Candy floss - highly unlikely. We'd get the inferior 'cotton candy' if anything...
But isn't 'cotton candy floss' usually found at fairgrounds? (It's mainly been at fairgrounds where I've seen it in the UK)
So Carnies are planning a big anniversary fair for the inevitable random invading waves of rikti/5th experiments, but it's all just a cunning plot to divert attention whilst the dancing steam horses make off with the cotton candy floss and ruin it for everyone... Bet that the fairground janitor is Nem in a mask.
He would have gotten away with it as well if it wasn't for us pesky kids.

Indeed!, unfortunately I haven't been contacted further so have no idea if the SG in question are still planning to run their event.
It'll be interesting to see what the NCsoft official announcement will be - gotta have one really!, surely?... I mean, Five Years is landmark and pretty Impressive.
With regard to planned events for 28th.
I have a hunch the devs have thier own in game event planned, and are trying very hard to keep it secret.
It could cause disruption.

As there hasn't been any kind of announcement yet, I doubt there'll be any 5th anniversary even on the 28th. Probably later, though, although it wouldn't surprise me if it takes till the release of I15.

Re: Expecting something for the Fifth Anniversary, I remain hopeful and optimistic (yet sadly prepared for how I'll feel if its a press release/respec/character slot/5th anniversary costume pack.)
If I were a Lead Dev I think such a landmark in an MMO would most definately be celebrated with a big event, free goodies and (at night-time) a week of GuildWars-esque Fireworks displays. \o/
We'll get a badge, obviously for still being here.
