NCE Community team visits NCNC

So, I thought I'd let you all know that next week we'll (Palladium, Kerensky, Avatea and myself) all be heading over to visit NCNC for a wonderful week of meetings and discussions and suchlike.

We're not going to be able to bring back too much in the way of new information for you, however we'll see what we can get .

Now, before you dive right in there are a few things that I can say are pretty much certain to get a lot of "no comment" response: Anything to do with future development. If you don't know already, it means it's not ready for us to be able to tell you about it. Sorry.

What we are far more likely to get is additional information about development that's already occurred, such as: why certain powers were chosen to be Proliferated; the VEATs and how they came about; new zone designs and inspirations.

With the above in mind, we thought we'd give you the chance to post a few suggestions on what you would most like us to try to dig out.

So what future development is planned?

Actually like to know if they're still planning the City Vault - if so, any ETA?

Gonna be cheeky with this one:

Why have they given us pirate costume options but no pirate powerset for MMs yet?

I'd like to know why devs posting (ie not reposts of what they've said by others) on the EU forums are as rare as hens teeth? Yes it's not what they're there for but it is what they do to a greater (BaB) or lesser (anyone not BaB) degree on the US forums.

I'm with Cryonic here

Apart from War Witch, we do seem to seem to be the poor relations when it comes to contact and if you guys are going over I reckon you have a great opportunity to be ambasadors for the EU community, and I don't think I'm speaking out of turn when I say our lack of Dev contact is sometimes frustrating. We do get the odd visit from WarWitch and I know from personal experience how helpful she is and how well she responds to the fans. However, one or two postings a year and the odd bi-annual visit don't really cut it.

Given the EU player base, and the revenue this side of the pond brings in, it would be nice to "feel a touch more of the NCNC leuve from time to time over here

Ask them why we have to put up with the disparity of customer support we do.

I'm already sensing that Gilmore's pirate question may be the one to get asked whilst the others are passed by.

Still doesn't mean it'll get an answer past 'Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, me hearties'.

Shame as the Dev posting question always leads to a couple of shows in the EU so that some illusion of parity can be maintained.

Hi GR, let's see, let's see...
How's the new blood doing at getting up to speed with the programming? Are they able to work on their own or are they still at the hand-holding stage?
How many folk do NCNC have on the books now. We know it used to be 15 in the dark days, how much expansion have they managed so far?
They chose the obvious controller primary for the new proliferation, and they've said that they plan to repeat the idea in future issues. Have they started on a new idea yet at all, or is it yet a distant dream?
Do they plan to visit us next Easter?
Was Koschej told to do his public WS challenge, or did he decide to do it himself? (And do any of you fancy doing something similar?)

What's going on with the City Vault?

Do you think we could get some more of you guys regularly coming over here? I agree with the others that we rarely get Dev visits, while the US forums is pretty much filled with Dev posts.

That's all for me at the moment.

I agree with the "more Dev' posting" question, although if the EU doesn't generate enough cash to make it worth while then I'd be happy to know that as well. (Although I'm a capitalist and I'm not sure others would be as understanding. )

Also agree with some of Dr Toerag's questions.

Could we also know if the trend to hint at future additions and publish such things as calenders will be continued. These are the sorts of things that make us happy. Could we be told of something in the next issue rather than having to wait until it hits the Training Room? (I appreciate that this isn't possible for some things as changes happen, but a rough idea, or just "next issue will have something in it for SG bases" would be good if couched appropriately and keeps the trolls fed.)

Can you confirm whether the Omega Sektor attendees names are ingame?

More devs posting over here, i remember few months back ( i think it was when you bought out the rights) when BaBs posted saying he would post more often over here. Unfortunately i havent seen him since which is a shame since i love reading his posts on the US forums. (also GR posts too!!!)

Do they have any plans to update the city terminals to include the new mobs?

Would it be possible for devs to create ingame "warning messages" that player created events are going to happen?

Thats all i can think of

@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!

Three things:

First, ask them if it's possible to change the default chat setting to "enemy chat enabled" - almost all new players are totally unaware of the setting, or that it even exists, and when they ask something on the Help channel, they often can't read the replies.
If it's not possible for some technical reason, then make one of the loading screen tips mention it, and add a message about it to the info you get when you enter Outbreak.

Second - ask them if they can make the Help channel a default start channel, so that new players see it being used and know it's there for them, rather than having to edit their chat tabs to have it showing.

Third - please ask them about animated hair

Please just tell Castle, Positron, Back Alley Brawler and Sexy Jay that we're not that bad - if they start to post occasionally over here then we promise to go easy on them

And if they still doubt that then I'm sure War Witch will be willing to vouch for us

Is there anything planned to do with the rather empty 45 month Vet reward or any sort of shake-up planned for the Vet rewards? (Speaking as a 45-monther myself?)

That's the one - I think that the last we heard was that it had been delayed due to some sort of security issue.

But since then I've not seen any word of it being dropped or progressing towards completion/launch.

Last time that security issue thing came up, I asked where it had come from and no one answered... (since I've personally never seen any official confirmation of that.)

City Vault is still being worked on, however we don't have any ETA on when it will be ready at the current. As far as I am aware, there are no security issues; it's just taking some time to get it working to the standard we want.

It had better work in Opera or else*

Let Castle know that Singualrity is still scared of burning oil slicks (and watch him cry). According to the Americans they think its fixed on all pets, but I've checked with Singy and he still runs like bejaysis from it.
