Songs that remind you of CoH/V

No one's mention Nickelback... Hero (from Spiderman), that always reminds me of this game. The lyrics even fit nicely: none of us just stand there and wait for a hero to save us after all.

Well Chad Kroeger did that as a solo project away from Nickelback, but yeah it always makes me think of CoH/V since I saw a CoH fan-made film that used it as the soundtrack. Similarly P.O.D.'s song Boom and the song Trip Like I Do by Filter & the Crystal Method also remind me of CoH/V (I bought them on CD purely to listen to sometimes while playing CoH/V).

I listen to tons of different stuff while playing CoH/V, but any song that even relates in some way to superheroes, whether from a movie, TV show, fan film, or just lyric-wise, can prompt me to suddenly think about CoH/V. RemyZero's Save Me (also used as the Smallville theme) is another that springs to mind.

Too many songs to be honest... although some do bring back certain memories (me playing Cradle Of Filth - Guilded £&** with a fellow DJ screaming it into my ear over TS being one example)

Nevermind - didn't see that it was an old thread...

I've come to think the unofficial themes of City of Villains are:
Offspring's You're Gonna Go Far, Kid
I can almost see Lord Recluse singing the song to all the little villains as their growing bigger and bigger and getting ready to bring him and his cronies down.

And...

Cage the Elephant's There Ain't No Rest for the Wicked
A bit moreso for the softer core villains out there.

But that's about all I got.

I prefer Journey of the Sorcerer - Eagles. It's perfect for that long, long trip from Atlas to the Steel Canyon Tailor, or any other long trip.

It actually fits fantasy games like WoW better, but still.

But not for the much shorter trip from Atlas to the tailor inside the Vanguard base, accessable from Atlas and now open to characters of all levels?

This tread makes me feel old....I have no idea what half of this music is.

For me, "Boom, Boom, Boom" by Big Head Todd and the Monsters featuring John Lee ****** makes me want to go punch things on either side.

"Big Time" by Webb Wilder. "If you're fat, if you're bald, it don't matter at all. You're never to small to hit the big time" that lyric makes me think of alot of my toons.

Red side its "Run to the Hills" and "Number of the Beast" by Iron Maiden and for some reason "The Wizard" by Black Sabbath.

and from out of the blue The Who has a song I cannot remember the name of (Mr. Spider?maybe?) where the chorus goes "creep creepy crawly crawly" faster and faster, just makes me think of Grandville. I always thought our talented crew of video makers is missing a gem with that tune.

Also, Ride of the Valkyries. is a good one.

Depends on the character I'm playing. Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down is a common theme, and in those big fights where I end up being the last guy standing, still fighting trying to clear the spawn (I tend to play Brutes and Scrappers and other durable types ) I tend to hear Disturbed's Indestructible.

The funny thing is I'll be playing without any music on, and catch myself humming or singing something relevant to the specific character I'm playing subconsciously. It always makes me chuckle when I realize it.

I wish I could think of some specific examples right now, but I can't seem to remember :/

well, i have the standard dragonforce stuff-heart of a dragon, storming the burning fields, through the fire and the flames, these are particularly good on itf runs, tons of enemies mobbing you, giant greek mythological monsters all around, usually I am some sort of monster, like a dragon, a werewolf, a giant robot, an angel or someshuch, so the whole look is fairly metal.

in addition a song by abney park http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88ZJEFXCqew, reminds me of some of the more intense settings in coh..and naturally my steampunk pirate homage dual pistol character

also, and i will admit right away that its an odd match, but such is life this song, "stand in the rain" by a christian pop group superchick http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2naYghOqM0s reminds me for the weirdest reason of a tanker. actually had an alt inspired by this one, though the link would be hard to notice unless you read the bio and i told you a lot of side info for her. funny thing is i have another tanker who also is inspired by a tenuously related song, "space robot 5" , so i have an odd link between tankers and christian pop music :P

oh, and especially for a bots mastermind, Dr. steel is a very strong it.

Paradise City by Guns N' Roses. Reword the chorus accordingly.

Take me down to the Paragon City
Where the girls are green
and the grass is deadly

I wish I could claim credit, but alas, I cannot. Nor can I remember who came up with those lyrics.

Super Villain by Powerman 5000. And, by the same band, Heroes and Villains. The latter could practically be the themesong for Going Rogue, I'm convinced.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

I still associate 3 Doors Down's "Citizen Soldier" with CoH... it just FITS, for some reason. Villainside, it depends on the villain. I've got an extensive track listing for my characters (and several NPCs) because I usually don't hear ONE song and go, "yeah, that's CoV."

Heard this song while putzin around the yard today and it always makes me thinik of COV:

Stealin' by Uriah Heap.

I can picture the quizzical looks from the youngins. Just look it up and listen. Great Song.

I even have a story arc for MA on paper with a contact named Uriah Gantry that owns a Pawn Shop in Port Oakes called The Heap. I need to finish that thing in the MA one of these days...

As well as when fighting DE (Mushroom Mushroom), and Snakes.

Walking on Air (Greatest American Hero Theme) is an obvious one. Also The Never Ending Story, You Got the Touch, and The Final Countdown.
