has a similar system to it is gonna more than like not appeal to me. I like GW but thats becoz its free. CoX has appealed to me more than ne game becoz of the amount of simplictity it contains

but this mantinace is now becomming annoying really fustratingly annoying

No - they're released half-finished after losing many potential-players through late-beta changes that alienated half the overlarge beta testing crowd, get slammed in reviews and then, once the damage is done, steadily improve the game over the course of a year whilst the reviewers ignore it and the paymasters grow impatient and pull the plug.

Not still upset about Tabula Rasa at all.

This is getting annoying. Its gone under maintenance nearly every day this week. Not even anything even explaining why its down. It has over run yet no one has informed us of anything yet. Where do we send in complaints too exactly? Because it looks as though no one checks the forums very often.

The servers go down for maintenance every day, always have done. The only change is the time of day, for some reason they're doing it in the middle of the day instead of early in the morning (our time). I'd guess it's probably something to do with the Mission Architect so they needed to take the whole lot down at once.

If you try to log in you get a message saying the servers are not accessible to non staff accounts while they test things. It is a bit frustrating but it's hardly the end of the world, it's only a game after all
