Thanks for all the well wishes everyone!
Spending my last day in the office today making sure I've got everything that's mine, finishing off a few last minute things and the like.
It's been an absolutely fantastic 16 months working with CoH. There's been some really great fun, with the standouts for me being Omega Sektor, X4, and Memorabilia. I've met some great people, in person and online, and you've all made being a part of this community an experience I won't forget.
As I move on I want you all to remember what it is about this game and this community that makes it unique and special. I'll be continuing to play this great game, and I'm looking forward to teaming with many of you and doing the things I've not had time for in the past ... like TF's and SF's and badge hunting.

Unless it is an emergency, we will not patch on a weekend. There was no patch on the Saturday just past.

I have some information I can share with you all.
The NCsoft.com store has been experiencing extremely high traffic over the last few weeks. We've had a few very popular new products become available in a short period, and the demand has been high: Architect Edition, the Magic Booster, our Steam launch, and the latest is the Guild Wars free storage pane offer. Our servers have become overloaded at times and this has caused the slowness you have all witnessed.
Our billing and web teams are working to resolve the problems. They've already replaced old database hardware with brand new, faster hardware. The web sessions database has also been upgraded, and they will be implementing a better session manager in the near future. Additionally, they're working on adding an additionally six web servers.
In the meantime, if you experience slowness and your browser times out and reports an error after you confirm a purchase, please do not click any 'try again' (or similar) buttons your browser offers. Doing so submits an entirely new request to the server, however your original request may still be processing; this could result in you inadvertantly having two purchases processed. You should wait a few minutes and check your email before trying again (you will be sent a receipt if your purchase is successful). -
The bug referred to when this thread was created is already fixed. Please do not post new bugs in a pre-existing thread.
Further, when posting about bugs please a) search the forums for any existing reports that match yours, and b) provide a description of the bug. "Please fix the chat bug" is not a good bug report.
For reference, there's a report on the I14 chat bug here (although, unfortunately, it's still lacking full details for the devs - I've seen better reports elsewhere on the forums, however). -

There will be devs on EU Training Room. One of the competitions is global, there's a US-only competition, and an EU-only competition.
Avatea and myself should be kicking around on the Training Room as well. -

I did, this morning, when I had a terrible time trying to get the GW promo storage pane for my 3 accounts... The issue is being looked into currently, and the experts are looking at exactly what's happening currently.
FWIW, I know what happened re: people getting "Try Again" error messages with the Magic Pack. What you were getting was actually a browser error message, because the browser was deciding that the process was taking too long and timing itself out. Unfortunately the ncsoft.com store was actually still processing (just slower than the browser expected). Even more unfortunately, the browser-prompted "Try Again" resubmits the entire requests and the store sees it as a new request, and processes it as such. Hence why a lot of people ended up buying multiple packs. -

The announcement was only completed yesterday, and is currently being localised for French and German before we publish.
As a general hint, however, the EU announcement is nearly identical, and the changes are minor (the biggest is that one of the contests will be different). -

This possibly means that one of your accounts is a US account and the other is an EU account.

Thread closed because petitions are specifically not allowed.
The afternoon maintenance periods this week have been due to patches that include updates for Mission Architect. As the MA is a global service, all servers globally need to be patched at the same time.
Regular maintenance windows remain the same as previous (FYI - tomorrow's regular maintenance will not be required as the work was carried out during today's maintenance in advance). -
I believe you'll be talking about Defiant. Unfortunately this server was made available earlier than it should have been due to a technical fault. The server is not being scheduled for a second 2 hour maintenance and will be restored as soon as the CS team has completed base restoration work.
This work should not take very long - Vigilance, Union and Zukunft are all now enabled for public access. -

*cough* That press release covers both North America and Europe. The games aren't available just yet, however they should be later today (US time).

Re: the forum language, it's set by the url. If you end up with French or German forum interface text, the quick fix is to check to make sure the start of your forum URL is:

If you're seeing French text, that URL will have //fr instead of //uk. Just change the fr back into uk and your problem is fixed. -

It usually depends on how much Bank A and Bank B are willing to cooperate. Some banks like each other, some banks don't. Moving funds internationally also causes delays in many cases. -
